FYI: Before we start Joyce's Wednesday Hodgepodge I want to say that with working between Bloglovin' and Feedly, both which say that they transfer over your blogs, I have run into some issues. About 10 of my favorites, that I know of so far, didn't get transferred to Bloglovin' where as they did transfer to Feedly. Also I had a few posts from people I am following in Bloglovin' that haven't showed up yet on Bloglovin' yet these posts were on Feedly Monday. I'm not sure I can trust Bloglovin' even though I like the way it works. Hopefully these issues will get shorted out soon!
Hodgepodge will be on spring break next week
and will return on Wednesday, April 10th.
1. What are your plans for Easter? Are you cooking a big lunch or dinner? Dyeing eggs? Attending a sun rise service? Eating too much chocolate?
I know I won't be eating too much chocolate! At this point and time we have no plans. Adam & Tristen are going to be with her family this year. Amber and Dylan on going away for a much needed vacation to Northern California. Details to our day are still being discussed.
2. What is something you feel too young to do?
I feel too young to live in a nursing home.
3. "Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud...it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs..." Of the characteristics mentioned in the Biblical definition of love which do you find most difficult to live out and why?
Probably "it is not easily angered" because frankly I do get easily angered!
4. What's a springtime flower you associate with your childhood?
I associate Forsythia and Lilac bushes with my childhood. We don't see them here in Southern California.

5. Ever sung karaoke? If so, what's your go-to song? If not and you're given the opportunity, would you?
I have never sang karaoke but I do believe I would give it a try if the opportunity came up. Not sure what song I would sing but would like to be in a group song.
6. What is something you keep in a basket?
I have a lovely laundry basket that belonged to my husbands Nana who was born in 1900. I keep our afghans in it in our family room.
7. When was the last time you felt foolish?
I can't remember a recent time but I can tell you one from about 38 years ago. We had a family couple over at our townhouse in Illinois. We were only married a few years at the time. I, who can be quick to anger, was mad about something. My husband walked them out to their car when they were leaving. I heard the door open and started yelling at my husband about whatever it was I was mad about. Well it wasn't my husband, it was the family member coming back in because he forgot something. I was taught a pretty good lesson at the time.....make sure you know who you are yelling at!
8. Insert your own random thought here.
Did you watch "Call the Midwife" on PBS last season. Well it's back this Sunday with Season 2 at 8:00 pm. I can't wait to see it! Actually if you haven't seen it you should give it a try. They will be showing Season 1 starting at 1:00 pm on Sunday if you want to get up to date. If you like Downton Abbey this show will show you another side of living in Europe/London East Side in the 1950's. Also you can watch full episodes here on your computer at PBS.

I have been so hesitant to choose between the tow, but I think signing up for both is a good idea and then choose the one I like best.
never sung karaoke, never will :)
I am a little worried about what happens with Feedly when Google Reader disappears. It syncs itself with Reader and once I had trouble logging in and it had to ore-sync. My other complaint is that I have;t figured out how to look up a blog since there isn't a full list view that I can find.
My forsythia are in bloom right now!
They are Easter mad over here. Getting anything done in the week leading up to Easter is nearly impossible it seems!
I do love lilac bushes. I especially like going to DD's in the spring because they have a large lilac bush right next to their garage, and the scent is absolutely heady.
I forgot about forsythias. We have a lot of them here. My cheeks are almost red after reading "foolish moment". I guess that is something I could have done ;)
Happy Easter!
I like tiger lilys. I just like it.
Thanks for sharing the info on Feedly and Bloglovin....I've looked at both but haven't tried either.
Happy Easter!
We have no plans either. We were going to go to my mother-in-law's, but Clint wants to go FISHING!
I love Forsythia. They're so bright and so beautiful!
We don't have any plans this Easter either. The lovelies will all be coming home two weeks after for a wedding so I'm just going to enjoy a restful spring break! I can so relate to your anger story. Unfortunately. I'm the very same way. I have gotten better over the years and I can thank my dad for this little problem. LOL
Yes, it's always good to know who you are yelling at when you're mad! I got mad once at one of the kids and for what ever reason couldn't think of his name so said, "YOU, it's you I'm mad at and when remember your name, you're in big trouble?" Everyone laughed including me so the anger was gone.
I had to laugh at the yelling incident.....that is something I would do!
I think I'm probably most guilty of keeps no record of wrongs. According to my husband that is a great weakness of mine!
Have a wonderful Easter!
I've pretty much retired from karaoke, unless i am on a cruise where i don't know anybody. I used to live in southern CA, i love the trees, especially palm which we don't get a lot of up here. Lilacs are pretty too! :) Happy Easter!!
oh i don't use either of google or feedy, i just look on Joyce's list. ;) Hope it stays that way! lol
That is a great story, hopefully it's funny in hindsight: )
Hope you enjoy your Easter weekend...holidays are different without kids at home. I've told hubs he and I will make some new traditions for those times. I'm thinking vacation : )
Oh man I hate to hear that about bloghlovin' I hope it fixes the bugs soon!
I love lilac bushes, we have a few in the back yard and one in the front yard. I love the smell.
Ahhh I love you have his nana's basket.
I haven't seen that show may have to give it a try :)
I love forsythia, it is one of my favorites.
Funny story about the yelling!
Blessings

Oh my goodness Debby - I love your honesty in number 7! I think if we admit it we have all done something like this. sandie
I hope you and Mark think of a fun way to spend Easter :)
Thanks for the PBS info, I'll set my DVR.
Good advice on feedly. I still haven't switched.
I like Call the Midwife too. I didn't know it starts back up on Sunday, so thanks for telling me. I missed the last episode, so maybe I can catch it on Sunday. Funny that you yelled at your visitor coming back in door. And we have forsythia and lilac bushes in our landscape, planted by the previous owner. They are very pretty.
No Forsythia or Lilac? I can't imagine spring without either...though by the time they bloom this year it will probably be July 4th!
Have a happy and blessed Easter whatever your plans turn out to be. :)
That stinks with Bloglovin'. I still need to sit down and transfer all of mine over that I still want. I've done some, but not enough. The one thing I'm not liking is that I can't view the entire post in the reader without going to the blog. I really like being able to read the whole thing:(
Living in Southern California I love seeing tulips this time of year. I also love the fragrance of orange blossoms and lavender. I guess I enjoy the bursting colors of spring.
I can relate to the embarrassing moment. I have the worse habit of sticking my foot in my mouth at times. It's always a lesson learned. I enjoyed your post.
I love the Spring flowers! I'm lookoing forward to tulips and daffodils :-)
Sounds like your kids have some nice plans this Easter! I hope your Easter is enjoyable as well! :-)
i've stuck with feedly and am happy with it. they continue to work on refinements to the program, too.
love the forsythia - something i only learned about from blogging. grew up with lilacs in wisconsin and miss them so!
Bloglovin is working out pretty well for me.
I love the pictures! It's so nice to see flowers starting to blossom!
Have a very blessed Easter!
You are way ahead of my sister...bloglovin and feeder-whatever! I don't even know what you are talkin about.
I signed up for bloglovin also but I like to read on my blog dashboard will that disappear when Google reader is gone? Hope you have a really blessed Easter whatever you do:)
Are we slated to lose out blog follower on the dashboard if we blog on blogger too, or just Google reader. I follow blogs on my dashboard and just link to the actual blog.
I like your use for your heirloom basket. The most important basket I have is my fruit basket. But it's not a special basket, just important contents.
Have a Happy Easter, Debby!
