WEDNESDAY HODGEPODGE

Thank you Joyce for our weekly questions.

I really had to put on my thinking cap today and do a little research.
 (gee is that a cliche?)

1. In what ways do you indulge yourself?
Well if you go back before my low carb days I would have to say Reese's Peanut Butter Cups. Now it might be Greek Yogurt with some berries or the occasional glass of wine.  I do get a pedicure about every 5 or 6 weeks so maybe that would be a good one.

2. Have you ever taken a cooking class? Any interest? What type of class would you most like to try?
No I haven't other than Home Economics in High School many moons ago! (another cliche) I do somethings think about it but I'm not sure what type of class I would want to take.

3. What does it mean to be a good citizen?
I felt like I knew what it means but couldn't put it into words so I did a little research. What I found says exactly what I was thinking: "To be a good citizen first you have to be a good person. By that I mean that you have to be full of values, principles, ethics, etc. When joining all these aspects together you will find out that there is nothing else to be needed."

4. 'Tis the season of the political advert...do these ads influence your vote?
No the ads for president do not influence my vote but the ads for propositions sometimes does.

5. What's something you see today that makes you wish you were a kid again?
Nothing expect the freedom of being young without responsibilities. Wouldn't mind a little of that.

6. What's your least favorite cliche?
I went to several links and read so many of them. I still like many of the cliche's. I think I use a lot of them too! I am going to say "Time heals all wounds." I do believe that with time some wounds don't sting as much but some wounds can never be healed.

7. What percentage of your Christmas shopping has been completed? How does that make you feel?
Well I am pretty sure Lynn Marie will say she is almost done! I am not done. I do have several things for my daughter because for some reason I always find things for her when I am out shopping. I'm not concerned about it, I will be done with most of it by December and if I'm not it will certainly be done before Christmas Eve :)

8. Insert your own random thought here.
We have some family issues going on that I would really love prayer for. God will know my heart when you pay. Thank you.

Oh well, it published early yet I had set the time for 12:00am Wednesday morning!

I have finished my Christmas SHOPPING!
Yeah. Now I can have fun.

So no more candy for you and you are still low carbing it? Good for you - you must be skin and bones now!

Hugs and prayers.

I like a lot of the cliches too and probably use more than I should when I write.

Hope things are okay. I will pray for your family today.

I sure wouldn't want to be a kid again......I'd have to go through all the crazy bad stuff all ovr again. Plus being from a big family, we always had lots of responsibility, unless of course you happen to be among the last three! :)

I will be praying!

I'm jealous of Chatty Crone for having her shopping done already! Good for her!! Will say a prayer for your family, Debby.

First and foremost... Prayers are coming your way (as our virtual hugs so wrap your arms around yourself right now).
I love your answer to the "Time" thing... grrr... and I don't trust any of those ads... they are so twisted. We have some really bad prop ads right now that are outright lies in MI. One talks about how voting one way will allow schools to keep child molesters out of jail... give me a break!!!
OK... done now...
Prayers still coming! <3

Lots of prayers for you & your family.
I'm really tired of the ads but they don't make my mind up.
I wish my shopping was done.
Love ya
:)

Oh, clichés are good. Like the one about not wearing your coat indoors, because you won't have any benefit of it outdoors if you do.

I don't do any Christmas shopping, although I might be swayed for my nephew and nieces. Not sure yet though this year.

I like your answer to #3.

I mentioned "Home Ec" in my answer, too. Is our age showing? LOL

Sending ((hugs))) and prayers about your family situation. I'm involved in a "situation" of my own, so I know the feeling.

Now that I am reading everyone else's answers I think I misunderstood the question about being a kid.
Praying for your family situation.

I mentioned Home Ec in my answer too. I loved reading your answers. Several of them were close to mine.

Prayers? You've got 'em.
I haven't even started thinking about Christmas yet. The good thing is, with the boys, they're happy with just $. Kind of impersonal, but if that's what they want...

Cathy said...

I had to look up the cliches and realized while reading that I use a lot of them. Who knew?

Liz Mays said...

I have only purchased one thing so far for Christmas, but if you're not worried about it, I won't either!

I like what you wrote about being a good citizen!

Prayers for all (hugs). Great answer to the citizen question.

Praying for you and your family my friend! Enjoyed all of your answers. I have to admit I do enjoy playing with the Legos with the grands when we are in Arkansas!
until next time... nel

I don't even want to think about Christmas. Praying for you and your family. Keep your head up!

I find myself saying cliches quite often, sometimes just to tease my daughter because she has not heard them before. My Mother used to say them a lot and I suppose that is why they come to mind often.
I too find things for my daughter while shopping.

My prayers are with you! I hope everything is ok.

Sending a prayer for your family Sandie. I love reading all your answers, I just don't usually do it on Wednesday, but I always click back. I would also have to agree that some wounds do not heal completely over time, wish they did, but certain memories can take me back to the pain all over again if I let it. I need to work on that, letting things go. Ann

Secret Agent Woman said...

I am with you on "Time heals all wounds." Instead I say, "Time can ease the pain." Also, "What doesn't kill you makes you stronger." Because sometimes, what doesn't kill you just breaks you down. You may go on in spite of it, but not necessarily stronger.

That said, sending healing thoughts into the universe for you. Whatever is going on with your family, I'm holding you in my heart.
