Head on over to Joyce's place and join in!
1. What's your favorite meal to serve on a chilly autumn evening?
Well assuming I am cooking I would guess that it would be black bean chili with some corn bread.
2. Are you a creature of habit? Explain.
Yes! All I can say is that I don't like change.
3. What food product (no longer readily available) do you remember and miss from days gone by?
Well we use to buy Daisy Brand Minced Ham, which is still available in Chicago, and we loved it. It is a lunch meat and is not readily available to us in California but I can order it to be shipped here.
4. What's something you've lost that you've never been able to find? Any theories as to what happened?
I have an autographed photo of Elvis that was given to my dad. He use to let the Elvis Fan Club meet in his movie theatre in Chicago back in the day. It is signed to my dad. (he was even invited to visit Elvis at Graceland but turned it down) Anyway he gave it to me for safe keeping. I know it's not gone, it has to be here somewhere. Thinking that maybe it's in some boxes in the garage that I never really finished going through when we moved in 5 years ago!
5. Zoo~circus~ carnival...your favorite?
Zoo it is!
6. What song makes you feel instantly happy?
Barry Manilow's "I Can't Smile Without You."
7. To what extent are you an argumentative person?
No so much anymore but if I know that I am 100% right about something I will find the proof and prove it. However, many years ago I did that with my father-in-law and he didn't talk to me for 2 years. That is why I can let things go more easily now.
8. Insert your own random thought here.
Several people had asked about the nut last week. Well they are called Macona Almonds and are grown in Spain. They don't say anything about being a cross between an almond and a macadamia but that is what we were told when they were showing them at Costco. They are way different then an almond. I love them!
P.S. I have not been able to use my toolbar in blogger, only in Edit Html which does not have many choices! I love to Justify Full all my posts. I like the neat evenness of it but it's not working. The only way I could get this look today is by not putting Joyce's button in the center. Can't change anything at all!

I love these questions! I love finding out more about you Debby. Also I LOVE Barry Manilow <3
I agree...you can't go wrong with a big ol' bowl of chili this time of year...YUM!!! I'm not a big fan of change, either, but after what we've gone through the past several months, I'm learning to just roll with the punches and to take things as they come.
Chili and cornbread ... excellent fall food!
And I've got to agree with you ... the zoo it is!
Chili is definitely great this time of year. YUM!!
I'd choose zoo over the other 2 as well! :-)
Signed picture from Elvis?
Wow! That would be worth a mint.
Yes, I agree with the chili. Yum.
We are supposed to have snow on Friday, you've given me a dinner idea.
UGH yes blogger can be a pain, I've had no probs since switching to Window live Writer.
Hmm the nuts sound very interesting!
YUP I hate change or the loss of control :)
I forgot to add cornbread to my answer for #1.
How interesting that your dad was invited to visit Elvis at Graceland and that he had an autographed photo of Elvis. I hope you are able to find the photo.
We have boxes we haven't looked in for over 10 years. I wonder what is in them.
Debby I love your answers to these great questions.Big Hugs, please stop by tomorrow and linkup for the Thursday Favorite Things Blog hop. :-)
I have never tried those type of Almonds but if I see them I will pick them up, I probably would have just assumed that they were expensive almonds before.
Love your answers and I'm with you with Barry Manilow. Great song :)
What a neat thing with the picture of Elvis, Debby! Neat momento to have and I am sure it will surface one day!! Seems like everyone likes chili on a cool day, been reading that in other people's blogs too! Seems like today could be a good day to make it, at least down here!
betty
Now ya have no secrets girl! Heeehehhee!!!
I always love readin' these and knowin' ya just a bit better.
Thanks...I was quite curious about the Marcona Almonds!
God bless and have a fantastic day!!! :o)
Chili was the most answer given on this question. I guess there are a lot of chili eaters tonight as well because now I'm hungry! Don't you just love reading everyones answers.
I'm having veggie chili with beans tonight when DoodleBug and friends come over! And cornbread! The smell is driving me NUTS right now and I want to eat it all! LOL
The Elvis photo sounds amazing.. I hope you find it.. I love corn bread.. I really do not care for change either..
Have a great day..
Ugh, my grandma does that with proving she's right in an argument. Can't say I've ever stopped talking to her...but the thought has crossed my mind. HA!
Hate it when the HTML coding argues with me! :) I think we are a lot alike me and you ... hope your full justification comes back soon!
I love the zoo too.
I like chili but i love potatoe soup!
I just told Amy I loved Kaboom cereal when I was little. My mom always bought it. I guess it would be similar to Captain Crunch Berries with marshmallows. Anywho, these were fun questions this week, I hope blogger fixes the issues!
Always love reading these Debby! I hope that you find that Elvis picture! Wow! What a treasure!!! When you were talking about foods- it reminded me that my parents best friends live in Huntington Beach CA and they are originally from Michigan. They love Schular's Bar Scheesh which isn't sold out there... wonder if they had it in Chicago? It is GREAT especially on wheat thin crackers! YUM!!!
I hope you find your dad's autograph of Elvis. Interesting story....Christine
Great answers & I love Chili anytime !!
chili is the perfect fall food!
I really need to start adding black beans to my chili. I've never tried that! I'm a zoo girl too, and I'm going to look for those nuts at Costco this weekend.
an autographed elvis photo! my god that has to be worth a fortune my dear. although the sentimental value is priceless :-)
those almonds sound delish!!

i am so the same way on the if i know im right i will prove it till im heard! haha i dont know why its such a big deal.. i guess i think people dont trust me to tell them the truth or i dont know anything and im like oh i will show u haha
The new Blogger editing form is driving me crazy! I don't know how to do anything anymore.
Chili and corn bread are one of my favorite cold weather dinners, too!
No worries about Round Robin.. just stop by and see what others have to share if you want.. Have a great day...
Hmmm...I'd have to find that autographed Elvis photo! No telling what it's worth--and it will only get more valuable.
I've never tried cornbread with chili, but now that you mention it, I'll bet it's delicious together.
Hi Debby!
Tured down Elvis! My mom would be very jealous :) Hey I am jealous :)
I am not good with change either :) When I try to change my blog backgroud even...I change it right back! :)
Barry Manilow's song always makes me smile, too! Argumentative? Our family hobby is debating about decisions that shape our country! My fav food that I am worried they are trying to do away with is the box of Kraft Italian Spaghetti in the green box. I LOVE the spices!
I'm with you on zoos.
Has blogger changed again? I hadn't even noticed.
I love the marcona almonds! Just catching up in my reader after being away for a week. My reader is ridiculous so I doubt I'll get to all the posts but I'm trying to at least read the Hodgepodge answers. There are more than fifty of just those. Have a great week!
Thanks for the update on the nuts - I will have to Google them to see what they look like.
I really don't think I could pick a song that makes me instantly happy - there are so many. Barry Manilow's song you picked is a good one. Thanks for the tune!
