1. How good are you at delaying gratification? I'm not really sure, I usually want things yesterday!
2. Maybe a marshmallow wouldn't be too difficult a temptation for you. What food (or anything else) would be most tempting? I think that Chicago Gino's pizza would be tempting.
3. On a scale of 1-10 (10 being saintly) how patient are you? I am usually a 9.
4. Have you ever waited for something in life only to be disappointed upon realization of the goal/object/etc.? Yes.
5. Are you a person who takes shortcuts? Sure if the end result is the same.
6. Which line is hardest to wait in? Post office. I am always prepared and no one else seems to know what they are doing.
7. Did you wait to discover the gender of your unborn child until its birth? I didn't have a choice at the time but if I was having a child today I would wait until its birth.
8. Are you more patient with children or the elderly? I know that I was patient with my aunt. I haven't been around small children in awhile but I am sure I would be patient.
9. Did you ever sneak a peek at a present? NEVER
10. What is the longest you've ever waited for anything? I waited six years to get my husband back.
11. Who has more patience, you or your significant other? ME, hands down!
12. Which of the following songs about waiting is your pick for the best? (OK, you may substitute another, if you like.)
A) Anticipation by Carly Simon
B) The Waiting by Tom Petty
C) Right Here Waiting for You by Richard Marx
D) Wait for Me by Rebecca St. James
I'm not sure I know most of them. I am sure I have heard them but the only one I remember is Anticipation so that is my vote.
So head on over to 2nd Cup of Coffee.

If you usually want things yesterday, I bet this whole rug fiasco is about to make you CRAZY!! Any news on that?
I totally sneak peeks.

Hope you have an awesome day.
Hugs,
andrea

Great thoughts about you. Enjoyed getting to know your personality.
You are awesome.
Is it sad that I know most of those songs?
And I don't look at gifts either. I like the anticipation of the surprise!
I'm working on being patient. So glad to hear you got your husband back! My aunt waited a long time too.
You are patient!! Wow that is awesome. A trait I really wish I had.
WOW to number 10!!! Have you shared that story here?
Just the wings missing to make you a saint then. I knew it. A real proper saint as a (cyber) friend.

You just might be a mirror image of myself! I have to agree with you an almost every single one!
This is so cute.. I had never seen this before. I will have to check it out some time. Thanks for sharing your thoughts today.
I could use really use your patience some days with the 2 little ones! ;-)
I didn't find out the gender of my kiddos either, even though I could and would never sneak a peak at a present! I LOVE being surprised! :-)
Loved you answer to #10!
I've never seen this meme before-- how much fun! I am always impressed by women who answer #8 the way you did. I would NEVER EVER have the patience to wait until birth to find out the gender of my children.
I guess you're better at delaying gratification than you thought!

I love your answers to #6 & #10.
Enjoy the rest of your week.
Debby, I'm so curious about the 6 year wait to get your husband back. I think you probably have a lot more patience than I have. Enjoyed reading about you. laurie
Just curious, where in the Chicago area were you located. I graduation from West Leyden in Northlake, Pretty close to Ohare Airport. Melrose Park, Schiller Park, Franklin Park. Those were my old stomping grounds. Lived in Northlake until 1979 then moved to Arkansas.
until next time... nel
Oh I love this post today.
Oh and I am terrible at delaying gratification, but I did wait to find out the sex of both my girls! Best suprise ever!
I picked Anticipation for the same reason.
