Last Sunday we went to the Getty Museum in Los Angeles.
The buildings are beautiful.

The artwork was awesome but I didn't get all the names.
Of course the one is Van Gogh's Irises but all the rest I don't know.
Some look just like photographs. The detail is amazing.

There were rooms filled with items from the 1700's.
(now isn't that a bed built for a Queen ~ ME!)
Fountains
These are awesome metalwork's with bougainvillea's growing on them.
The gardens were beautiful.
A few statues.
It was a wonderful day.

Wow, wow, wow! It looks like a museum that had a little bit for everyone. Those wire structures for the plants were amazing. Those beds were so small. Can you imagine those being the standard today?!!

That bed certainly looks fit for a queen, but don't let its look fool you. They are tiny, they usually slept sitting up/slouched to either keep their respitory systems working (curtains were closed and no ventilation) or to keep their wigs on! And of course they were riddled with fleas, bedbugs, lice and other creepy crawlies I don't even want to know the name of. And being a Queen you would feel every bite and bump.

Interesting place. I think the gardens would hold more appeal for me that the building - but still.... great day out !!!

I only live about 40 miles from the Getty Museum and I've never been there. After looking at your great photos I think I'll plan a visit there.
