After Christmas while others are getting ready to take down their trees I get filled with the beauty of mine. Before Christmas it's all about getting the decorations up, shopping, wrapping, getting our cards in the mail and baking. Then the day finally comes, the day after Christmas and suddenly I can breathe. That is when the magic happens for me. My tree glows bigger and brighter, takes my heart away to a place of awe and amazement. I live in that beauty for a few weeks and it's a nice place to be.
After almost 40 years of decorating my own tree, starting with only plain colored glass balls and growing into what it is today with over 800+ ornaments on it, I am not afraid to say it is gorgeous. It has earned these words flowing from my mouth. I put so much love into my tree, it is my masterpiece each Christmas.
The last few days when I walk into our family room at night I am just taken in by its beauty. I wish all of you could see it in person. Pictures cannot capture what the eyes see. It is meticulously knitted together like a beautiful afghan. It will capture my heart for a few weeks and then eventually start to fade. Then it's time to take it down but not a moment sooner! I know when its purpose for this year has been served and I will pack away the magic until next year.

Debby it is a piece of gorgeous art! I would be so proud too and you have every right!
Blessings on your new year too!
Debby your tree truly is stunning! With all the hard work and love that you put into collecting, putting it up and taking it down (I know that is a ton of work) it is nice that you leave it up and enjoy it till you get your fill of its beauty!
Happy New Year!
It is lovely indeed and I SOOOO agree about keeping up the Christmas decor AFTER the day - - - mine will be up AT LEAST until January 9, and then we'll see - - - - I may keep it up until mid January. I mean, some people have theirs up from October on, so what's wrong with us enjoying it well into January????
Love, love, love your tree! You have beautiful ornaments and it's evident how much love goes into putting each one one that tree. Enjoy!
Mine is down and packed away for another year.
Have a very Happy New year!!
I do the same thing- it's the hours, days, after Christmas that I can truly enjoy the beauty of the trees.
Your tree is gorgeous in the pictures and I can imagine its glory in person!
It really is magical!! Happy New Year Deb!
Really liking the wish for big belly laughs. We all could use lots of those.
Your tree shows the love you put into decorating it. We cannot see it as clearly as if we were in front of it in person, but we still feel some of the joy spilling over into your post.
Bestest and dearest wishes for a year of more joy than ever before.
My tree is nothing like your but I understand what your thinking is. I do enjoy my tree after christmas is over and I love the lighting at night. Wishing big belly laughs for you too. See you next year. Trish

Wow! The pictures alone make me wish I could see it in person.
I really enjoy my tree after Christmas too. Life slows down and I find myself feeling reflective, the tree encourages that.
