WEDNESDAY HODGEPODGE UNWRAPPED

Four hodgepodges til Christmas in case you were wondering.

1. With that being said I think I need to dive right in to some Christmas related questions, don't you? Which do you prefer-pretty gift wrap with a bow or a pretty gift bag with/without a bow? What percentage of your holiday gifts are currently (as in right this very minute) wrapped in some form or fashion?
I do like a pretty wrapped gift with a bow. I do a few bags each year but you can't beat a wrapped gift! I don't wrap until closer to Christmas.

2. What is one item on your Christmas list this year?
A bicycle, it's on my list every year but my husband thinks it's silly for me to get one because I only have a small area that I can really ride it in because about eight houses down to each side of us the hills go down and I could never come back up!

3. What makes a home?
Love

4. Motown founder Berry Gordy celebrates his birthday on Hodgepodge Day-November 28th. Are you a fan of the Motown sound? If so, who's your favorite Motown artist and/or song? Here's a list in case you're stuck.
Michael Jackson was my first thought. Definitely Lionel Richie was a favorite of mine and also Stevie Wonder. Just to point out how old I really am, we saw Stevie Wonder on stage at Northern Illinois University in the early '70's, back when he was pretty new to the scene.

5. Red or green-which one is more prevalent in your closet?
Neither! Okay if I have to answer I think I would say red.

6. True or false-bacon makes it better? If you answered true, what's your favorite dish made with bacon?
True, bacon is awesome. I actually don't eat it often but I do like the Hormel bacon bits in my salads.

7. Share a favorite holiday memory.
I have so many from my childhood and also with my children growing up. My parents made Christmas so magical that each year was better than the next.  I will tell you a favorite memory I would like to have. I would love to get a picture frame someday with a sonogram announcing a grand baby on the way!

8.   Insert your own random thought here.
"It's a Wonderful Life" was awesome on the Big Screen. I am so thrilled to have had the opportunity to see 3 classics this year and if I am up to it I am going to see The Bishop's Wife this weekend. I have never seen this movie from 1947 with Cary Grant, Loretta Young and David Niven. What has me intrigued about seeing this movie is that it was remade in 1996 as The Preacher's Wife starring Denzel Washington, Whitney Houston, and Courtney B. Vance which is one of my favorites!

Magic Kingdom....Disney World....the most magical place on earth!!!

I spent 14 1/2 hours yesterday and it was more than I could have ever imagined. Am I tired beyond anything I've known....yes!! It's 7:15am right now and I am being picked up at 10:00am to spend the day at Epcot. I don't think I have walked this much over the year! I'm like a kid in the candy store....actually I think I bought out the candy store! You know I have said this before when I've been at Disneyland, sometime magical happens to my body and I'm all new. It's what I imagine Heaven to be like :)

You could always put the bike in your car and drive to a park to ride it ;)
Enjoy Disney. My friends left today to go there.

When you saw Stevie Wonder in concert, was he introduced as "Little Stevie Wonder"? I can't help but still think of him that way. ;-)

I'm hoping you get your wish on #7!

I'm so glad that you're having a fabulous time at Disney World - I can't wait until we're there next year ... it truly is a magical place. ;-)

I usually end up with more bags than wrapped. Just because I wait too long!

I wasn't sure I'd see you today. So glad you're having a wonderful time. I agree-Disney is magical!

I went to Disneyworld twice - once when I was 11 with my Dad, stepmum and sister, once when I was 13 with my Mum, stepdad and 2 older stepbrothers. I've never been the one closest to me though in Paris.

Cinderella's Castle is so pretty with all the winter lights!

You need one of those new electric bikes. You can ride it down the hill and it help you back up.

1. Box with a bow. But I don't care deeply about this. But I put my extended family's presents in gift bags and delivered them at Thanksgiving.
2. I am not in a situation where there's anyone to give a list to! But I'm happy my kids will be with me Christmas Eve/morning this year.
3. I agree!
4. I'm going with Marvin Gaye, for "What's Going On" and "Mercy, Mercy Me."
5. Green, because I only own a couple of red things.
6. Well, you know I don't eat meat so I have to go with No. :-)
7. Christmas once the kids arrived were magical.
8. Made me giggle. I think I picture heaven as a tropical island.

I think Disney World is heaven too! I especially love the Magic Kingdom. I also feel so at home there and when we visited in 2010, I felt like I had returned home because I had lived there for several months. It is definitely one of my favorite places.

Everyone who knows me, knows I hate wrapping! I'm no good at it and when bags came out and decorated boxes, I was all over that!

I know you are tired after a long day in Disney, but it's true that you seem to get an extra boost of energy when you're there, so have a wonderful time tomorrow!

I love reading answers to things like this -- it helps me know my blog buddies so much better! And it makes me realize what all we share in common!

Debby - I also love to ride my bike - I am 53 - I have been riding for the past 3 years. I got a GOOD BIKE - a Jamis - a comfort bike - called Citizen 1 - I highly recommend getting a good one and having a bike dealer measure you for the right size!! And yes - take it to a park or place you can ride!! This bike fits me and the seat is so comfortable. Amazing what a proper fitting good quality bike can do. I'm talking 350.00 - not thousands - but so much better than a Walmart bike (sorry Walmart)!!! Enjoy your trip!

Loved that picture!!! I'm with you on the wrapped gift! Something about tearing that paper open (or watching someone tear paper) is so much fun! I think your husband should get you a bike (and a bike rack for your car so you can drive it to a local park and ride... my two cents!) <3

I'm still so jealous over it's a wonderful life on the big screen. Have fun tonight at the Preacher's wife! I have never seen it.

Mom bought me a pretty pink bike, her subtle hint for me too loose weight. I think since I'll be at my goal here soon I may even get to ride it. Lord help me stay up on it.
