WEDNESDAY HODGEPODGE #356

Thank you Joyce.
To play along click HERE

1. January 29th is National Puzzle Day. Do you enjoy puzzles? What kind (crossword, jigsaw, sudoku, etc)?  How often do you work a puzzle?

Yes I enjoy Jigsaw puzzles but I haven't done any in a few years. I do however enjoy Circle-a-Word. I don't do them as often as I should.

2. Something you currently find 'puzzling'?

Why in the world did I have to collect and buy so many things over the years?

However, more importantly then that is why our government is not taking care of things that need immediate attention and have needed it for a long time now.  They are letting us down and I'm scared.

3. What's your go-to dish to take to someone who needs a meal (new baby, bereavement, etc)?

I don't have one. Haven't done that in years. I would probably buy them a DoorDash gift card.

4. Do you watch any HGTV and/or The Food Network? If so, what's your favorite program there?

We do love Home Town and we watch Guy Fieri's Diners, Drive-Ins and Dives.

5.  Wrap up your January in five words, with a five word phrase, or with a five word sentence.

Birthday, engagement and perfect echocardiogram. 💗

6. Insert your own random thought here.

I'm still working on getting Christmas put away. I have filled three bins for charity and a bag of stuffed animals. Still have about 4 bins to go through to see what I don't want to keep anymore since they still have stuff in them which I didn't put out. Then what I did put out, which is in a bedroom at the front of the house, will be packed up. This is a very large project for me. Hopefully I will have it done soon.

I can't always get to it because I also have laundry and housework to do also. I dusted 4 rooms and dry mopped the floors to collect all the dust bunnies that like to show up. Then I have days when I am down or not feeling well enough to do it.

I don't do puzzles of any kind, but I should get the circle a word, to help my memory. thanks for the reminder. mother used to do all of the ones mentioned here.

Good for you making progress. Three bins is a good start! Just keep at it and before you know it you'll be on the other side of the cleanout. I'm so glad you got a good report from the doctor! Have a nice day.

I have some of those cute snowmen. I am looking for the one that has the penguin and puppy on it if you are letting those go.

Good job on the progress on your Christmas project! That takes a lot of time.

I like to send a gift card too for families with a new baby.

Have a good week!

I'm not wild about jigsaw puzzles but will do them on occasion. Love to do word search and circle word games.
This world is very puzzling.
I often make Chicken Divan for someone in need. Its an easy warm up casserole made with rice, chicken and broccoli..very tasty.
Gift cards are great too. Then they can get what they need.
January = CELEBRATIONS, BIRTHDAY, ANNIVERSARY, FAMILY GET-TOGETHERS
What happened to January?? Tomorrow is February..how can that be?

I haven't done a puzzle in a really long time. I was going to buy one not too long ago until I saw the price on them.
Can't say that I have a go to dish either. I've never been very good about taking meals to people.

Wow! That's a lot of work! Please take care of yourself while you do it. Puzzles -- I do Wordle and Spelling Bee on the New York Times every day. They only yet you do one at a time so there's no danger of spending too much time on them. Of course, my real puzzle is learning Spanish and that's going well.

Take care! And put as much joy into your life as you can.

I am asking for a puzzle mat and puzzle for my birthday - trying to try some new things.
Getting rid of stuff is so hard!

Good for you for getting those 3 bins ready for charity. That's a good accomplishment. Less to struggle with next Christmas. Happy last day of January to you.

Congratulations on the perfect echo!
Tom's in the hospital right now, but we're still waiting on the results of what they performed this morning. You're doing great!

Seems like the current gov't is more interested in war mongering instead of what's important. They love to make money!

Hi Debby, slow and steady, don't worry to do it all in one go, slow and steady. I know this is not easy. I have to remind myself the same.
Love, Carla

I agree about the government comment. Very scary indeed. I also agree with Carla: slow down, take your time, and don't stress about it. It will get done when it gets done. :)
