So it's 3:55pm on Tuesday afternoon and I'm ready for a glass of wine but I better wait. I have five handkerchiefs to get out first. I had taken six with me to Florida and the rest I promised as soon as I got home. I am pretty much unpacked but not totally since I'm just going to pack for Mammoth Lakes pretty soon. The reason for the wine is that after three weeks in Florida I am finally seeing the end of the tunnel on my reader. Of course Mammoth Lakes will get me behind again. I will be checking emails but not sure I want to read too many posts. I NEED TO TAKE A VACATION FROM BLOGGING DON'T YOU THINK? (I read and comment on hundreds each day)
So far it looks like Skye will be able to stay home this time and not go to the kennel like last year. (sometimes when the kids move home it's a good thing) It was so hard to leave her last year. Our son-in-law has a trip with his family in early September so he can't go to Mammoth Lakes this year with us. My daughter isn't sure if she is coming up but if she does it will be later in the week with our son, her brother, for a few nights. It's still in the works. She is not going on the trip with her husband and his family because it involves a plane trip to Yellowstone Park. Flying is not her cup of tea!

I was excited to see the growth in the backyard when I got home on Sunday and the umbrella up. Skye was sunbathing today and the dogs next door were crying for me to come over and say hello to them. So like I said earlier I got my reader down to 99, turned on the iron to do my handkerchiefs and opened the best $2.99 dollar bottle of wine to celebrate with. {giggle}
P.S. I have talked with my dad several times. He misses me but is doing good. Eating the lasagna I made for him and went over to the pool to visit with some of his neighbors today. All of your prayers helped him to get well. Thank you.

So glad you had a nice visit with your dad. I know how you feel about leaving Skye.... my life revolves around "what about the dogs?" LOL
Debby,
I know its tough to get back into the swing of things only to be going back out soon. I think we all understand it's OK if you don't stop by and take a few weeks off.
It seems like most people are doing much of the same lately as for me, I was just enjoy the hubby being back home for awhile and now hes off again but locally for a couple of days.
We are just grateful and thankful for all things. Bet your not missing all that humidity.
Love and Hugs ~ Kat
99 readers, how do you do it? I only get to read them once in a while, but you have more followers and bloggers that you touch base with.
It's nice to leave but it's always better to come back, isn't it?
Home sweet home... comfy bed, happy doggy, familiarity.
Glad you're back and YES you need to relax from blogging a bit! Take some time off for YOU!
I'm about to have to leave my dog at a kennel for the first time. I'm dreading it!
I am so happy you are back and safe.. Love all of the pictures. Skye laying on her back is the best. My dog does that also. Glad your Dad is doing great. THanks for my Birthday wish..
I counted a while back since my google reader just says 1000+ next to my unread count - but I counted it all up and I had almost 4000 unread posts. LOL I choose not to catch up anymore. I've clicked the "mark all as read" button, but there are several of my decorating blogs that I like to just scroll through the reader when they get to about a hundred posts. It's just a visual explosion for about 20 minutes. I love it.
Have a great time at Mammoth Lakes!! and glad to hear your Dad is doing well and out visiting with the neighbors. That's wonderful.
Kristin
thanks for stopping by the BB 12 site again. I know Britney is just too whiney and snobby. I can't wait to see what happens tonight.. Have a great day..
I loved your title for this post! My physics teacher in high school used to call 'catch up' time, "tomato time"- the title alone made me smile! Love the pics and so happy that dad is doing well! I hope he turned up the air to eat that lasagna! :-) The pool sounds GREAT!!!!
So good to hear about your Dad! :-)
Have a wonderful time at Mammoth Lakes! It sounds wonderful! :-)
Aha, so the two Debby's have one more thing in common...
The $2.99 bottle of wine!
Have a great time at Mammoth Lakes. And don't forget to post lots of pics...pass the wine and cheese.
Love your yard! Skye looks like he was well taken care of. Glad your dad is better.
Blogging breaks are a good thing. I think that it really either makes you miss it or makes you want to quit! Either way, at least you will know what to do! LOL
We all tend to get ourselves in a habit modes. I know I do. Change is good but sometimes hard to accept. Nice post for today. Thanks for visiting me.
Glad to hear your father is doing well! I had to leave my little buddy(dog) at a kennel twice and at a doggy hotel once, hated it! I couldn't stop worrying about whether or not they were taking good care of him. Fortunately, they were awesome.
when you have a chance stop by. I think you will like my post today..
Looks like Skye is really enjoying all that sunshine! How cute!!
Have a great time on vacation!! And I'm so happy to hear your dad is doing well. I bet it was your lasagna that helped him pull through. ;-)
So glad you got home okay and that your dad is doing much better. I bet he does miss you... I bet Skye has become "velcro dog" because you were gone so long. My cat sticks real close to me when I have been gone even for a day (seperation anxiety). Hope you have a wonderful vaca at Mammoth Lakes... psst... I will be looking for that wine, never hurts to try something new! thanks for visiting me today ♥
