1. The Summer Olympics begin next week and London is playing host. If you had
the chance to go in person which (non-Olympic) London site would you most like
to visit?
Well I saw most of my favorites last summer but I would love to go and visit Buckingham Palace when it is open for tours. I was also unable to tour Kensington Palace because it was being remodeled for William and Kate. I really wanted to go into Princess Diana's Memorial Fountain but it was also closed for maintenance. These are the sad pictures :(
2. What is something in your life right now that feels like an Olympic
event?
The housework! I mentioned awhile back that with Amber now working full time she doesn't have time to clean the house for us. I love our home but I loath housework at this point and time in my life.
3. What's your favorite supper to prepare and serve when it's too hot to
cook?
Well we don't have traditional dinners each night so I don't have an answer. We normally have salads each evening so it's kinda make your own dinner! Of course pizza would be the easy answer.
4. July 18th is National Get Out of the Doghouse Day...when was the last
time you were 'in the doghouse'?
Actually on our anniversary. I was a bitch that day and didn't want Mark's gift of the picture of Paris which is where we were last year on our anniversary. I told him to take it back. Yes I am really good at making a scene but not really meaning what I say. So last weekend I asked him if he was going to hang it up for me and he said "I thought I was supposed it put it in my trunk and return it?" We had a good giggle over that one.
5. What television advertisement do you find particularly irritating or
inappropriate? You may not answer with 'all of them'. I know some of you were
thinking about it.
I rarely watch commercials. I watch movies on cable and DVR all my other shows but I will tell you one right now that bothers me. I have absolutely nothing against Gay people. I have two family members who are Gay and we love them unconditionally. There is a commercial on Showtime for their program called "The L Word" and right now they are using a chalkboard with the woman on the show who are drawing about how they prefer to have sex. It is disgusting.
6. Share one piece of interesting news from the year you were born.
7. What's the best part of your average day?
I like the evening when I turn my computer off and just relax.
8. Insert your own random thought here.
If you have been reading my blog recently you know that I have no random thoughts right now. Have no desire to write posts at this time so I am very thankful for Wednesday Hodgepodge. Here is the strange thing, this was probably one of the best Mammoth Lakes trips I've had in years and yet I can't seem to write the post.

Ah those gates in answer one remind me of a trip I once took: all I saw was the parking lots and I guess the people on the bus didn't get to see much more: they had about half an hour to visit each sight (did I tell you they were Japanese?).
You and I must be kindred spirits...I can say amen to almost everything you posted! I am very overwhelmed by housework right now too. What are we going to do???
The writing always seems to come harder in summer. I guess because life's so busy and also because it gets a little bit discouraging to pour everything into a great post that no one reads because they're all on vacation or out playing with the kids or whatever! I like the memes now, too. :)
I've been in Buckingham Palace but think Windsor Castle is much more worth a visit. It is hard to balance blogging, life, and the heat in the summer months. I'm sure you'll eventually get it written.
That happens to me often too - the whole doghouse thing! I tend to be a little crazy and make a scene without meaning it. It keeps the men in our lives on their toes!
I guess I should be glad that we don't get Showtime. :-o
You and I were born in the same year, so it's particularly interesting to see the prices in effect the year we were born. ;-)
The condition of the house is one of my points of grumble with Hubby; I can't tolerate disorganization or clutter and I need him to move a few big boxes so I can clean and he's been too busy, for months too busy! grrr....
I had blogger's block for a while. I'm just now starting to break out of it. I agree, TGFTM! (Thank God For The Memes!)
Maybe you don't want to write about Mammoth because with it being such a nice time you want to keep that to yourself; to treasure it within your heart?
betty
i've also hit a wall regarding my blogging...my life is definitely boring and i can't imagine ppl wanting to hear about it
I love reading your blog post and to me it's always interesting!
I do the get mad thing, take it back too...Lol! and I can be a real B word too!I love how you always tell the truth and you don't butter it to get readers!
I thought of pizza too for that answer. I had to laugh about your story about the gift your husband gave you. At least you and your husband can laugh about it :)
We so are the same I get all worked up :). I love that he kept it for you :)
I confess that if I went to London, I'd want to take one of those walking Jack the Ripper tours.
The cost of living chart left my jaw open, literally. $9000 a new house? The anniversary picture story is kind of funny. I've ruined more than one special occasion with my 'tude.
I love the evenings away from the computer too. It's sooooo relaxing!
It's a bummer that you didn't get to see the palace when you were there!
Housework is an Olympic Event at my house! I feel like I run a hotel sometimes.
Laundry seems like an Olympic event for me. It is never ending.
Getting the house in order can be hard, especially since in no time, it's all messed up again! I feel your pain some days.
I have no desire to clean up the house either :) It's sort of like wasting time, cause it'll just get messed up again!
Oh, if only we could go back to those 1951 prices...
I like your anniversary picture of Paris. It's beautiful.
I know what you mean about writing posts. Sometimes the desire just isn't there, so I don't write as much as I once did. It's more fun to relax anyway :)
I love pizza anytime for dinner too. I try it every chance I get.
I love my me time at the end of the day. Been really busy sometimes it's hard to find time for the computer & me. Its sorta my relaxer.
Something that feels olympic to me right now is the notion of painting my living room. I'd love to do it, but it seems like such a huge job.
Wow that food list was amazing!
I love the gates. Wouldn't it be fabulous to be in London?
Pizza is the best and can be eaten at anytime in my book & housework... blah....I get so tired of doing it day after day after day.
Cost of living chart is shocking...sure wish it was somewhat like that now...like your best part of day and idea of pizza dinner...have a wonderful day!
Yep Debby, I just checked for ys, search my blog for BBQ and a great post telling all about the place will come rigbt up.
Have fun!!!
interesting to read other peoples thoughts!
I haven't watched TV in yrs so I do not even know what I am missing...but my one son is count in g the days till the Olympics so we will all be watching that...except the commercials!!
I hate housework too!!! I'll do anything to put it off!
I have days when I just can't think of a thing to write about and some days when I can think of 10 things, but when I sit down to write my mind goes blank!
So weird to see how much prices have gone up!
I tell you, I do not miss commercials at all!
Evening is my best part of the day too Debby. Just like to relax. And you are so funny at the housework girl. sandie
