Head on over to Joyce's place and join us!
1. If you had known what they knew then, would you have boarded the Mayflower?
Probably not, I'm not that adventurous.
2. How far have you traveled on a boat and how do you feel about boats in general?
I think the furthest is maybe a half hour, maybe a little longer. Boats are okay I just don't have the opportunity to be around them much.
3. What traditions have you kept, acquired thru marriage, and/or tossed? If you're single what are some of your family's favorite Thanksgiving traditions?
We kind of made our own traditions. Nothing special really, just the traditional meal of turkey, dressing, gravy, mashed potatoes, corn, green bean casserole and pumpkin pie.
4. What time is dinner and how many will be round your table? And what is the one side dish you cannot do without on Thanksgiving day?
Well we are going a different direction this year. Normally it's just the six of us unless we have visitors in town. We normally would eat around 2pm. Usually a baked sweet potatoes for me!
5. Have you ever used a fire extinguisher? Do tell....
No I haven't but when our son was just an infant a bottle nipple fell on the heat element in the dishwasher and the whole house smelled horrible. We ran outside with him, we thought the house was on fire.
6. Tell about a situation that caused you dreadful trepidation and feet dragging, only to realize later it was a true blessing.
I can't think of one but I am sure that there are many since that is kind of how I handle a lot of things. God always shows me the blessing in each of my days, I often see them as they are happening. Kind of like why you turned left and not right. He is in control of my life.
7. Baked, sweet, mashed, hash browned or french fried...which one's your favorite?
Sweet!
8. Insert your own random thought here.
May your stuffing be tasty
May your turkey be plump
May your potatoes and gravy
Have nary a lump
May your yams be delicious
And your pies take the prize
And may your Thanksgiving dinner
Stay off of your thighs!!!
HAPPY THANKSGIVING

Your menu for Thanksgiving sounds an awful lot like ours ... except we'll have more desserts. ;-) Have a blessed Thanksgiving.
I liked your answer to #6 : ) Happy Thanksgiving!
I love the look of your blog! And your answers are great too. Love the poem. May your thighs stay small as well.
I wouldn't have gotten on the ship either--for the same reason! I love sweet otatoes, too. Have a Happy Thanksgiving--now, I'm off to the kitchen to cook :(
Loved the poem, unfortunately with our menu, I don't think my thighs have a chance!
Happy Thanksgiving.. Sorry I had to laugh at the story about your son. That is too funny. Glad it was just that and the house did not burn down..
Love your poem! I'm not that adventurous either; in fact, your #1 & mine were very similar!
Hope you have a wonderful Thanksgiving weekend!
Hope you have a wonderful Thanksgivng!!!
I posted a similiar poem as my status on facebook this morning.
I had forgotten until you mention the bottle nipple. Back when we use to have to boil them and I let the water boil out.
Happy Thanksgiving!
Given the starvation, religious persecution, and fear that followed the settlement of this great land, I'm not sure I would've made the journey. :)
Loved the Thanksgiving poem and I hope it comes true!!! lol
Happy Thanksgiving Debby!
I'm going to read your poem at dinner tomorrow right after the prayer! Hope you have a wonderful Thanksgiving!
hehe love the poem :)!!!
Bless you & your family my dear!
Your random thought at the end is fabulous! Our Thanksgiving is long over but your meal plan is making me crave some Turkey! Happy Thanksgiving:)
Love your random thought!!!
Have a wonderful holiday!
What a great Thanksgiving poem! Thanks for sharing.
Your poem was the BEST!! Our meals are very similar...Derby Pie is a pie that Kern's bakery in Kentucky invented...it's basically a chocolate chip pie!!
AMEN Deb! Although I am sure my thighs are only one of the places my thanksgiving mealssssss will be sitting!
Fun answers, and I especially liked the poem!
Have a wonderful Thanksgiving tomorrow!
I like sweet potatoes too; only one in my family that does, but they are sooo tasty (especially with brown sugar and marshmellows :)
I'm with you about not being very adventurous; those many months on a boat would not have appealed to me :)
I hope you have a very nice Thanksgiving Debbie!
betty
I like the idea of an early Thanksgiving meal. And then relax and eat pie the rest of the day!
I had a similar incident happen in our dishwasher. I was on the phone with a friend and there was the worst smell and I could not figure out where it was coming from. I was freaking out that something was burning up! It was a plastic spoon from my daughter's play kitchen than managed to make it into our dishwasher.
I almost forgot...Happy Thanksgiving!
I hope I never need to use a fire extinguisher.
