Thank you Joyce :)
1. Turkey-love it or leave it? White meat or dark? What's your favorite thing
to make using leftover turkey?
Love it! I enjoy the white meat. Other than just heating up a whole repeat plate from Thanksgiving I would have to say a turkey sandwich with Miracle Whip. (which I won't have because of my low carb diet)
2. Gotta burn off all those carbs the day
after a holiday feast so which would you rather do-run a 10K or climb a
mountain?
I won't be eating many carbs on my plate but I will say climb a mountain. (if I actually could do that!)
3. Do you feel like social networking has made your
relationships better or worse? Explain.
I am going to say better. I have never been one to make phone calls so now I get to email my brother everyday and communicate with my nieces on Facebook. Only wish my sister would join in :(
4. How do you find and express
gratitude for the hard things in your life?
I'm not sure if I know how to answer this one. I would have to say that I seek out God and I also thank Him for all that he gives me.
1 Thessalonians 5:16-18 (NIV)
Rejoice always, pray continually, give thanks in all circumstances; for this is God’s will for you in Christ Jesus.
5. In the US, the day after
Thanksgiving has been dubbed 'Black Friday'. Is most of your holiday shopping
done live and in person, or is it done more through the magic of the Internet?
How do you feel about stores opening at midnight Thanksgiving night? Will you be
out amongst the masses on Friday?
They should not open on Thursday evening. I never shop the day after Thanksgiving. I think going out in the crowds is crazy. I didn't do it 40 years ago either, not my thing. I do a lot of shopping online but mainly because my children give me links to things that they want. I will go out and do other shopping and I do buy things throughout the year. I have 25 people out of town that I use to shop for, wrap and ship but now I send gift cards to all of them. I am not done but I'm not stressed about it, I know what I need to get, just have to do it!
6. Speaking of the color black-which
black item in your wardrobe would you say is your favorite?
I don't have many things in black. I do own a really cute sweater jacket so I will say that.
7. What do
you appreciate about your life today?
I definitely love that I am fortunate enough to be able to be home each day. I appreciate having adult children who love me and are also my best friends. (of course I love them too) I appreciate the fact that I can do some traveling with Mark and I'm thrilled when he asks me to join him.
8. Insert your own random thought
here.
Seeing "Miracle on 34th Street." on the big screen was so much fun. Mark went with me last Friday and he loved it. He, unlike me, hasn't seen it in a very, very long time. It was the original 1947 B&W film. I have to admit that when the music started and you see Kris Kringle walking down the street this overwhelming happiness came over me and I started crying. This Friday we will be seeing "It's a Wonderful Life."

I love your answers again!!! I am one that adventures out for a deal...I will not fight over anything because that just makes you look greedy.I am happy with my finds although sometimes I don't everything I went for I am still happy that I got some deals and my children will be happy Christmas morning! Have a wonderful Thanksgiving!
Pretty much most of my wardrobe is black :-)
Aww, that was a sweet story in your random thought. It's funny the things that stir emotion and memory in us. I hope you have a wonderful Thanksgiving!
For not being sure how to answer #4, I think you did a fine job. And such a sweet answer to #8. I would love to see It's a Wonderful Life on the big screen! Happy Thanksgiving!
I have a hard time eating low carb on thanksgiving because of the meat stuffing that Hubby makes. I love it but it has white bread and potatoes in it!! Oh my!! Good thing I have a treadmill in the family room!
Happy Thanksgiving Debby and family!
How neat with seeing the movie on the big screen! Reminds us of the old days, doesn't it?
betty
What kind of pie are you making? I love Miracle on 34th Street but have never gotten to see it on the big screen - I will have to see if any theaters in my area are playing it. I love that verse you used in answering #4 - it is perfect :) Happy Thanksgiving!
I would love to see those old movies on the big screen. But I will watch them on TV this year, hopefully.
Happy Thanksgiving
I've got to check to see what films are being shown on the big screen this year.
Happy Thanksgiving!
Not a lot of black in your wardrobe? You inspire me! I try to be more colorful. It just doesn't work. I have never seen the movie Miracle on 34th Street. I am putting it in my Netflix queue right now:) Happy Thanksgiving!
I'd LOVE to see It's A Wonderful Life on the big screen!
I read on another comment that you throw out the carcass? **Gasp!** I should PayPal you the cost to ship it to me! (But I don't know how I'd feel about getting turkey bones in the mail.)
Have a Happy Thanksgiving!!
Yay!! I'm with you on "It's A Wonderful Life". Isn't it funny how certain movies serve as a countdown to Christmas in their own right? For us, Home Alone is usually seen the furthest away from Christmas (seen twice this year already) followed by Muppets Christmas Carol and then It's a Wonderful Life. It's not nearly Christmas until you've seen those!
Happy Thanksgiving :)
Love those movies! I have made three pies so far today and have another three to go.
Happy Thanksgiving to you and your family :)
Hope your pie is done...mine are in the oven. Happy Thanksgiving Debby!
I am with you on stores being opened. Hope you got the pie baked. Happy Thanksgiving my friend.
Stopping on by from Joyce's HodgePodge! I'm jealous about Miracle on 34th street- i LOVE that movie! I'm also with you on the stores being opened on Thursday - it's crazy and shouldn't be allowed.
Miracle on 34th street was on today & i resisted the STRONG temptaion to watch & instead got going & cleaned while Kelly had the kids for the day down at his parents....it was hard resisting though!
I am toatlly a white meat girl myself Debby :)
& Actually every year that I am not pregnant I make myself do the Thanksgiving 5K every time...I was soooo glad to be pregnant this year so I don't have to wake up early to do it tomorrow :) I think I might have run my last...
:)
2 of my favourite movies. I love the original black and white movies. We also like the 1953 Alistair Sims "A Christmas Carol"
It is wonderful to be able to stay home and I am glad for you. I agree white meat on the t urkey. sandie
Oh, I would love to the see the original Miracle on 34th Street on the big screen. I should look into our local theater and see if they are running the classics.
Love that passage!
Way to go on staying away from carbs!
