Can you guess what this picture is? Well I am going to tell you so you really don't have to guess. The kids had put their stuff in storage when they moved in and we also put some of our things in storage with them. (had to empty the rooms they are living in) So the storage unit was $70. a month and has been bumped up to $140. so we moved everything into our garage. As you can see I still get to have my car in there. So eventually they may sell some of their items. Anyway it is foolish to pay $140. a month for things that you can replace. Rather save the money and buy new!
So this is just my little gumball machine that sits on my counter top. I am only showing it to you because I wanted to tell you how much I miss the big gumball machine I use to have. I had it for years and bought it back in the 70's. It was yellow with a yellow unique metal base, it was awesome. When we moved a few years ago it got damaged and I had to let it go. We were not able to get replacement pieces for it. I am happy that I have this little one.

I have a Jelly Belly machine that looks much like your gumball machine.
I can't believe they bumped the rental for the storage unit up to $140!!!
That is a whole bunch to have to pay for storage per month! Our garage is packed full of our youngest son's stuff and some of ours too, and we're not as lucky as you, as we can't get either one of our vehicles parked into our double car garage! I am sooo ready to get rid of alot of stuff in there so that we can have our cars parked in the garage, the place we want them to be parked at! Wish me luck!!
Love your bubble gum machine!!
Blessings,
~Lynn
Your yard is beautiful.
That is good that you can still get your car in the garage.
I love your gum ball machine. I used to have a gum ball lamp in Daniel's room years ago. It was so cute.
Once I really moved out, my parents told me (and my brother and sister as well) that we could not come back and they were not a storage place. They gave us everything that was ours. Besides, they have too much stuff themselves.
PS: If I were in need, I could come back to live with my parents. Whether I would want to would of course be question number 1!!!
I love that Gum Ball Machine. My kids would too.
Wow that's a lot to pay for storage. You have a beautiful home.
Caroline
Thank God you drive a Mini! That is a crazy hike in price!!!
I have a gumball machine too one that is on a stand it's so cool looking :)
Oh, The Midge would be jealous of that gum ball machine...
Wow storage is expensive. I think i would rather get rid of the stuff. Yikes!
I used to have a gumball machine like that - so cute - mine was yellow!
Storage fees are outrageous. I paid for a storage unit for a few years. It was crazy.
I love those Norfolk Pines. Good choice!
I love your gumball machine! Too cute!
Wow, that is a lot to pay for storage. Yikes!
You are an angel to be having them with you. My daughter and her hubs moved out of our apartment (attached to our house) yesterday They've lived there for 10 months. I absolutely loved every minute of it. I'm not sure I could say that if they had been living with us.
Have a great week! Love ya!
You may smile, but when I first started my blog (oh, that was many years ago!) I didn't know what to name it... and on my desk was a bubblegum machine pretty similar to yours right there. Inspiration hit, and the Bubblegum Diaries were born.
True story! :-D
Oh my goodness - your flowers AND the your rounded door are amazing Lovely!
My dh's cousin had a lot of things in storage, but was spending a lot of his disability check on storage. Dh said that his cousin can put the belongs at our house, and also that since he was basically homeless, the cousin could live with us for a couple of weeks. Those couple of weeks turned in to 5 months. It wasn't until we asked the cousin to leave, that he worked at getting housing at a homeless shelter. That was about 3 years ago, and just last year, the cousin had an apartment as a part of the homeless relocation. Finally things got moved out of our garage, but we still have more things that need to go. His cousin had a lot of stuff, mostly papers in filing cabinets and junk.
P.S. Sorry for the long comment.
I use to have one of the antique gum ball machines as well. It to got damaged in a move.
That is a tight squeeze, but def not worth the money to store it! Maybe you guys can go through it and donate some of the stuff.
Your bougainvillea is gorgeous and I adore your arched door! Cute gumball machine, too. Makes me think of jawbreakers. =)
really am lovin' that gumball machine.. kinda retro!!
Deb, that's the NEATEST pile of junk I've ever seen! No offense. But I can understand why you don't want to pay the price hike. Our storage is only $40. Still a bargain, I guess.
The bougainvillias look amazing!
Hi Debby, thank you for signing up for the Rooster Party. It is this coming Friday....can't wait to see all your roosters. I hope you have a wonderful time!
Hugs, Barb ♥
Your house is way cute.. Love the gum ball machine.
Have a great day.
I think my mom may still have a gumball machine. We had it growing up and I always took gumballs from it. :)
Yeah, I agree about the storage unit!
I love your front porch!! Fun!
and I love the idea of a gumball machine... but I would use m&m's or jellybeans! =)
Holy "stuff" batman!!! Good luck selling it. (psttttttt ebay/kijiji?)
The bougainvillea (hope I spelled that right) is beautiful!! Such pretty pictures of it.
And that gumball machine...SO cute!! Sorry about your other one, but like you said, at least you have that little one. It's funny what simple things can bring us pleasure, just by looking at them. The gumball machine reminds me of my childhood.
Storage fees are outrageous. We just closed ours down too and put it in my mom's garage!
btw... I know your backyard is beautiful, but now I know that your front yard is too!
So glad you could save that gorgeous greenery! Oh and the bubble gum machine, I have one just like it:)
1. Your home looks BEAUTIFUL!!! Love the blooms!
2. I need to go into the storage renting biz! YIKES!!!!
3. I hope you find another gumball machine like the one you cherished-but the new one looks delish too!
Hugs-
L
Very cool place, I've never had a gumball machine, but have been trying to find an old coffee grinder.
I'm going to have to show this post to Sexy Nerd. "We'll just rent some storage," he says...
I love your bouganvilles, they are really climbing beautifully.....Christine
The gumball machine is cute. Brings back memories of when I was a kid!
