RANDOM DOZEN

HEAD ON OVER AND VISIT LINDA TO PLAY ALONG.

1. What is your favorite Mexican dish?
I usually get cheese enchiladas.

2. When you were a kid, did you get started on your homework right away after school, or did you procrastinate?
To tell you the truth I didn't do much homework or I don't have any memory of doing it. My mother never checked on me, she was deeply depressed and drank. However I did get by with big smiles to my teachers.

3. What is your favorite store for home furnishings?
I have two that I really like. Pottery Barn and Crate & Barrel.

4. When you were young, did you like school lunches?
We went home and ate lunch however I would often go to the candy store because that was my favorite thing to eat.

5. Is religion a crutch?
I don't think of it as a crutch, it's what helps me to cope in this thing called life.

6. In your region, what is the "big" (most popular in the community or state) high school sport?
Haven't got a clue.

7. Do you consider yourself rich?
Rich with blessings. We do have money to live comfortably.

8. Which of these would you have the best chance for success in administering:
A) CPR
B) Heimlich Maneuver
C) Changing a flat tire

None of the above. Well I think I could do CPR because they now have a new proven way to do it. You do not breath into the mouth you just do compressions.

9. Which dance would you prefer to learn & why:
A) Salsa
B) Hip Hop
C) Waltz
D) Swing
I think I would like to Swing Dance.

10. What's the worst news you've ever delivered to someone?
Well when my daughter was going with our current SIL and he was away in the service his mother called us. She was so sad. I thought that something had happened to him. He actually meet a woman and wasn't going to be with my daughter anymore. It was so hard to tell her but like I said he is our SIL so things did turn out in the long run.

11. Name something you learned in college that had nothing to do with classes or academics.
I didn't go to college.

12. New variation on an old question: If there's a song in your head that just won't get out, what is your favorite (or most repeated) line in that song?
"My God is an awesome God He reigns in Heaven above"

That's a great line for #12! I'm fine if that song goes through my head all day!

I'm making chicken enchiladas tonight:) This was fun, love the lyric!

Deb it's scary how many answers of yours would have been very similar had I been filling that out...minus the bit aboutthe SIL.

I've always thought Salsa dancing would be fun.

Have a great day Debby!

We went home for lunch too...it was a different time I guess but my sister and I loved that.

You have a great song stuck in your head!

Insightful answers Debby.
I loved reading them.

I loved school lunches because we always had huge homemade cookies to go with them! I think I have eaten sweets first my entire life!

I didn't go to college either and I'm convinced I haven't suffered for it.....

love the song "stuck" in your head! now I'm wanting some Mexican food. I often wish people would realize religion and faith are two different things, know what I mean? I'm with you, its not a crutch, faith definitely gets us through the rough roads of life!

stay cool!!

So weird, I had that same line stuck in my head a couple days ago. I'm not really religious, but I remember my college roommate would always play this Christian CD she loved and that was a song on it :p

Sweet ending on #10.

I so agree religion helps me, now not the ppl that I'm dealing w/ now on these projects. But overall it really does help me feel centered!

Ohhh swing that sounds fun. I LOVE that son also :)

6. High School Sports is not a big thing in the Netherlands. All sports are played in clubs that have nothing to do with any school. The biggest sport would be football (the soccer variety).

8. I've learned both CPR and the Heimlich Manoevre and would be able to do both (and actually did do CPR once). And I fixed my flat bicycle tire once, does that count?

9. I know how to waltz, since I took dance lessons for years! I did some latin dances as well, but not salsa. If there was no choice up, it would be tapdance.

Deb -- Thank you thank you thank you for not abandoning me!!! :) I've been very busy the past few weeks and haven't had much time to sit, read, and post. I'm hoping things will calm down after the wedding, but then the holidays will be upon us. But what fun!
Loved your answers here. I've always said that I don't use religion as a crutch; I use God as my crutch, for without Him, I could do nothing.
I took a course in ballroom dancing two years ago and loved it. Swing dancing is so much fun, and it gives the lungs and legs a good workout!
Thanks, again, friend.

I'm having a hard time getting past an internal debate on the first one: fish tacos or shrimp enchiladas? Or, ooh, tortilla chips and guacamole! Maybe I should just punt and go with an icy cold Corona with a slice of lime.
