1. Last time you drove/flew 500 miles (ish)? What's a place you'd like to visit that lies approximately 500 miles from your current location?
Our most recent drive was to Houston, TX and we first drove to Peoria, AZ but that's only 317 miles. Now when we make our trip to Great Falls we stop is St. George because I can't handle the elevation in Salt Lake City (643 miles) and so that first day is 335 miles. Can't think of anything close to 500 miles that we have driven to.
I guess I could say San Francisco which is 440 miles but I certainly don't want to visit there at this time.
2. Tell us about a time recently it felt like you were 'racing against the clock'.
I really can't think of anything other than a week ago on a Monday I had an 8 am doctors appointment at an office that is 30 miles from our house. On top of that Mark had to drive me because my Mini Cooper was in the shop.
So showering at 6 am and getting ready to leave was definitely racing the clock. You never know what the traffic will be like so you have to give yourself an hour to get there.
3. Have you ever attended any really large sporting events? What was your impression of the experience?
No
The Superbowl, The Kentucky Derby, The World Series, FIFA World Cup, The Indianapolis 500, The Daytona 500, The Olympics, The Masters, Wimbledon, The Boston Marathon, March Madness, Tour de France, Monaco's Grand Prix, The Open (golf), The Ryder Cup, The Stanley Cup Finals..of the events listed which would you most like to attend in person? Or maybe one that's not listed?
Well it would be fun to go to the Olympics but I would love to go to The Masters and The Open. I am a fan of golf.
4. Are you an iced tea drinker? If so, do you drink it year round, or only in the spring and summer months? Do you make your own or buy it bottled? Sweet or unsweet? Flavored? Lemon or no lemon? How about a Long Island Iced Tea?
No. If I did it would be unsweet with lemon. I drink water with fresh lemon all the time.
5. April 20th is Volunteer Recognition Day...do you volunteer in some way? Tell us about it. If not, tell us about a volunteer you appreciate.
No I don't unless you count babysitting....LOL! Here is a odd coincidence. I had a phone call with my therapist on Tuesday night and I told her I would like to volunteer somewhere.
6. Insert your own random thought here.
I am asking for prayers for Gabby's family who recently lost a member of their family to a tragic accident. He was a police officer, Gabby's cousin, who was off duty and driving home at 2:30 am Saturday morning.
I'm going to share the article with you in case you want to read it. Adam and Gabby were watching the news on Saturday morning and they showed the accident but they had no clue it was her cousin. They gave out no names. Then his sister called to tell them about his passing.

Later Mark found a video and saw that they took him by a police escort to the morgue. This is longer than I wanted it to be but I wanted you to know that he has twin boys who are 4 years old, so they need prayers also.

What a sad tragedy! I'm sorry to hear that. I will say a prayer for the family.
So many places need volunteers and it feels like it's harder to fill those spots now.
I like lemon water as well, I usually get that when eating out.
Praying for you. God bless your day.
Hi Debby,
I am praying!!!
Did your Mini Cooper get fixed?
What a horrific tragedy for Gabby and her family, Debby! There are far too many reports of police officers dying, on and off duty. I will lift them all in prayer.
Blessings!
That's the second mention of a slain officer. I'm tired of it, along with the "bad cop" narrative. They risk so much.
Yeay, another golfing fan! Like you, I've no desire to visit San Francisco right now; any large metropolis, actually. Horrific what's being allowed to take place.
Praying for Gabby's family, particularly those little boys.
I'm so sorry for this family's loss. Oh and young children too. It is so sad to think about how devastating that must be. I will keep them in my prayers.
I'm sure there are opportunities near you for volunteering and I hope you're able to find something that might work for you.
I'm s sorry about the loss. I'm sending prayers. ❤️
Oh Debby, I'm so sorry about Gabby's cousin. How tragic for that young family. Prayers up right now as I type with tears in my eyes. I think babysitting is an important volunteer work!!
Sorry to hear about the loss suffered by your family
I don't volunteer as I am too damn lazy and I have zero interest in sport
That was sad news. I am so sorry for the families.
I do volunteer and love doing it.
So sorry to hear about Gabby's cousin. Condolences to his family.
I am always early and never race the clock for anything. that was an easy answer. the last time i went 500 miles was 2008 going to Savannah and Augusta GA to see my friend and my brothers family. since then have not been more than 10 miles away from the homestead. you do lots of traveling compared to me
First off, I'm so sorry for the tragic death of loved ones. Praying for the entire family, especially for those 2 precious little boys.
I guess driving to our sons home in Oregon would be last time or maybe it was our drive to Las Vegas for Granddaughters wedding at their friends home.
We have gone to the Olympics and many track and field events. Enjoy the atmosphere.
Love iced tea with lemon, unsweetened any time. In fact there is a pitcher in the fridge right now.
My whole 2 previous blog posts are about our life of volunteering. Who knows where the Lord will put us next.
Good questions
Sue
Sorry about the loss of Gabby's cousin. I am not a morning person either. Last time I had jury duty, I have my husband take me because I don't like driving in the rain. Luckily I did not have to serve, but I was there for a whole day. Enjoy your weekend!
Enjoyed your answers. Will certainly be praying for Gabby's family.
