If you saw my post last Thursday you would have noticed that I have been getting myself all worked up over blogging. So I have been playing around in Reader for about a month now getting to know how to use it. I have since been making folders and putting the blogs I follow into these folders. So now when I go to read posts I am reading them in Reader and not from my dashboard anymore. Thank you to Headless Mom for helping me understand Reader. She has tutored me at bowling on Tuesdays.
So my plan now is to read according to my folders. This is not an easy task for someone who just wants to read and comment on all 400 & something people I am following. (hi, my name is Debby and I am a blogaholic & I can't stop pushing that follow button!) See when I do something I go ALL OUT! So I have to c a l m d o w n a n d g o r e a l l y s l o w and so to speak " NIP IT IN THE BUD" before I go CC RR AA ZZ YY !! (I HAVE ALWAYS BEEN REALLY CLOSE TO CRAZY MY WHOLE LIFE) just ask my husband!!!

So here is the plan that I am going to try, especially during the next few months when life always has us running in a millions directions. I will be reading my folder called "A LIST" which consists of the people who follow me in Google Friend Connect and/or the people who are consistent in leaving me comments. After that file comes my "SPECIAL MOM FRIENDS" who are the mothers of angels in heaven who have become friends who are near and dear to my heart.
My other folders read MOTHERS OF ANGELS, FAVORITES, JUST ADDED and WHEN I HAVE TIME. (just added has to be looked at a few times before I put them into a permanent folder) They will be read in that order depending on the day and time I have. I just can't continue to spend my entire day (6 to 8 hours) on my computer. Now I haven't gotten this perfected yet because I am sure that I have left people off my A List who should be there. So if you haven't seen my comments in awhile, please leave me a comment so I can get you in the right folder. You are all very important to me and thank you for being my friend in this thing called BLOG.
Also I agree with blueviolet of at A Nut in a Nutshell who posted this recently. She kind of beat me to the punch but I've had this post ready for about 2 weeks now. Anyway go on over and read her post too about her Must Read folder. She has over 1080 followers!

Four hundred blogs to read? Wow, that's a job in itself! I hope this way it will be a bit easier for you. Good luck with it all...
I am struggling to find a good way to do this too! It is so hard because I also want to comment on EVERYONES blogs but it takes way too much time!!

Good for you!!! It's hard for me to read all the ones that I want to read and I only have 20 or so. I could spend hours on this ole' computer, but had to make limits too. So I allow myself a time limit and try to not go over 8am. The only bad thing is, I am waking up earlier and earlier just to read blogs.... Heck... who needs sleep anyway.

Good for you! I'm glad you took the time to get it organized. I never used dashboard, even in the beginning, but isn't google reader great?!!
I think it's why I wake up so late every morning now. It's after 9am and I haven't even written a post yet, because I just got up. I think I'm exhausted from reading blogs the day before.
I'm pretty sure I'm taking a few days off this week. I just haven't decided which ones, other than Thursday.
I've been thinking of switching to a reader as well, but really like going to exact blogs to check out designs and art, etc. Hope it works for you.
I'll keep reading as long as you keep posting. :) I may not always reply but know I've read it. :)
Okay, so this reader sounds pretty cool. I am following too many people to keep up with myself. It's hard between working, teaching, and mothering! I could spend ALL day trying to read everything.

Wow, sounds like a really good plan. I have never used reader and just use my inbox as my comment command center. Hope it works for you!!!!! You can put me wherever you feel I should be :)

I don't know how people do it I love to comment on all of them, but I really try extra hard to make sure I at least comment on the ones that comment on mine. Nothing feels worse then when someone doesn't comment back ... LOL yes I know not everyone can ... but still its a downer ... LOL poor sport is coming out .. haha

You didn't use Reader?! You must have been going crazy. I have so many people I try to read that I end up feeling guilty when I don't so I know what you're talking about. Go slow! It's not supposed to be a job, ya know!
It sounds like you have it all figured out and that is a good thing. To spend 6-8 hours a day on the computer is to not spend 6-8 hours a day enjoying life, making a difference, and living.

I love my blog reader. I have mine in categories, too. I have favorites, photographers, decorating, Food, other and Time Out.
My Time Out folder is one of my best creations. It's where I put blogs that have gone on a tangent that I'm not too happy with, but I don't really want to delete them, but I also don't want them to be in my face every day. This folder was overflowing during the Presidential election LOL These blogs usually get put back into the regular folder after awhile, but I have been known to delete them after a month or two.
Tee hee- you make my head spin!!! I don't know much about the folders and things that you are talking about but it sounds like a good idea- with the new babe- and zero sleep I am not able to keep up with my reading like I used to- (I used to read after kids were tucked in bed... now one is up every three hours- he's putting a cramp in my style! tee hee)
