2. Lake Superior State University posts a list each year of words they think should be banished from the Queen's English for misuse, overuse, and/or general uselessness. The 2023 list includes GOAT, inflection point, quiet quitting, gaslighting, moving forward, amazing, Does that make sense?, irregardless, absolutely, and it is what it is.
Which of these words/phrases do you use regularly? Which of these words would you most like to banished from everyday speech and why? Is there a word/phrase not on the list you'd like to add?
I am not even familiar with most of these words. I know that I use "it is what it is, amazing and absolutely." I'm not getting rid of using those.
3. February 2nd is Groundhog Day. What's something that feels repeated in your life right now?
Right now it would be my answer for #1. We still haven't left my mother in laws house.
4. What's a food you love that's named after a place?
Chicago Deep Dish Pizza.
5. What's the best season of the year to visit your city or your part of the country? Tell us why.
We do have some wonderful weather year round in Southern California. I am going to say early June. So the end of Spring and towards the beginning of Summer. We get either Santa Ana Winds or rain from the end of October until the end of May.
Last year we had a very hot summer which is not normal for us. When we first moved to California in 1989 we would normally have a few days each summer where we would be 100 degrees or over. Last summer it was close to 100 degrees way too often.

If I were to tell you about my January it wouldn't take long. I think all the months are pretty much the same for me.
That's a nice big gathering for your mother in law.
I agree about the words you mentioned, those are the three I use and I have to admit, i overuse Amazing when commenting. I don't think I use it when talking though. we need a list of what to use to replace amazing.
I don't eat anything that has a name of a place. unless you count Great Value which is on most of my food.. ha ha hope you get released for your trip home soon!
Yours is such a beautiful family!
I hope all is well with your MIL's health and you're able to hit the road. Soon!
Such a big and gorgeous family, Debby! I know you're still stuck, but I do hope you're having a good time anyway, taking it one day at a time.
Blessings!
Yikes! Just read about your ordeal on the road to Houston! Glad you finally made it. Looks like you had a great gathering to celebrate the birthday. Hope February is good for you!
Hi Debby,
I am looking forward to hearing all about the party. I love the big family photo full of smiles.

The Good The Bad and The Ugly. I know EXACTLY why you are saying that - love your sense of humor.
Yes, life is all about the Good, the Bad and the Ugly.
My post today is all about the Good...
I'm like you and MadSnapper. Those are the words I use most often and they are usually when I am commenting on the Blog.
I sure hope you will "be released" soon. Lovely family photo.
