BOO !

Well it's more like boo hoo for Skye, she didn't want to have anything to do with taking pictures! {insert sad face}

My Ladybug

It's not easy getting two dogs to look at you at the same time!

This was the best one of the two of them.

Charlie did a great job being Spiderman don't you think? (my grand dog)

HOPE EVERYONE HAS A SAFE AND HAPPY HALLOWEEN.

MEET ME ON MONDAY

Head on over and join Java for Meet Me On Monday!

Questions:

1. Do you sleep with a night light on?
No but there are several around the house so you can walk around without turning on lights. We have a sliding door in our bedroom that does not have curtains so we do have the city lights in the background.

2. What do you drink with dinner?
Usually water w/lemonade. Sometimes a glass of wine depending on the dinner.

3. Do you play the lottery? If so, how often?
My husband does it and he has a ticket for each drawing. He actually won $11,000. a few years ago. I have to say that he was lucky enough to have a very nice woman wait on him because he didn't know it was a winning ticket. (you have heard the stories how some people have said it wasn't a winner and kept it for themselves) Actually I was with a friend coming home from Vegas years ago, went to check a ticket at some gas station and the guy said no winner and immediatly put it under his counter. Talking about it later my friend thought that maybe I was taken.

4. How often do you go to the grocery store?
Maybe once a month. We do the majority of our shopping at Costco every 4-6 weeks. I may pick some things up if I go to Walmart or Target.

5. Would you rather travel back in time 500 years or travel forward 500 years?
I would rather travel forward providing my family is with me. However after saying that it might be nice to meet relatives from the past. (I guess I am not sure about my answer)

MISS SKYE B

The Terminator of plants in our yard. Of course it's not her fault, it's those darn lizards who live in our yard. When she spots one nothing will stop her! She has knocked over my things in her path when she is going after a lizard or a bird. We have some really nice metal path lights that she has banged into many times and actually has flattened some if they were in her path of running. We are thankful that she hasn't actually hurt herself. (or that she hasn't broken one of the lights) She that face, that is what happens when you ask her firmly "what did you do?" Then she will run into the bedroom and hide under the bed.

This one is a beautiful section of ground cover. (flowers not open when I took this, it was cloudy) Skye will spend all day circling this sections waiting to pounce on a lizard! This plant doesn't handle her pouncing very well! She has made several paths in this one.

Now here she is doing one of her favorite things ~ catching a ball!

Good thing plants grow back!

You gotta love her, although her daddy doesn't always agree with me on that one.

New post over at Debby' Tree.

RANDOM DOZEN

Head on over to Linda's at 2nd cup of coffee to link up and the questions today come from her friend Linda at Mocha with Linda who helped out this week. We all need a little help from our friends.

1. Do you prefer to read the book or see the movie?

I am such a slow reader that I usually end up seeing the movie. Many years ago when The Bridges of Madison County came out I had seen the movie and then I read the book and I enjoyed having the visual of the characters in my mind while I read it.

2. What is your favorite holiday and why?

It has always been Christmas. Even though things have changed over the years with everyone living in different states I have the best memories of being with big family gatherings growing up. It's the one time of year when I go all out. I treat every Christmas like it will be my last and my adult children always say this is the best Christmas ever each year. I adore giving. (I don't want to sound shallow, I do know the importance of Christmas and the birth of Jesus.) I grew up with tons of presents under the, opening them one at a time, watching each person and it would take all day. That is what I give my family each year.

3. Which do you like better - the mountains or the beach?

I love them both however I would rather be warm compared to being very cold. The sound of the ocean is awesome but the peaceful majestic beauty in the mountains is awesome so I guess I really can't pick one!

4. If money were no consideration, what vehicle would you drive?

I have no desire to own some $150,000 car or more$! I would like to own a Mercedes just because I like them and could have bought one when I bought my Mini Cooper. But I have been in love with the Mini and have had two for a total of 7 years now because I think they are adorable! They are fun to drive and have a lot of power. It's not always about the cost.

5. What is your favorite cold-weather beverage?

I seldom drink cold weather beverages but I guess I would say Wassail.

6. How do you communicate most often with your friends: phone, email, text, face-to-face, or Facebook?

Email and sometimes Facebook. I don't talk on the phone much but I use to.

7. How do you receive your mail? Mailbox on the porch, at the end of the driveway, down the street, or post office box?

Down the street at a group of boxes.

8. Of the four basic personality types - sanguine, phlegmatic, melancholic, and choleric - which is your strongest? Which is your least evident? (See definitions below.)

Sorry but I have pieces from each one, not one alone is me!

9. What do you miss the most about being 20?

Really, you have to ask? I would say my body and my health.

10. How long from the time you get up, does it take you to get ready to walk out the door in the morning?

I usually take about 45 minutes but I could be quicker if I had to.

11. Who handles the car maintenance and pays the bills in your family?

My husband pays the bills. I take my car for maintenance and he doesn't wash windows or cars either, that would be me. But he works hard all week, provides well for us and takes care of the yard.

12. For those in the US, how many states have you visited? For those outside the US, how many provinces/other countries have you visited?

I think it is somewhere in the neighborhood of maybe of 13.

Personality type definitions courtesy Wikipedia:

Sanguine
The Sanguine temperament personality is fairly extroverted. People of a sanguine temperament tend to enjoy social gatherings, making new friends and tend to be quite loud. They are usually quite creative and often daydream. However, some alone time is crucial for those of this temperament. Sanguine can also mean very sensitive, compassionate and thoughtful. Sanguine personalities generally struggle with following tasks all the way through, are chronically late, and tend to be forgetful and sometimes a little sarcastic. Often, when pursuing a new hobby, interest is lost quickly when it ceases to be engaging or fun. They are very much people persons. They are talkative and not shy. For some people, these are the ones you want to be friends with and usually they become life long friends.

Choleric
A person who is choleric is a doer. They have a lot of ambition, energy, and passion, and try to instill it in others. They can dominate people of other temperaments, especially phlegmatic types. Many great charismatic military and political figures were cholerics. They like to be leaders and in charge of everything.

Melancholic
A person who is a thoughtful ponderer has a melancholic disposition. Often very considerate and get rather worried when they could not be on time for events, melancholics can be highly creative in activities such as poetry and art - and can become occupied with the tragedy and cruelty in the world. A melancholic is also often a perfectionist. They are often self-reliant and independent; one negative part of being a melancholic is sometimes they can get so involved in what they are doing they forget to think of others.

Phlegmatic
Phlegmatics tend to be self-content and kind. They can be very accepting and affectionate. They may be very receptive and shy and often prefer stability to uncertainty and change. They are very consistent, relaxed, rational, curious, and observant, making them good administrators and diplomats.

I WAS TAGGED

E. from Whining at the World sent me eight questions to answers. If you want to play along just grab the questions. I meet E. on Post It Note Tuesday. Go on over and say hello!

1.How do you / will you know when you are all grown up?
I know I'm older because of the aches & pains. I believe children make us more mature but I will let you know when I'm all grown up!

2.As a child what did you want to be when your grew up and are you doing it?
I wanted to be a wife and mother. Yes I am doing it! Can I pick a new one now and grow up again.

3.You could have an entire day 24 hours to do whatever you wanted (no expense spared). So what would you do?
I have a lot of free time now but I am going to say that I would like to spend the day at Disneyland. (I'm just feeling like I need a day there)

4.Someone invents a new cocktail and they want to name it after you. What are the main ingredients?
It would have something sweet and something sour in it!

5.How many blogs are you currently following or subscribed to?
967

6.Why did you start blogging and is the reason you started still relevant?
I saw a show on Oprah and thought it might be fun to just write about my day. This blog is still relevant but my other blog FOR YOUR TEARS is a blessing from God that I didn't see coming but it would not have happened without being here.

7.What is your favourite item of clothing?
Always will be pajamas.

8.If you had to give up blogging or chocolate what would you chose? Is it a hard choice?
Easy choice - chocolate!

Thank you E. that was fun!

OH WHAT A BUSY DAY I HAD

Besides reading blogs and doing several loads of laundry (which should be done during the week but our daughter really knows how to stretch out her laundry!) I did all of this too! I think this is how my friend Alexis lives every day of her life.

I finally tried my apple slicer
from Pampered Chef and it is amazing! Actually I didn't even get to use it because my husband, daughter and son-in-law were having so much fun doing it. Fine by me.

I made Apple Harvest Cake that I saw on Sew On... And So Forth and saw it here too! I guess everyone is making it so now it's your turn. (cute little tidbit, my husband set up the apple coring shot) I made Kristin's apple sauce. It is super easy and very good. Look, I even made the apple dumplings from The Pioneer Woman again because it was a request from the kids and since we were slicing apples I thought why not. By the way that cake is delicious.

Then I went on to make Black Bean Lasagna from Southern Living which turned out great and was delicious. I did change things up a bit to use what I had at home. I forgot to take a picture of the garlic bread that my daughter makes which is very good.

Now here is something really cute to share with you. We are sitting down at dinner eating the lasagna and there was a leaf on the table. So my daughter begins to tell me that a leaf fell off the other day when she was crocheting at the table. She kept it on the table in the hopes that I could glue it back on. {{give me a minute, I am laughing again}} I looked at her and started laughing telling her it's a REAL plant!!! Needless to say we giggled about that one for a long time.

Here is my new toy!
I think I may need a class on this one.

Forgot to show you this giant giraffe the kids got me at the Fair.

Also, if you read my Random Dozen each week there was a question this week about a word you have trouble saying. I couldn't think of one at the time but I have it now. Potpourri! It took me years to say this, I always said pot -a-pourri.

There is also a new post up at Debby's Tree.
