2. What are three words that might describe the kind of person you were this past year or describe in some way how your life looked?
Well I had several health issues so it was a rather sad year for me. Lots of doctors appointment and no answers on several issues. Things are however getting better and I'm happy about that.
Seeing Adam, Gabby & James and Amber & Dylan were the best parts of 2022.
3. What's something new you ate, saw, heard, or experienced in 2022? What did you think?
I had a tomahawk steak for the first time and it was delicious.
4. Oxford Dictionary has announced it's word of the year for 2022, and it's this-goblin mode. Huh? Have you ever heard this phrase? Used this phrase? It's defined as "a type of behavior which is unapologetically self-indulgent, lazy, slovenly, or greedy, typically in a way that rejects social norms or expectations."
This year they allowed the public to choose amongst three finalists. You can read more about that here.
I have not heard that before or used it at all. So why not use the words we were used to?
If you were in charge, what word would you declare word of the year for 2022?
Maybe "woke!"
5. Any special plans for an end of year celebration in your house or town? The travel channel says the world's best New Year's Eve celebrations will happen in Copacabana Beach-Rio de Janerio, the Orlando theme parks in Florida, London, Sydney, New York's Time Square, Edinburgh Scotland, and Paris. If you could attend any one of these which would you choose? Tell us why?
No, not at this time. I would love to go back to London or Paris because I loved the time I spent in both places in 2011.

I guess I stay in goblin mode these days. 😝
Love your random quote Debby. Especially the "May God's light guide your way in 2023." I know He will be faithful in guiding my way. Now, if I'll be more faithful and following Him. Happy new year.
unfortuantely there are many people now living in goblin mode, and no, never heard the words. no good bum is what I would say that word means. i have never made NY resolutions. makes it easy to do them, ha ha.
I am so glad things are looking better for you, Debby and I do believe your random thought is the only real reason for any of us to have a better year. He is the answer; may we be found faithful. Hoping your get to spend lots and lots of time with your family and especially that sweet James in 2023.
I hadn't heard of that word either until I saw it on the news the other day. Here's hoping that 2023 is a better year for all of us, especially when it comes to our health. I had lots of issues in that department, too, Debby, but thankfully, they are behind me.
Blessings!
I think that Word for the year is just ridiculous. Agreed, why can't we just use normal words and not try to recreate the wheel.
'Still haven't got around to tasting a tomahawk steak. Is it that much better than a bone-in rib-eye?
The way the kids use these words are a hoot. Don't know if I will use them that way or not.
I want you to stay well this year. So take things slow. Don't worry about your house until the weather gets better.
Happy New Year with James!
We used to get really good tomahawk steaks from a guy in NJ who sold meat from a delivery truck. We loved them! I don't see them here but haven't really looked too hard. Woke is a good word. So much ridiculousness in 2022. Wishing you a bright and healthy new year!!
Well, my goal last year was to loose some more weight..dismal failure...now I really, really have to get that 10-15 pounds off asap.
"One step forward" "One step Back" my 3 words X 2
So glad your health issues are getting better too. Things are looking up for me too.
This past year Hubby and I were on the receiving end of things and were humbled by generosity. We are usually on the giving and meeting others needs end of things. Hard but truly wonderful at the same time.
I agree with you on the word WOKE.
Love your wish and that the light of the Lord will guide us in 2023

Praying your 2023 is a year of good health and feeling stronger and happier. You have been an encouragement to me regarding health issues...I talked to my Dr. about my shoulder and statins, etc. He insists my issue is not related to the statin, and has sent me for an xray to see if I have another pinched nerve, which lately I am pretty sure I do because I am now having back spasms again. SO, I went today and am waiting for results. Xrays don't really show what needs to be shown, but insurance demands that before an MRI or other tests. So we shall see. And he insisted I go back on the statin as my cholesterol went way up. So here I go again...Pray I will do whatever is best for me. God bless you dear friend across the country. Happy New Year!
Hi Debby, I am glad you are feeling better. The grands will be here one more week and go back to school on the 9th. I have been called in to jury duty :( Hopefully they won't need me. I will need to take my seat cushion. I hope we can meet up in 2003! Happy New Year!
Never heard of goblin mode. I have however been very lazy for a very long time.
I appreciate your 2023 blessing on all of us Debby.
Sending love and prayers to you for 2023!!
Carla
Best wishes for the coming year. ❤️
