2. What's something you're too chicken to try?
A lot of gross animal parts that people eat like tongue.
3. When did you last find yourself running around like a 'chicken with its head cut off'?
That usually happens at Christmas time for me.
4. Something you've done recently that makes you think 'I'm no spring chicken'?
These days it is just about everything. Probably cleaning up toys from the floor when we are with James.
5. 'Winner winner chicken dinner'...tell us about something good that's happened in your life lately.
Honestly I'm not coming up with anything except for the fact that Amber's Dylan has gotten a promotion at the hospital and Adam's Gabby has gotten a nice promotion too!
6. Insert your own random thought here.
We had a really nice time at Adam and Gabby's on the 4th of July. Adam, Gabby, Mark and James were in the pool for several hours. I have to say that James' swimming lessons have definitely paid off. He's going to be moving to the next level soon.
He jumps in and goes underwater and swims to his parents. He especially likes when Papa is there. He can hold on to the edge of the pool and follow it along to get out or he is strong enough to pull himself out of the water from the side of the pool. We have noticed that between his scooter and swimming he is a really good athlete.
I got a couple of videos yesterday that were cute. I just didn't have them set up to put in this post today.

I'm a big fried chicken fan. The deli where I work makes it daily so I often buy a piece for lunch.
That little SweetBabyJames...I'll bet he looks like a little fish in the pool. Even when swimming his hair is neat as a pin! Sooooooooo suh-weet!!!!!! I love fried chicken too. Popeyes or KFC, doesn't matter to me. :-) ~Andrea xoxo
Yum with that dessert, Debby! What a fun day you guys all had! So great to hear that James is doing great with swimming lessons too!! Congrats to Dylan and Gabby on their promotions! I do like fried chicken. Sometimes if hubby is gone I'll stop and get KFC, rare these days. My mom used to fry her chicken and then put it in the oven for about 20 minutes. It really got crispy and was so delicious! It is good that James is athletic. I wonder what sports he might be interested in down the line :)

Congrats to Dylan and Gabby on their promotions ... more so to that precious James. No fear, thank goodness!
One of these days I'm going to have to try a fried pickle. I, too, am loathe to do much frying. Unless you count the Instant Pot and avoid all the splatter.
Your husband sounds like mine; if there's a smell he can't stand, well, I just don't make that. There's a crockpot bbq pork I make and the kids love it but he hates the stink! Funny thing is, I will plan it for when he goes away for a conference and then it is special for the kids, something to look forward to.
Congratulations to your family regarding the promotions. :-)
That pool looks so fun!! High Fives to James on his swimming.
I don't like the smell of oil in the house either. When my husband does a fish fry, he sets everything up on the screened porch! Congrats on the promotions!!
I love fried pickles! I don't have them very often. I haven't found a place that makes them like the restaurant from my childhood that I loved so much.
That's good he is learning so much at swimming lessons.
The dessert at the end looks yummy!
I don't like pickles, but I do like fried ones! So glad you had a nice 4th of July and that James is a good little swimmer. I taught swimming for six years and was a lifeguard... it's a skill everyone should learn. Your strawberry shortcake looks delicious!
So glad he's doing well with swimming lessons. It reduces some of the pool anxiety! Our oldest grandson has been in lessons this summer too. I'm glad because we've got the lake in our backyard. Plus, it's a lot of fun and I think everyone should know how to swim.
Love the pics of James in the pool. My grandson loves a pool too. That strawberry shortcake sure looks good.
Nothing is cuter than a little fellow or gal learning to swim.
That strawberry shortcake looks wonderful!
I'm glad you had a great day., I used to like tongue, but I haven't had it in years.
Congratulations on the promotions. That's encouraging. James is a cutie and it's so good to get swimming skills. Our grands start swimming lessons today.
Sounds like a great 4th for you! We don't fry in the house either. Sometimes, very rarely we'll fry out on the deck instead of in the house. Hope the rest of your week goes well.
Wow, you had a most delightful 4th. Love the pictures of James having such a good time.
I love fried chicken. Don't make it myself but sometimes order it at a restaurant.
Too many times I am "a chicken with my head cut off"
Ummm that strawberry shortcake looks divine.
