HAVE YOURSELF A MERRY LITTLE CHRISTMAS EVE

I thought this was fun and wanted to share it!

(Borrowed from Donna)

So on Friday morning I woke up feeling pretty good and ready to bake but first I wanted to check on my emails and do some clearing in my reader. So I am on the computer for about 1 hour when the power went out. I knew that I couldn't bake so I thought this might be a good time to finish wrapping the gifts so that's what I did. As time went on I hoped the power would come on soon because I didn't want 12 thawed pizzas!

Luckily it was only out for about 2 hours. (high winds) So I was finishing up the wrapping and I started feeling extremely nauseous. No way, I didn't have time for that so I turned to my trusted friend Emetrol for nausea. If you have never had this it's worth keeping in the house. A doctor told us about it many, many years ago and it's still on the shelves in the store. I think I found it at Target.

So I have always been a pretty good gift wrapper. Loved wrapping presents. I always wanted to work like at a Nordstrom's in the gift wrap center. Anyway I think as I have aged I just don't care as much anymore. I still wrap a nice gift but I think the OCD parts have left my brain! Well I know that it left because you would never see so many crooked to/from labels years ago. Why I can't get them straight is beyond me!

So all the gifts are wrapped and under the tree. Got a few batches of cookies mixed and will bake them tomorrow. Have several others I hope to make but we shall see! Mark came home early and did a few loads of laundry to help me out. Thanks honey.

The church I normally go to does not have a Christmas Eve service this year. I decided that I am going to play some Christmas carols and read the story of the birth of Jesus. Then it will be Miracle on 34th Street and It's a Wonderful Life!

Wishing Everyone a
Very Merry Christmas Eve!

P.S. Hope to post some pictures on Christmas Day!

Sounds like a pretty good day, all in all (hope whatever caused the nausea is GONE).

I love a midnight Christmas Eve service, but our church is only having a 4:00 service. We probably won't make that because the littles won't be done with their naps by then.

Wishing you and yours a wonderful Christmas Eve!

Well, I'm wishing you a much better day today.....
I'm not as particular about a lot of things now that I'm older....
Its 8:30am and with all I have still to do, here I sit at the computer...but it will get done or life will go on anyway...
Marry Christmas,

You didn't let a little thing like a power outage detract you from achieving goals. Good for you. Sounds like you were right in sync with things.

Enjoy your Christmas.

Hi! My first visit here (hopped over from Citizen of the World's blog). You know, I never before have thought of keeping a nausea med on hand. That, right there, is a Christmas present to me: a new idea.

As far as wrapping gifts goes, I hired my kids this year to do the job for me. After three gifts each, they announced that it was "no fun." My point completely. Maybe I need to hire you?

I love wrapping gifts, too!! It doesn't matter what the wrapping paper looks like with the cool bows you can make with wire edged ribbon - it makes every package look like a million bucks - crooked labels and all :)

I probably would have done better to skip church, stay home with Seany and read the Christmas Story... Hopefully next year he'll be better (or Jeff won't be leading worship). Glad your pizzas were still good! <3
(I am with ya on the wrapping... same with me)
