Volume 270
Thank you Joyce....
1. If you could sit beside and/or jump in any lake in the whole wide world today, which lake would you choose and why?
I'm going to choose Huntley Lake near Antioch, IL. My father had a cottage there for many years which our children got to enjoy. Of course we had moved to California when they were still young but I would take them there for a few weeks each summer.
2. What's your favorite 'fruity' drink?
I'm not sure. How about a veggie drink. I would say V-8. Does OJ with extra pulp count? Otherwise I guess the other fruity drink would be made with grapes....I call it wine!!!
clean as you go, re-evaluate your relationships (cut toxic ties), unsubscribe (too many blogs and websites), de-clutter, write down your daily goals, reply to emails right away, forget multitasking, create a morning routine, re-evaluate your commitments (which hobbies and responsibilities are most important to you), say no, clean up your computer, and plan your day ahead
Which of the tasks listed do you currently find most helpful in keeping life simple? Which item on the list should you adopt in order to simplify your life this month?
I wouldn't call my life simple right now because I put everything off but I will say write down your daily goals. I like to make lists.
I would like to create a morning routine to motivate myself into doing more around the house. I get on my computer first thing each morning and pretty much stay there most of the day.
It has made me very lazy over the years. Sure I do light cleaning and laundry but going deeper is definitely something that needs to be done.
4. What did you do the summer after you graduated from high school?
I stared working full time. I wasn't planning on going to college so through my secretarial class in H.S. I was hired by a company in Oak Brook, IL.
5. Are you a fan of podcasts? If so what's a favorite?
I'm going with no. Not sure I've ever listened to one.
6. Do you think today's fathers have it harder, easier, or just different than fathers in the past?
I'm going with just different.
7. Tell us one way you're like your father? Or not at all like your father if that's easier?
I have a kind heart like my father. He would give you the shirt off his back, goes out of his way to help everyone. I'm going to also say that as much as I have been like him most of my life I have hardened over the years so I am not always as willing to be that person but I love being kind, it brings pleasure to my heart.
8. Insert your own random thought here.
So today I drove over a very large bridge to meet up with the MadSnapper in Florida.

She had a cute mystery post yesterday. Lunch at Cracker Barrel and two hours of sharing stories. Thank God for GPS! It was perfect in every way and she was exactly the way I pictured her to be! Thank you Sandra.....
Oh my, I have meet up with three bloggers this year.
Isn't that awesome?

I love V-8, too. It is how I survived the summer that I was too sick to eat. It's great!
I read a creepy article earlier about Florida and alligators eating people. I hope the alligators aren't anywhere near where you wander about.
How cool that you have been able to meet several of your blogging buddies!
Have a blessed day!
Suzanne and I both like V-8. We grew up with it. It would be nice to have a lake house in the family. Well really anything that was still in the family where we could go and have happy memories.
Have a great week.
I love meeting blogger friends in real life!
That bridge is beautiful!! Glad you had fun with another blogger friend.
That's so fun that you got to meet one of your blogger friends! Glad you're enjoying yourself in that warm Florida sunshine!
I must say your lunch date is quite attractive. HE HE HE... had a lot of fun and great shot of the Skyway Bridge. i forgot to ask if the toll gate was still like i said it would be.
i would never never never jump in a lake of any kind, or walk down that dock with no handrails... for number 3 i have already done all of that, that is me in a nutshell.
I got all of my dad's not so good parts of personality, the two of us were poured out of the same mold... no podcast for me because I never Listen, just ask my hubby
I love V-8 juice, too. I say it has to count!! ;-) And we both took business classes in HS to prepare us to work. That is exactly what I did straight from HS. I think it's wonderful that you met up with Sandra and had such a good time. That bridge is cool. Stay kind and be blessed! :-)
That is neat that you got to meet up with a blogger yesterday and that you've met 3 so far this year! It definitely is fun to do! I'm not sure about driving over that bridge though :)
I have a morning routine but only because I'm still working. Not sure what it would be if I wasn't as things seem to go to "pot" on the weekend when I don't have to be somewhere, LOL :)
I'm sure you'll be enjoying spending Father's Day with your dad :)
betty
Wine...LOL cute answer.
Three bloggers, how fun! And the year is only 1/2 over. ;-)
I love the photo of the bridge.
Loved the blog and the pictures. Is that the bridge in the Tampa area?
Ann and I met up with Stephanie last month. Have not met many blogger friends so it was really special. Maybe one day I will get to California Debby?
That is awesome! I love Cracker Barrel and that bridge is beautiful. Have a great rest of the week :)
Hours later, I'm still ROFLAO at your 'fruity' drink response. (Guess I'll have to amend my declaration that I never partake in any sort of fruit.)
Beautiful shot of the Sunshine Skyway. 'Wish I had a dollar for every time I drove it when I'd go visit my mom!
PS - V8? Thanks for the reminder; I need to put that on my shopping list! :)
Hey Debby! I said wine as my fruity drink! LOL That is so cool you have been meeting up with bloggers. Too bad Texas is so far away! Have a great weekend!
I'm here from Sandra's blog after I read you two met at Cracker Barrel...how fun.
By the way, just as she said...you two ARE two of Charlie's Angels!! Both of you have fun posts.
Oh and, one more thing...I too love oj with EXTRA PULP!
I came over from Sandra's blog to say hi. I've yet to meet any blogger friends but if I got the chance Sandra would be one of the first on my list
Terri from Your Friend From Florida will be here next week and we are going to meet for lunch! I'm so excited! It's my first blog meet! :) How's your trip so far?
You are so lucky to have met Sandra! And I like Sangria - Margarita's - too! And I do agree - clean up as you go - makes it better for everyone!
Your father sounds like a wonderful person, as do you.
It sounds like you are having a great time while in Florida :) Enjoy!
Kathy (Reflections)
That's awesome that you got to meet a blogging friend and spend some time together. I've met one of mine in person and later this summer a friend is going to ride up to Canada with me to meet another. I'm so excited!
Ha ha - wine is my favorite fruity beverage, too!
Cool cottage on the lake - what a great place to be abel to take your kids.
awwww! so glad you met madsnapper sandra! i got to the last photo and had to check which blog i was on for a moment... :)
enjoy your time in fla. the lake you chose sure looks pretty.
I don't suppose our lakes in New England are much different than Huntley Lake. Your rendezvous with another blooger seemed like a great adventure. Have a great rest of the week.
I think it is wonderful that you've met other bloggers, I'd love to do that myself. If you are ever in north GA, I'd love to meet with you. This is my first Hodgepodge, I enjoyed getting to know a little about you.
Cheers!
Lori in Blue Ridge, GA
Yeah to meeting more bloggy friends! Love it!
