Happy Birthday Dad!
(His name is Raymond)
My dad is 89 today and I love him so much.
These would both be in the very early 40's.
Maybe 1955! (I'm the little one)

He is one of the most giving people I know. He worked hard to give us a wonderful life growing up. I wish we lived closer, it's so hard not living nearby him but we talk almost daily.(sometimes several times a day!) My mom passed away in 1982 and nine months later my husband had left me. I have to be honest with you, I had no clue how lonely he was after my mother died until Mark had left me. Talk about putting yourself in someone else's shoes. I learned a lot from that, that's how our lives get changed and we learn about compassion. My father and I have been best friends ever since. Hopefully I will get to visit with him this summer even though it is unbearable in Florida this time of year. I have to soak up as much time as I can with him!

I'm so glad you are close to your dad. Mine died when I was 19 years old, so he's been gone a long time. Enjoy your time together.
What a sweet post! Happy birthday to your dad!
Two celebrations so close together. I hope you had a great day with your family celebrating your anniversary and I also hope you go and see your dad this year. Happy birthday to him.
Happy birthday to your dad. It sounds like you have a wonderful relationship.
It is a blessing that you still have your Dad with you and yes soak up the time you have left...mine has been in heaven since 2006...and he was miserable without Mother and only lived 16 more months without her.....go visit.

My dad turned 89 in March. And the picture of your dad with the dog (is that Skye?) looks a lot like my dad. I don't see a resemblance in the other pictures, but I sure do in that one.
I hope you get to see him this summer.
Awesome post, happy birthday to your dad!!!
Happy birthday to your dad! He looks great for being 89!! Your mom did die when she was so young, Debby.
I hope you do get a chance to see him this summer!

Oh, forgot to mention I love your Dad's name too!
It just so happens to be my hubby's name, and part of Samuel's middle name, but you prob. knew that :)
There is NO WAY that your dad is 89! How does he stay so young looking?! I hope you do get to visit him- I should go visit mine more often than I do. He's only 3 hours away. But he has a wife there---my step mom- not a bad person I just never get my dad to myself, ya know? Anyway, happy birthday to your YOUNG dad!

This touched my heart so much because I no longer have my dad. Yes, definitely soak up every bit of time you have with him!!!!
Debby, thank you so much for sharing your father with us! He sounds like a very special man indeed! I loved getting to "know" you and your family better through your incredible collection of photos! I love the ones from the 1940s -- such style! You are an absolutely picture perfect little doll in the photo from 1955, and your wedding photo is lovely!
