So five days after Easter I am finally putting away the china thinking about how much I still love it 37 years later. It makes its best impression on the Easter table each year because of its Spring pattern. It got me thinking about other things throughout our home that have history. The dining room furniture belonged to my husband's grandparents. His Nana was born in 1900 so you know this furniture has a history. I adore this furniture.
Then we have a hutch from my grandparents and it blends right in with our family room furniture. We specifically looked for furniture that would blend with this hutch honoring its past. (Crate and Barrels mango wood furniture was a perfect match)
Then there is the sewing machine in our hall entrance way. Yes it's a Singer and my grandfather used this very machine to do his tailoring. Above this sewing machine is a grandmother clock which I purchased about 29 years ago from money given to me after her passing. It proudly hangs above her husbands sewing machine.
Then I also have the wooden ironing board which I am sure my grandfather used with his tailoring but it is known to me as my grandmother's ironing board.
Honoring the past with furniture is easy for me because of these beautiful pieces which I have the distinct pleasure of showing off in my home. These pieces are my present day and I can only hope that our children will honor our past with these beautiful pieces of furniture by placing them in their home someday.

I love your antiques. It took clicking on the last picture to enlarge it before I could figure out what it was.
Also - - - I don't know what template you had before this one, but some of those really fancy ones are way too fancy for me too and besides, they take FOR EVA to load.
Besides - - - this template is so classic, it blends so well with all your antiques.
Those sewing machines are awesome! I have been promised one but they are SO heavy we haven't got it to my house.
