1. What is the most interesting thing you've done in the last year?
Spending 3 weeks in Florida with my dad (87) after he had a pacemaker put in. Also my trip to Downtown Chicago was a dream come true. It felt good going home.
2. What is your most meaningful family heirloom?
Well I have a Singer sewing machine that belonged to my grandfather who was a tailor. We also have the dinning room set of my husbands grandparents which is lovely. These items are very old.
3. What food festival would you most like to attend?
I use to love The Taste of Chicago, that would be a great one!
4. Snow...do you love it or is it considered a four letter word where you live?
I grew up with snow for 38 years. It was okay. I use to love the challenge of driving in it. I am glad I didn't have to teach my children to drive in it.
5. Can you ski? Do you ski? Are you any good?
I can ski but haven't done it in years. I was pretty good at the time.
6. What quality in your spouse or best friend are you most thankful for?
I love his sense of humor.
7. Describe the coziest spot in your home.
It's my office. My sofa is great, large TV and it's dark and quite.

Glad you are having fun in Vegas! I think the Venetian is pretty awesome I also love the Bellagio :-D
How fun to have that sewing machine...that is special!
Interesting answers!
I love your new background.
The regular traveler this year.
What a cool story for your sewing machine. I wish I had some reason to want to keep the one I have. I hate it. I want a new one.
You're staying at the Venetian? We walked through it last time we were there, and we plan on staying there next time, it is absolutely gorgeous! Hope you enjoy the rest of your vacation...
Glad you are having fun in Vegas and I love your background! So does that old sewing machine still work?
Neat story Debby. Glad you are having fun. Blessings.
Love the new look! Have a great time in Vegas! :D
That sewing machine sounds so special!! As usual, enjoyed the hodge podge:)
Such a fun little blurb to learn more about you.
Have a blast. Eat some food, win some money and enjoy looking at weird people!
You know, your post reminded me that I have my grandmother's old singer peddle-type sewing machine! It's in our storage shed, so I never think about it. You don't see those much these days!
I can't believe you posted while you are in Vegas! LOL
neat with the sewing machine and the table; very special I think to have those two pieces from your "grands"! I bet you do treasure that time you spent with your dad this past year!
betty
You're blessed to have your sewing machine as an heirloom. Have fun in Vegas!
Glad you're haveing fun in Vegas. Now me...I'd rather be shopping! And, there is some fabulous shopping there!
You should post some pictures of your grandfather if you have some as a tailor. I would love to see that.
Is skye and Charlie in Vegas too?
I have always dreamed of having a white Christmas but am thankful we do not have to deal with the snow. It is nice being able to drive up to the mountains when we are in the mood to bundle up! I use to snowboard and LOVED it, but I have not been snowboarding since before I had Aiyana 4 years ago!
I have a China Press that belonged to my great great grandmother. It is very old and special to me.
I have a few of my grandfather's things that are precious to me, but my best heirloom is a big diamond solitaire engagement ring that my great-great-uncle, who was a jeweler, made for his bride at the turn of the century.
I love those "Taste of" events. I got to go to Taste of Tasmania one year - great food, great wine.
Liked your answers...especially the Singer sewing machine.
Hi Debby, I followed your link from Joyce's and I enjoyed your answers very much. Glad you're having fun in Vegas, Baby! hee hee
:-)
I'm glad you're having fun and hope you win big! I was wondering about that- how you grew up with snow- but now live in the warmth... I can't imagine Christmas without snow or getting a tree in shorts. That must have been wierd (at least at first) huh? Glad you're still writing... and look- I actually got to read something. I finally caught up on my blog. :-P
Hugs-
L
The heirlooms you have sound amazing! The sewing machine from when your grandfather was a taylor-VERY neat! :-)
It's snowing in Chicago right now! (It's Saturday.) My husband loves to ski, and has tried to teach me how...unsuccessfully!)
Oooh, post a picture of your antique sewing machine! Sending positive vibes for a HUGE win on the slots today! Have fun. =D
I'd love to know what quality in you is your spouse most thankful for?
Someone, somewhere (a relative, but I forget which one!) is holding onto my grandmother's vintage Singer for me, too. And I am dying to go to the Venetian. It's been so long since I was in Vegas the Venetian was just being built last time I was there!
