We are home from our vacation to Mammoth Lakes, California. It was a wonderful trip. We have been doing this trip for well over 10 years now. For the last six years we have been staying at Woods Lodge. It took us many years to get in and now we have first choice each year for the same week. So this is our annual trip. I just love it, even though the elevation is hard on my asthma. (My weight doesn't help either) I pretty much sit on the porch and read all week while my husband goes hiking. Oh how I wish I could still do that. Woods Lodge is on Lake George and above Lake George is Crystal Lake which you can hike to. Woods Lodge is 9,200 feet in the High Sierras. Very secluded. So Crystal Lake runs into Lake George, which runs into Lake Mamie, which runs into Lake Mary, which runs into the Twin Lakes. There are so many interesting sites to see. So I am going to share just a few pictures from the week. Don't want to bore you too much.
We of course picked up Skye on the way home and she was acting very strange. I was so afraid that we did some kind of damage to this poor puppy. She didn't want to look at us, wouldn't respond to her name and wouldn't give me any kisses. So we get home, let her in the front door and all was well with the world. She ran all around, went to her toy box taking out toys and then rang her bell to go outside. I really was happy to see her so happy and back at home with us.
HAPPY TO BE HOME

IF YOU LOOK CLOSELY ON THE RIGHT YOU WILL SEE THE NAME OF ERIC SCOTT FRAIT. THIS IS THE PENNY PINES PROGRAM I DID WHEN OUR FRIENDS SON PASSED AWAY IN 2000. WE WENT TO CHECK OUT THE SIGN AND THE PINES. IT DID MY HEART GOOD TO SEE HIS NAME STILL UP ON THE SIGN.

A HERD OF ELK ON 395 ON OUR WAY HOME SUNDAY
So our daughter and son-in-law spent Monday - Friday with us and we had a wonderful time. We always play games at night and of course laugh allot. My son and his best girl were not able to come this year since they were just moving into their new condo in LA during that week. I am glad to be home and I did miss all of you.

How beautiful! That looks so serene & peaceful. Just what you needed! Skye also looks very happy to be home! :)
Oh how wonderful. I've visited Mammoth so many times during the winter but never during the summer. I too would love to stop on by and see the sites perhaps next summer. After all Yosemite is only another 40 plus minutes north.
May have to make a plan out of it. Thanks for sharing all your lovely pictures and so glad that Skye is loving the fact you are home.

Beautiful! I don't think I've ever seen any pictures of where you go.
That is a completely gorgeous area. That kind of setting is right up my alley - the mountains, the trees, the lake - I cannot think of anything more perfect!! How fun that you get to go each year.
The cabin looks so rustic and cute and the view from the porch - Hey I would just want to sit and look and read there too!!
I love the little dog cookies you brought back for Skye - the moose one especially.
