2. January 23rd is National Pie Day...will you celebrate? Do you like pie? What's your favorite?
No I won't be celebrating. I do like pie and pumpkin pie is my favorite.
3. Tipping. What are your thoughts, expectations, as to who, when where? Do you appreciate a store/restaurant giving a 'suggested amount'? Have you ever left an extravagant tip?
I don't recall leaving and extravagant tip but I normally tip 20%.
4. Share with us one household 'tip' that works for you.
I can't think of anything but look forward to reading everyone's answers.
5. Influencers on social media are people who've built a reputation for their knowledge and expertise on a particular subject. Do you follow any influencers online? Have you made a purchase or tried something new because of that 'influence'? If there's one you particularly enjoy tell us who they are and why you enjoy them.
Wow, I am certainly striking out today. My answer is no for each questions. Before there was all of this social media I did enjoy following a few people on QVC and probably bought what they were selling.
6. Insert your own random thought here.
We went to Fogo De Chao on Saturday to celebrate Adam's birthday. It is a Brazilian Steakhouse and they had never been before. I ate at one in Las Vegas once and Mark has eaten at several when he was working.
They go around from table to table for as long as you are there with large skewers of meat that they slice off for you and they have an amazing salad bar. I didn't take any photos while we were there. I was a good girl because of my high cholesterol and I ordered salmon.

that last photo is as sweet as sugar. beautiful family foto. I am with you, total blank on all today. none of these pertains to me. the blanks I draw are why i don't particpate in the question things. i can't do a decent job interview because if asked a question, I draw a blank. I need time to think. I just thought of one, I like the online pick your tip when I order pizza. it gives a small amount, 5, 10 and 20 percent to pick from. I do the 20..
Your family photos always brighten my day, Debby. Thank you and have a blessed day!
I have never tried one of those restaurants, but I think I might like it. Happy Birthday to your son!
Okay, I'm definitely putting Fogo De Chao on my 2024 "to do" list. A carnivore's delight!
Adam has such a beautiful family!
I love the photos today Debby, they always make me smile.
Have a great rest of the week.
Carla
Hi Debby, We are going to Las Vegas in April and stay at the Marriott Grand Chateau. There is the mall next door and a restaurant that serves meat like that. I will have to try it. There is usually a long line at dinner. We usually eat at Oceans for lunch because it is cheap and the food is good. Great photo of James!
I have never picked a word of the year nor have I ever celebrated National pie day. My favorite is cherry though.
I do tip but if the service wasn't worthy of it I won't leave one.
I hate the word influencer and I won't even read what they have to say. I honestly think it's a bit crazy that people will rush out and buy things because a particular person says they're "the" thing.
Can't say that I have any household tips.
Love the last picture of James with his mom and dad.
Yes I have a word of the year it is Acceptance and it is down to my grandchild Sam that I chose this word even though I don' t understand why Sam wants this or that but I accept him for who he is.
I like pies, apple pie with ice cream or custard and the good old Aussie meat pie with some tomato sauce.
Tipping isn't done here so I know nothing about it
My mum once told me when the house is a mess and you look around and wonder where to start you should stop thinking and just star doing.
Nope influencers don't influence me
What should one carry from one year to the next
My most treasured things such as
Smiles from love ones, kind words from all
I will leave behind thoughts unjust and criticism unneeded
I love pumpkin pie with whipped cream too! I love pies - they don't love me.
We have and have been to Fogo De Chao - here in Atlanta - it is good but very $$$$$$$! I do try to tip 20%. If the service is horrible 15% I guess.
The pictures of your family are just beautiful!
What a beautiful little family! I have not been to a steakhouse like that, but my family loves them! Have a cozy evening, my friend.
I've been to a couple of the 'all you can' eat Brazillian places. My son-in-law loves them. Good for you ordering salmon though. Normally they have nice salad bars too. Glad you had a fun night out!
What sweet photos...James is such a doll.
I enjoy Brazillian food.
Wonderful pictures of the family! Sounds like a wonderful Birthday dinner. I've been to that kind of restaurant before, and it is always SO good! speaking of cholesterol, I had gone off my statin for a while, but the numbers are back up so high that I can't stay off in good conscience. My Dr. was really concerned for me, so I guess I will go back on it and see how I do. I honestly haven't been able to tell much difference either way, so I guess I have to "bite the bullet" and take the medicine. I'm not very good at eating a really low cholesterol diet I guess. Take care my friend. So glad you had a nice time with the family.
It would be fun to go to that restaurant, but I'm like you...I would order salmon and a salad. As usual, beautiful pictures of James. I'm glad he lives so close. ❤️
Fogo de Chao sure looks like fun...and those cupcakes look quite tasty too.
I always start out full of hope for the new year and have a word but I have to admit I let it slide.
I will try to be more INTENTIONAL this year.
I do like pie and pumpkin and French Silk are my favorites.
I do tip 18 to 20% usually, but if the service is really bad they don't get a tip..why should they?
Do the next thing... a little project here and there will eventually get the deed done.
Dislike the word Influencers and just because someone is a celebrity or famous for some reason, isn't the reason I will try or buy something.
My family are beef eaters and have been to that restaurant before..so good but too expensive for our wallets.
Sweet family photos.
Sue
Sweet photos of James and handsome parents! We have been to one of those types of restaurants in Seattle way back when. Happy Hodgepodge to you. I'm late in getting around. Yesterday was full from beginning to end...
We've been to a Fogo De Chao....so good!
Such sweet photos. Happy Birthday Adam.
We went to one many many years ago when we were in Aruba.
