No, we don't celebrate St. Patrick's Day at our home. Now that doesn't mean I haven't been out at a bar over the years and had me some green beer or seen the Chicago river turn green!

Honestly it was just the other day when you....Joyce....wrote about your walk around Central Park over the weekend!

Happiness and Heaven

Was this a habit you developed as a child or is journaling something new for you?

I try and try to keep a journal but it usually fizzle out with time. This started years ago watching Oprah otherwise I never even thought of keeping a journal. However I am very happy to have this blogging journal now!

Off the top of my head I am going to say my Jim Shore pieces. They are very colorful.
These are my Christmas collection.
I also have everyday ones.
7. Write a
limerick with you
as the subject. You can do it!! Just remember this is a family friendly
blog...don't make me get out my wooden spoon.
How do I write about me
I'd rather get stung by a bee
Of course that is not really true
But this is something I don't want to do

I finally started a prayer journal. There are so many requests for prayers while I am blogging and I always stop what I am doing to say a prayer but I decided that I wanted to start doing more for those who ask for prayer. So now I am writing down each prayer request so I can focus on them each day.

I love your Christmas collection, Debby...very nice! You can never go wrong with a prayer journal. After reading "The God Box", I've started writing down all of my worries, concerns, and praises on small pieces of paper and I put them in my own "God box". It's my way of "letting go and letting God." Your limerick cracked me up! I haven't written one of those in a LONG time!
From time to time I keep a prayer journal too. It does really help.
Cute limerick.
Good answer on being green with envy. Didn't her walk in Central Park look and sound so sweet?
I have a lot of prayer requests and answers in my journals. It's partly why I still journal some, usually during my quiet time. I don't blog a lot about that, because it feels like sacred time.
Come to Central Park!
I used to journal every day until I started blogging - now I never journal any more.
I love your Jim Shore pieces. I'd love to have some, but I have no place to display collections.
We'll be having Corned Beef and Cabbage this year for the first time! With the meat from our last steer, we had a corned beef made and figured St. Patty's day would be a great time to make it! :-)
I JUST started a prayer journal too! I felt the same as you with prayer requests, or even things I felt the need to pray for, keep coming up and it became more than I could remember off the top of my head :-)

You're limerick is perfect! :)
I do that - keep a prayer journal. Its a great way to keep up & be able to go back & ask someone how such & such is going... they appreciate that too.
It's also so cool to see how God answers prayers :)
Seeing the Chicago river turn green would be awesome.
I love your Christmas decorations!!!!!
I have seen the fountain in Savannah turned green...but the river in Chicago would be amazing. I was in Dublin on St. Paddy's day in 2009. It was amazing. I have kept prayer journals for a while and love the process. It is amazing to go back and see answered prayers.
I immediately thought of you when I read question 1 :) because I know how you enjoy Vegas.
A prayer journal is a great idea, I like that.
I also like your limerick :)
your limerick made me laugh. :)
Great limerick! I have never had green beer or been to Chicago except in the airport.
I love your limerick, and I also remember some yers past with green beer (yuck). And, seriously, I love the idea of a prayer journal. What a great idea! I have thought of starting a prayer jar... to write a name or a hope on a slip of paper and place it in the jar. From time to time then go back and repray with those slips, or throw the slips away when the prayer concern has been answered (one way or another.)
Your idea for a prayer journal for bloggers is a GREAT one! Loved your limerick, haha. Enjoy your day!
I've been wanting to do a prayer journal too. I need to get on that!!
love your limerick :)
I have a prayer journal to Debby. Because I can't remember all of them any more if I don't. I also keep a grateful journal.
I love corn beef and cabbage - I have to remember to get some.
Love your limerick - so cute.

I think I'm the same as you about daily journaling. I journal for a few days or weeks, then get side tracked. That's why I keep everything in what I refer to as The Chronicles of Nani home edition. It's all of my blog, dream diary entries, papers, poetry and an occasional email exchange, all mixed in chronological order with my personal journal entries. It ends up being a pretty complete picture of the year.
I love your Christmas collection rainbow; then again I always love looking at your Christmas collections!
Good for you for starting the prayer journal. I've been meaning to do that for years, but never do.
I must say that Anne Frank was my inspiration as a young girl and I kept a journal after reading hers the first time. Stopped when I was about 17. Fun to read them now. Daughter spent last two days at Cedar's! Doing okay now, but that's where I've been. Wonderful hosp and staff. Ann
loved your limerick
Well, first of all Debby, let me say, thank you so much for stopping by my blog... and I do love my furbabies!!!
I don't keep a journal, I just write when the mood hits me... funny thing is, I've got a few drafts sitting in my blogger draft box, LOL!
I don't eat cabbage, so no, I won't be eating that meal!
Your tree blog is so lovely with all your ornaments... I have a ton of ornaments, but I no longer put up a big tree, and my tiny tree is too small to hold all of my ornaments, so I may have to consider getting rid of many of them!
And you have such a special heart with your "For Your Tears" blog... such a thoughtful gesture, so simple yet so heartfelt!
Many thanks again for visiting!
Cheers~
my house is the rainbow... all walls are painted bright happy colors
I've never been able to be consistent with a prayer journal but my daily one is easy. I don't why it's that way. We have some of the same Jim Shore pieces! I love mine! I should have put that I get green with envy over everyone getting snow for winter and we don't. Forgot about that! LOL
Silly all the time
Heaven a place to go when I die
Elephant an animal my kids like to talk about
Love thy neighbor
Beauty is everywhere
Y because you asked to come up with a limerick:0)
I am the subject as you can see...my name is spelled down at the beginning of each line.
Thanks for the challenge that was fun!
