Linda over at 2nd Cup of Coffee needs a (well deserved) break from Random Dozen so now I have to think for myself ~ OMG ~ what's a girl supposed to do! (hopefully it will be back in July)
On Monday I said I was going to have some pictures from Sunday's dinner at our house. Here they are!
I made The Pioneer Woman Cooks recipe for Patsy's Blackberry Cobbler from Ree Drumond. It was a hit with the family. (I didn't have self-rising flour so I did a baking powder addition to my flour.) It was very easy to make and I will make this again.
The asparagus recipe is from Simply Recipes, we like it and have made it before. Years ago back in Chicago we had a neighbor who lived across the street who was from Germany. Boy could she cook. She would make parmesan monkey bread from scratch and I have made her recipe many times. Now I just buy Bridgeford parkerhouse style frozen rolls and do the same thing. Roll them in butter and then into parmesan cheese. I am still playing around with this to get them to rise correctly. We also had steak, mashed potatoes and corn.
Just to round things off we also had some Daiquiri's with the frozen mix that we buy. We also played Wii and a new game called Sequence although the game isn't new to me. My sister actually made this board game herself in Florida years ago so I have played it before. It was a fun Sunday :)
Charlie with a ball in his mouth that has a moustache attached. Skye telling Charlie a secret! (I don't know how many times I have to tell her that it's not nice to tell secrets:) Both of them sleeping in my office as I type away at the computer. Skye in her bed in the hallway which is so funny. My daughter had vacuumed the family room leaving her toy box and bed in the hallway. She was tired and didn't care where her bed was. (a crazy tongue shot!) You should see her play with this ball. She goes from room to room pushing it with her nose. I need to get this on video.

I love to cook, but since I am on my own, more often than not I get a pizza from the freezer! I do go out to dinner quite a bit as well though (thanks to the job).
You have to love animals don't you: they are so funny!
the food looks delicious!!
I have some fresh blackberries in the fridge! I'm gonna make this recipe today! Thanks.
Where did you get your colander and pie pan?? I love them both!
Don't you love the Pioneer Woman cookbook? I haven't made the Blackberry Cobbler yet. Your photo collages are great. I like the idea of Parmesan Monkey
Bread. I'll try that at our next family dinner if I can remember to allow time for it to rise. Love, love, love your 4-legged babies. Such wonderful pictures!!!
Everything looks good. Glad you had a nice day.
Oh this was a great post.. I loved seeing all of the dogs. The food I just want to come on over and eat it up.. Have a great day..
My hubby made PWs Strawberry shortcake cake.. omg, it is soooo good! I am not sure if it is in the cookbook (we have it) but it is on the website for those that don't have the book! :)
That cobbler looks delish! I have the book I need to break it out!
The dogs telling secrets is so cute. Yes, you do need to make a video!

Everything looks delicious and sounds so simple to prepare. I also love using Bridgeford frozen dough in a pinch. I love the photos of your pups. They're so adorable and you really captured their personalities so well. I love that mustache ball. I need to find one of those for my Domino who has a ball and a squeaky toy fetish.
that blackberry thing looks awesome. want some now! and cute skye pictures.
It looks great. I love the blog wallpaper with the ties. Wonderful.

Yummy looking dinner!
I love when you put pictures up of the meals you make...they look like they belong in a magazine! It all looks so delicious! I just had my husband buy some asparagus in an attempt to get Gia to eat more veggies. I hadn't yet decided how I was going to prepare them so I'm very excited to try the recipe you shared!
The only thing better than pictures of your delicious looking dinners, are pictures of Skye...she is darling. I absolutely love that "telling a secret" one...so cute!!
Well I didn't know you were such a great cook! See what a break from routine leads to? We love Sequence, play it all the time. Now if only I could make monkey bread and blackberry cobbler...
The food looks great! I also made the blackberry cobbler, but mine wasn't blackberry. haha! I made it with blueberries since they're in season and I didn't want to use frozen blackberries. It was delish!
The pups are so stinkin adorable! The mustache ball is hysterical and I bet Charlie playing with the red ball is too funny. =)
that cobbler looks AMAAA-AAAZING... yummy!!!
and skye and charlie look like they have the greatest and best times together!
Daiquiris and games sound like a blast to me!
yum on that parmesan monkey bread; yum on the other food too! dinner sounded so delicious! Sequence is a fun game; how clever of your sister to make her own board too!
betty
Oh that looks so yummy, all of it. The pic of Sky and the toy box is adorable. The ball pushing reminds me a clip from America's Funniest home Videos in the late 80s? where the dog is pushing a rock? Pushing a rock pushing a rock pushing a rock? turn it around turn it around turn it around.... :)
THe food you made looks great! No wonder the cobbler was a hit!
I'm glad Charlie and Skye get along so well. Cute pictures!
My husband and I used to play Sequence all of the time. Maybe we will get out our board again soon.
Hugs Debby!
The food looks delicious...will try the monkey bread, I know my family will love it.
As always, the doggies are adorable!
