RAIN RAIN GO AWAY......

I have recently discovered that I cannot handle stress very well as I get older but I know that I have so much to be thankful for. I have had pain in my life but nothing compared to others pain. I know this yet it was my pain and it hurt. I have had experience in my life that drained me emotionally and I don't seem to have the patience to be strong.

This post isn't about pain but how I handle stress now. The littlest things get me overwhelmed and then I feel foolish for acting the way I did. I mentioned that I have felt tested lately. Life is always about tests I just don't like having them anymore. I do know that many of you would like to be in my shoes because you are drowning inside. ((HUGS))

Skye was having some issues with throwing up the last two weeks. Making this short we think we have figured it out. Either we did or what she had has passed. It really had me worried. She is never sick. She had an appointment for her shots and checked out wonderfully. (They said she has beautiful teeth and said she is a very pretty Cairn Terrier) Yes I am a proud mama. Did not show any signs of illness other then throwing up stomach acid. She played, ate, drank, peed and pooped like normal. She would vomit, collapse and then be herself for several days. She has been good for over a week now and it appears that if I put her in her kennel she is working herself into a stomach ache. So we are going to start leaving her loose or in the laundry room. She had me very worried. ~sigh~

Then we had the fires which really didn't scare me to much but it made me think how quickly you can lose everything you have. Then last Saturday afternoon my daughter and I took the dogs out. All of I sudden I saw a large swarm of bees. We grabbed the dogs and ran in the house. They flew around for about 20 minutes and then they landed on a very tiny palm tree. I didn't handle this well at all. Yelling at my husband to get rid of them, put the hose on them, call somebody to fix it, do something!!! (I apologize honey)

For me it was all about Skye because that is here favorite corner of the yard. You let her out and that is where she runs to find the birds, lizards, etc. NOT BEES! So we knew at that point that Skye would have to be leashed. So we did a little research and found out that it is what they call a swarm. At Wikipedia we read "Swarm clusters, hanging off of a tree branch, will move on and find a suitable nesting location in a day or two." So I calmed down a little bit and within two days almost to the hour they were gone! My daughter forgot about the leash thing and Skye actually went up to them and barked. Two hours later they were gone, do you think she scared them away? ~sigh~

So my DH went in for a regular routine physical. All went well until they called him in to talk about his blood work results. See we have been seeing this doctor forever and he never calls you in. If your cholesterol is high they tell you over the phone, blood sugar high they tell you over the phone, hormones off balance he tells you over the phone, etc. So wanting him to come in had me very worried. So six days later we found out that his thyroid numbers are high. Like off the charts high. Nothing of real concern right now, running another test and most likely some pills to regulate it. ~sigh~

Then I banged my toe really bad and I am hurting. It has turned purple and I hope that it will feel better before I bowl in Vegas on the 5th! Actually saw the doctor, all is well just a very bad sprain. Speaking of that the day I leave they are turning our power off from 9am until 3pm so I have to get ready extra early that day. ~bummer~

I guess typing it out makes me sound kind of wimpy doesn't it! I was thinking I was living in my own little version of Revelations! (we even had a weird rain storm on Sunday) See I told you I can't handle the stress anymore and this a perfect example of "Don't Sweat The Small Stuff." But when it was happening it didn't feel small to me. I have to say thank you to God for always being there for me. I am thankful for all.

I am always thankful for all but here is something that has me pretty darn mad!!! After bowling on this league for something like 18 years, finally getting into first place and this year they are not giving out trophies :( (This is not going off without some letters from me to Bruns*ick!)

......COME BACK ANOTHER DAY!

Girrrrl! Stubbing your toe is MAJOR I am just like you, after all the years it would be me to win the year of "budget cuts" and not get a trophy! Keep your head up sista! Keep your eyes on God and it will all work out--it really is working out even when you can't tell! Thanks for the follow!

Not wimpy at all! I think that feelings aren't right or wrong- they just are. Sad is sad. Worry is worry and to try to compare them to someone else's sad or worry- well- it can't really be done because it's yours. Go easy on yourself (easier said than done!) I hope that everything gets better and that life feels easier- stress is no fun! Thinking of you!
Hugs!

Well, all I can say is you've had a tremendous amount of crap to deal with in the last few weeks. I think most of us women deal with stress by venting about it. Guys clam up, while women explode. Sounds like you're handling it just the way you need to. We were living in Denver once and looked out our front window and the sky looked dark and weird. We had a swarm hanging on a tree right there. It was creepy and strange and I was so glad when they took off. When our dogs are sick, that's probably when I freak the most, too. They can't really tell you what's wrong or how they feel. Very scary. Sounds like your husband's thyroid issue can be handled, which is good news. Man, that toe looks uncomfortable but you will bowl like a bowling alley goddess and hopefully get a trophy from those schmucks! Sending positive vibes your way ...

OUCH! That toe looks painful. Hope it's better by your bowling tournament in Vegas!

WOW, sounds pretty stressful to me too! I am the same way. The older I get the more things seem to stress me, but I seem to get over quicker than I used to. I don't hold on to it as long.
Sorry bout your toe. That looks so painful. Hope it heals quickly.
Hugs,
Tara

At any moment in my life, the past four years, I have someone that I care about in the hospital, going in for a transplant, bad bloodwork, someone successfully recovering from a transplant or someone who is not doing well. The first few months everyone's medical condition affected me in the heart and lungs. I could hardly breathe and I cried often. now I just love those folks and wish them the best. Now that my husband has the high bloodwork numbers, I'm trying to go into the same mode. I'm just going to love him and wish him the best. I cannot change his labs, but I can listen to what the doctors tell us to do, follow the instructions given, breathe a lot and not project worry into the situation.

For me, being a part of a group of people who are constantly in stress and serious medical issues has really taught me to not get caught up in the drama, but to love and honor the person, not the disease (or issue.)

This probably has nothing to do with your foot, or the bees or the fires, but it is how I deal with stress.

Much love to you.

Bees are the worst! They get really bad around my sister's pool & take a lot of the fun out of it!

I am so glad that you figured out how to make Skye feel a little better. She sounds very loved! Just another member of the family...I love that!

Some days are just bad and everything will go wrong. And then there's fantastic days. Hopefully the latter will outnumber the first by about a gazillion!

Good luck with your toe (which by the way goes great with your nail polish: see, another plus)...

Not whimpy at all but let's find some positives.

Bees, you all got to be in the house together and learned about bees.

Rain? will help with the fires.

Fires? will help with some of the over grown weeds.

Bowling? YAY! friends and a good time.

Trophies? you get to excerise your "Dear so and so..." skills.

It's all good! :) hugs!

sorry about your toe, it does look painful! I hope it is somewhat better by next week's bowling trip :)

that was interesting about the bees and their sudden coming and their equal leaving

poor Skye with her recent tummy issues. I think when our pets are under the weather it does stress us out because we don't know what is wrong with them and it bothers us for them to be hurting

I try to remember when going through stressful times that none of this caught God by surprise and he is in control and has me covered. It does help a lot of times to work through the anxiety I might feel

hugs to you

you certainly are going through a lot!! thanks for being real here. i think alot of people slap on a happy face and don't let their guards down and just splay out that life isn't all great all of the time.
sorry about your toe. that looks really painful. i did that in october last year, but i broke mine (same toe) and it took forever to heal. so glad yours is sprained. maybe it'll heal faster and in time for your bowling tourney.

i would have had to repaint my toes before i could take a picture. my pedicure is in a state of disarray. and that's being polite!

hope things look up for you. in the mean time, i hope you have a relaxing memorial day weekend.

Oh my what a week you have had. I am not one who does well with stress either. It hard to deal with at times.. I just try and breathe. With all that has been going on in my house I feel your pain. I hope the toe gets better. Yeah for your bowling.. Glad the bees left.. Have an amazing rest of your weekend.

The bees are swarming. My son is in to beekeeping and wants beehives in our backyard but dad says no. He attends beekeeping meetings, and the person in charge actually goes and catches the bees. Also, I am glad that Skye is doing better. It is so hard when your dog is sick. Also, glad that your house is fine. Fires are very scary, especially when they are invading your territory.

I'm sorry to hear about all the stressful events that have been happening lately. I'm 36 and don't handle it well either. And maybe to some this may sound like "small stuff" but I think its all relative. And the fact that all of this was happening in a short period of time makes it really stressful too. And your toe...ouch!!! At least you have a beautiful pedicure...small consolation, I know.

I would have freaked over those bee's! I think Skye totally scared them off...she let them know that was her territory! :)

I really hope things start looking up for you soon Debby...I will keep your husband in my prayers...that it will be a simple matter of taking medicine to clear up this thyroid problem. Big hugs to you sweetie!

Technodoll said...

Awe sweetie, life will hand you only what you can handle but yeah, sometimes you want to shout "enough, already! give me a break!" - but you know, it sounds like you are coping just spendidly despite everything.

*hugs* and take a deep breathe, this too shall pass!

Oh, your poor little toe!!! I hope it's ok for bowling (and gambling, hehe).

That swarm of bees was CRAZY!!! I've never heard of such a thing and it's weird how they moved on like clockwork. I hope Skye is over her funny tummy problems. :(

Lori R. said...

Okay, that swarm of bees would have had me in quite a tizzy! That's scary!!! and ouch on the toe thing,,, it looks sore! and the bowling thing, is like me when I won a turkey (I NEVER WIN ANYTHING) and when I picked up the frozen thing at the grocery store, I dropped it on my foot and limped for 2 weeks.... So look at it as purging, just purging all those thoughts so you can have a better upcoming week! Best of luck in Vegas!!!! That would be fun just to go for a few days xxx♥xxx
