1. Will you be hosting any house guests between now and the end of December? Does that thought make you happy or crazy? Do you do anything special for your guests to make them feel at home? How long should a house guest stay?
No we will not have any house guests and never really have had any during Christmas. Also since we have our daughter and son-in-law here with us they have taken over two bedrooms so we really don't have a place for company right now unless they want to sleep in our offices, living room or family room on an air mattress!
2. Walter Elias Disney was born this week (December 5) back in 1905 ...what's your all time favorite Disney movie?
Okay, this is totally unfair. You know that there are hundreds that I love but since it's almost Christmas and one of my favorites that is a must watch at this time of year is "One Magic Christmas" that will be my answer!
3. What was the last thing you purchased that you realized was a mistake after the fact?
Nothing specific comes to mind except for maybe some over the top fattening fast food item that I never should have ordered.
4. What percentage of your Christmas shopping is done online?
I'm not sure I can answer that one. I bought 25 people gift cards in the stores. I would say that at least 50% of the items our immediate family (6) wants will be purchased online because they give me their suggestions with links so it's just super easy.
5. Amaryllis-snowdrop-poinsettia...your favorite winter blossom?
I don't know what a snowdrop is. I always like to have a small poinsettia in the house. My father in law use to send me a amaryllis bulb that bloomed each Christmas.
6. What is one thing on your personal Christmas wish list? I think we all want peace on earth so let's make this answer an actual item.
A cute old fashioned cruiser bicycle. But I also want some Justin Beiber cologne! I honestly love how it smells.
7. If you could only use one word today what would it be?
Empathy

I have been listening to Music Choice - Sounds of the Season on TV while I'm on my computer in my office. They give some fun information on the screen, kinda like those pop ups that you use to see. Well I found out that one of my favorite movies "Miracle on 34th Street" was released in May in 1947 to help boost sales. They didn't say why but I would guess that it had to do with Macy's!

Miracle on 34th Street must have been a surprise for all the people involved in making it. It is still so popular after so many years.
Sounds like you are a Disney fan. I will check out your movie pick.
I really love Miracle on 34th street and watch it often. That and It's a Wonderful Life which was filmed in summer!
I love Miracle on 34th Street. I love most Christmas classics, but I do love Miracle on 34th Street. I haven't watched it yet this year ... I need to go do some research to see when it will be on TV so I can make sure that we watch it. ;-)
Though it isn't a Christmas movie, I have always loved "Song of the South". I have such warm memories of seeing it with my mom when I was a young girl. Justin Beiber's cologne does smell nice, but my girls would give me such a hard time if I ever bought any. :)
I loved Miracle of 34th Street to - Macy's and Gimble. Have not seen the movie you picked as your favorite. I am going to see if I can get that music on my computer. Thanks. Love, sandie
I hope you get that cruiser bicycle one of these days...
I love the movie Miracle on 34th Street. I just watched the new version the other night...
I love Disney movies, but couldn't name just one.
I wonder what would happen if Macy's ever went under. They're such an integral part of the holidays!
It's hard to pick just one Disney film. And I probably should have said something fattening I recently ate for my answer too. Like the delicious raspberry cheesecake bites I made for a luncheon yesterday. They are good!
I like your word, Debby. Empathy is a good one! Along with encouragement it would just be about a wonderful day!
I like the links provided for your family for shopping; I bet that does make it so much easier! The kids used to circle things in catalogs, that helped too!
Enjoy the day!
betty
I think about a quarter of my shopping is done online.
My favorite Disney movie is Beauty and the Beast, but Tangled is right up there too...as far as princess movies anyway :-)
Great answers! I think a cruiser bike would be a lot of fun.
I love your new blog design...SO cute!!! And so Christmasy! I love your answers to these, I look forward to Wednesday Hodgepodge on your blog...maybe I'll join in someday.
I have never seen that disney movie...when did it come out?
My mother used to always buy us an Amaryllis for Christmas, since we live so far away, it's not possible for her to do it anymore and I miss that. Silly how things you take for granted while they were happening, ended up being so meaningful without you realizing it until it was missing from your life.
It's so easy to get fast food while in a rush, but I don't think I have ever finished a fast food meal without regretting it. I need more self control, lol.
As always, great answers!!
I'm not sure what a snowdrop looks like either, but it sounds like it would be pretty!
That makes me giggle because of the Justin Bieber cologne. I'm sure you're right that it smells nice, but it sounds funny! ;)
Oh I love Miracle on 34th St. too....Christine
I am becoming a house guest this year: I have asked a good friend (see the wobbly photo) if I could come and spend Christmas at her place and they said yes! So, I am off to spend Christmas with a six/seven year old and a four year old! Yeah...
Jazzy broke out a Christmas CD this morning that we could all hear.
I have never heard of One Magic Christmas so I will have to check it out. Have a Happy Holiday Season!
I so want a bike too.. I hope I get it.. I think my Mother in law is getting it for me. Yeah.. I hope you have a great day.
hmm Justin Bieber? I might have to smell it lol
I hope you get your bike. I have never smelled Justin Bieber perfume--
when we were in Rosemary Beach for Thanksgiving they have tons of cruiser bikes and bikes for two to rent. It was a blast from the past. Very Martha's Vineyard. MY personal favorite Christmas movies are Miracle on 34th street AND White Christmas. So, if I ever make it your way....the couch is mine...right?????
I adore poinsettias. I have a dozen in the house and another three at the office.
Oh, you crack me up! Justin Bieber cologne? I've never even smelled it!
I watch the Miracle on 34th street every year xo
I listen to Music Choice all the time while cleaning! I need to finish up two more people for Christmas and I'm done!
I bet you're right about the Macy's thing- I've already watched that one three times in less than one week!
What is this "One Magic Christmas" of which you speak? How have I missed this?!
I love Miracle on 34th street. My girls haven't watched it yet, I think this might be the year!
I love your word of today.
It is beautiful.
I think I would say that Miracle of 34th is my favorite. Would you believe I hadn't seen it until this past Sunday????
I know! Criminal!
glad you came by today you were a star on my blog...
Debby, I am so loving all of the old Christmas movies on t.v. Even though I can almost recite the lines with the characters in several of them, I love watching them each year. Wouldn't one of those bikes be a blast? How's the tree-triming going? I love that picture you posted on your other blog. laurie
I remember when my mother-in-law asked for J. Lo perfume for Christmas. I didn't even know Justin Beiber colgne existed, but the thought of it makes me smile!**
I didn't know there was a Justin Bieber cologne! :)
I wanted a regular old cruiser too but my husband got me one with gears and I have a hard time riding!
I've never seen that movie, but I need to look for it! And having house guests makes me very nervous! It also makes me clean house.
I haven't seen One Magic Christmas I must see it :)
OH goodness I have buyer remorse all the time!
hehe I so gave links to Rick :)
I so can see you on a crusier!!
I would guess Macy's also
I didn't know "the Biebs" had a scent! You learn something new everyday! My Bigs can't stand him (which is funny to me) so we tease them about liking 'the Biebs" all the time... I'm tempted to get them something with him on it but I think WWIII may erupt!
