Hey.. you're back! Welcome to Toni Taddeo's Tuesday 4 where we just want you to meet new folks and get to know the ones you already know a bit better. Besides, it gives you something to blog about too.
This week let's talk about Summertime....
1. What gave you the most fun in summer as a kid or as an adult?
Just playing outside all day long. It was a time when your parents were not worried about where you were or what you were doing. Loved playing kick the can on summer evenings.
2. Does summer heat get to you? How do you cope?
We live in Southern California so the heat, as a rule, doesn't get to us until it's over 100 degrees. Even then when you feel some humidity it is nothing like living in places like Florida, Texas or Illinois where I grew up.
3. Do you have summertime foods and drinks you really enjoy eating? Does your menu change in summer?
I have to say that our summer menu really doesn't change. Maybe we tend to grill outside more but we can do that year round anyway.
4. Do you enjoy sitting outside or on the porch in summertime? How about some photos of where you enjoy being in summer.
I have to admit that I do love sitting outside. For some reason, during the pandemic, I have gotten myself outside in the back yard more often. It's a great escape from being inside.
Summer view will often have smog near the mountains.
We have a lot of color going on right now but it doesn't
show in the photos. Bird of Paradise are done blooming.
Evening view....
Winter view....
Our Hibiscus are beautiful right now.
This is where I would like to be.
The beach in Carlsbad, CA.
Thank you Annie.

Carlsbad is really nice. I enjoyed your pictures. You have an awesome view! Our weather should be really nice this week.
Oh Debby, that VIEW!!!! How beautiful!! I'm the same as you... I'd don't have winter & summer menus. Even though our weather does change drastically, I serve the same types of food all year round. As you said, maybe we grill out more during the summer too. ~Andrea xoxo
Beautiful view my friend.

If I had that evening view, I would turn off the TV and watch the view. wow... the day time is beautiful too. living in the land of humidity, summer is my least loved season, from Now until Nov I stay inside and only go out when I have to, and do any required outside before 7 am
You have such a beautiful back yard and Oh my! what a beautiful view. Love that hibiscus!
What a gorgeous view year-round! I love it.
I love the long days of summer and playing outside until dark when I was a kid. Loved your answers! Have a nice week.

With a yard like yours, I'd want to linger outside for hours on end! We generally eat the same foods year-round, and I'm so fortunate Tom enjoys grilling.
All I can say positive about our Summer days is, each one brings us that much closer to December/January.
I would love some more of those lazy days of summer when I was a kid.
I never used to be bothered by the heat, the hotter the better. The older I get the less I like it. Although I think it's more the humidity that I can't take and not so much the heat.
Usually I prefer to eat cold meals during the summer.
I used to love to sit outside in the summer but the last few years I've pretty much just stayed in the house. I would probably spend more time outside if I had a shady place to sit.
Your view and backyard are beautiful. I love the hibiscus. So pretty to see where everyone lives.
Thanks for sharing such a delightful post. Your photos are amazing!
Beautiful views and I think being stuck inside made us appreciate going out so much more than ever!
Thanks for joining in
Your hibiscus is so pretty! What a gorgeous color with it! You have such a great view to enjoy when you choose to sit outside, Debby :) It is neat too how it changes in the winter with the snow on the mountains. Such an easier time when we were growing up. We would play outside literally all day. The heat didn't seem to bother us either (of course I didn't live in Phoenix at the time lol). Will you be planning a trip/visit to Carlsbad sometime this summer?
betty
What a gorgeous view!
That view!! Debby, I love the Evening view with your lights on. :-)
This is great! As a child in the summertime, I enjoyed walking barefoot on the hot pavement down to the lake for a swim. I also enjoyed riding my bike through mud puddles after the rain.
I like my AC, so I'm not fond of heat.
I am the same as you...Our food doesn't really change with the season. I use the crockpot in the summer, as well as the winter. I have also been known to use the oven in the summer. However, I never use the oven very much just once in a while.
I like to sit on our porch only during the Autumn or Spring. Otherwise, it's too hot or too cold.
James is growing up before our eyes. I bet he enjoys that scooter.
