I found this at Zenhabits and it is exactly what Simplify means to me:
"It means getting rid of many of the things you do so you can spend time with people you love and do the things you love. It means getting rid of the clutter so you are left with only that which gives you value."

I think "SIMPLIFY" is a great word & goal. I'm going to continue working on that myself. Happy New Year!
Great goals. The weight thing is always there for me as well Debby. Thanks for sharing. Blessings.
Hey, I forgot about the OWN network--now I have to look for it (and I was a slug too, felt good)!
Wouldn't it be great to just use simplify. To have things simpler, to live simpler, to leave more time for love and enjoyment.
Oh I love the idea of choosing a word for the year. I think mine will be "RESTORE". Have a wonderful week.
I really like the word simplify and it is one of my goals as well for 2011! I know that I also must be intentional to make it happen. You would think that simple would be easy but I have found it can be hard to obtain and that chaos happens with very little effort.
Happy PINT!
Love the word Simply. I really need to do that in my own life.
Hope you have a great Tuesday Debby.
I think 'Simplify' is a great word. I think mine is 'Love'. More love for my daughter, family, friends, and even the grumpy cashier at Wal-Mart (though that one may be harder to attain).
Simplify is an excellent choice. I need to think of something for me!
I have never watched the Oprah network before. I'm missing out apparently.
Like Katina said, you'd think that living simply would be the easy thing to do ... that chaos would take effort. But in reality it sure seems the other way around.
Have a great week.
Why do you have to say two-thousand and eleven? You can say it any way you like. Of course, if you say twenty-eleven, I would want to say eleventy, which is awkward and wrong.
Those sound like excellent year plans. If you are making those healthy life choices every year, something has to stick? well I hope it does because I'm trying to work on the same thing.
Great word, and goals. We always go off track of those goals, but this year is the year for me as well for the goals I have made. I need to check out Oprah network have never watched yet.
Perfect word!
I didn't know that OWN was live. I'm going to have to go find it.
I really like your word - I forget who said (or for that matter exactly what was said) but the gist of it was - if you don't love it, if it doesn't bring you joy, then get rid of it. I like it!
Ahhh SIMPLIFY! That sounds like heaven! I need some of that 'simplify' haha. Hmmm, I wonder if that is possible?
I love that people do set goals I think it is better. I wish you the best of luck in your goals. I know you can do it.. I like your word I need to do that. Have a great day..
Oh, nice synchronicity! I'm working on "simplify" this year, too!
First I swear by the Weight Watchers way of loosing weight, I have lost 30 pounds and am still on it. Always will be. Im at 122 and want to get to 115.
Also I am reading a book on "the 100 thing Challenge" a way to declutter I guess you could say. Check it out. Im also going to give away something on my blog every now and then to make it to my hundred things. I wrote a post on it today so you can go try to win my giveaway.
What's wrong with twenty eleven? It sounds easier than two thousand and eleven. Although having said that, in the Netherlands we do say two thousand eleven (we loose the and between thousand and eleven) all the time. Never twenty eleven. You could go two zero one one if you prefer that...
I like your word `simplify`.
I guess for me it is `Declutter`.
I hope to exercise more and lose some weight over this year.
Hope you have a wonderful year!
I love your word! Simplify!
Love your word..it means so much to me and with the Zen sites, really, who can say it better? Good thoughts to us all..(I was going to say "good luck", but really, "luck" has nothing to do with it.. :-)
Loose weight and exercise...it hurts cause last year at this time I was 20 pounds lighter!
i think we could all simplify. and I say twentyeleven.
I watched OWN too. It does seem like she has some good shows on. I hope she does well with it. I'm hoping for my diet to stick, also. I really need to lose some pounds!
I always love your post it note messages. I think my word this year is "organize". My life seems to be in chaos... not bad... just chaos. I need to organize the house, my days, and goals!
Great post. I've been living a low carb lifestyle so I'm glad you are thinking about doing so again. I really find that carbs are my downfall. My word is "Reach" Reach to be better. Reach towards God.
I love the word, I need to do more of that!
I have the same goals, this will be the year we do it together :).
I did catch a little of the OWN and did enjoy it. Funny since I've never been a fan of hers. But I liked the shows she had on there.
"twenny-leven" :-D
Goals are easier if you just change one thing in your day, every day. It's not so overwhelming this way.
At least that's what I try convincing myself, ha ha!
Here's to goals! :-)
I love your word for the year.
I love your goals--and I'd like to do all of them myself!
I love your word "simplify", too. That's what I feel like doing these days!
I hope you get your bike soon--and that you enjoy riding it! It makes me feel like a kid again :)
I've been enjoying watching OWN--it's nice to have another choice!
Those goals sound so familiar! I hope I do all those things this year too!
Happy New Year!
Hello Sis,,,,what an inspiration this post is!!! Sorry I'm a bit late,, THANKS for the note on BLUE DAY!!!
We are preparing for a BT this week, its been a while since we delivered cards anywhere, well, since the boys were on Christmas break that is.Its a worry since sales were a bit slower last year. We will manage with God as our CEO though, right Sis...
May God's Love and Blessings continue to be yours Sweetie~~~Hugs Dena
Love the words "simplify" and "reach." However, this year is already not simplified in the fact that "big change" will be in my life in 2011. More about that later. Catching up and saying "Hi!" Hope your new year is simply outstanding! :)
I chose a word this year - my first year to do so - it's Action. I tend to think about things a lot and never actually do them. This year, I'm going to do it.
Kristin - The Goat
Let this be the year to simplify ... AMEN!
