Wednesday Hodgepodge!
1. Have you learned more from success or failure? Explain.
I have definitely learned more from failure. Well let's just use divorce as an example, it takes two to make a marriage work and it takes two to make it fail. (Of course I do know that is not true in all situations)
2. What did you call your grandparents when you were growing up? If you have children, what do they call your parents? If you have grandchildren, what do they call you?
I called my grandparents grandma and grandpa. My children also called theirs grandma and grandpa.
3. You're invited to a luau. In keeping with that theme, what dish will you bring to share?
4. Besides Jesus, what one person's life story do you think everyone should know about
That is a hard question and I am sure there are many people whose stories are worth knowing about. Stories that are great life lessons but since I recently saw the movie "42" I am going to say the Jackie Robinson story. I have always had a soft spot in my heart for the treatment of African Americans in our country.
5. "Don't sweat the small stuff." Agree or Disagree? Why?
Agree but I still do! I'm better at not sweating the small stuff but in the beginning the small stuff feels really big until you live longer and the big stuff hits the fan.
6. June is National Rivers Month. When were you last on a river? What's the prettiest river you've ever seen? What's a river you'd like to see?
I can't remember the last time I was on a river. I see more lakes than rivers. I have seen the Colorado River which is lovely and others I can't think of right now. I am going to say that I would like to see the Hudson River since I would love to visit the New York area.
7. Speaking of rivers-paddling, fishing, swimming, or bird watching safely from the shore? Which activity would you choose? Yes-you have to choose.
I definitely enjoy fishing from the shore and also swimming.

I haven't felt like myself since last Wednesday so I am seeing my doctor today. I will share more later.
My mothers sister passed away last week. I haven't seen her in about 10 years because of some family issues that I will not get into here. She was my Aunt Laurie and the person I got my middle name from. She moved from Florida a few years ago to Texas so my cousin/her daughter could visit her often in an assisted living home. I know that they will miss her and my heart is with them today as they have her viewing and service. They will fly her to Chicago where she will be laid to rest by my mother Dorothy in the mausoleum at Woodlawn Cemetery.
In other news my niece in Florida turns 37 today. Happy Birthday Melissa! I will be seeing her in Florida next week. I sure do love my family in Florida and can't wait to see them.....

I'm sorry to hear about your aunt from both the loss and the non-talking perspective. I hope everything is ok at the doctor. :( I don't like this news! I was always a grandma and grandpa name caller and so were the kids. I think my daughter will choose some offbeat name for me though.
I agree with #5, for sure. I'm so sorry about your aunt. Happy Birthday to Melissa. (and I had my meds changed this week, too...must be in the air! )
i'm sorry for the loss of your aunt. no matter if you've seen them recently or not, it still stirs up a lot of emotions.

I loved your answer to #5! So true.
I'm sorry to hear about your aunt's passing.
Hope nothing serious is wrong, and you'll be 'fit as a fiddle' by the time your trip rolls around! Take care.
I LOVE pineapple! When we all get together for this cyber luau I'll love the spread! Lots of pineapple answers! :)
Sending a prayer and good wish that the Doctor can help you get back to feeling like you!
Also a prayer for your Aunt's family for peace and healing.
My kids call my parents 'Oma' and 'Opa' and my husband's parents 'Grandma with Horses' and 'Papa'. There is no way they'll be getting them confused when we talk about them ;-)
I'm sorry for the loss of your Aunt. :-(
I hope you enjoy your trip! It must be so nice to be able to visit your family...I'm sure you miss them. Happy Birthday to Melissa too! :-)
I'm sorry about your Aunt and your health. I hope you can well and feel relief with good memories of your Aunt.
I am sorry for the loss of your aunt. I hope you are feeling better and the doctor can help you.
The Hudson River is a good one :)
Those small things sometimes trip me up!
I really pray your dr. appt. goes well and it's something really simple!
I'm so sorry about your aunt. Family can be a very complicated thing!.
I swear that God sends us failure to teach us and also to be a teacher to others :).
I'm sorry to hear about your mother's sister, my prayers are with them.
So sorry about your aunt and about you not feeling well.
Great answer to #5.
Hope you get that trip to the Hudson some day.
Sorry for your family's loss. I will say a prayer for you as well and hope you are feeling better.
Have a good Wednesday.
Bethany
Hope you got good news from your doctor today and are feeling well again soon.
I agree with you about the "small stuff". I laugh at the things my daughter panics about, thinking "Oh, if you only knew how small that is compared to what's coming." Kinda sad - but reality.
Sympathy and blessings on the loss of your aunt.
Interesting thing we learned on our trip to Hawaii...they don't grow them there anymore! Isn't that funny? My mother was Dorothy, too! Love that name!!
Chose pineapple. Sorry to hear about your aunt.
We are doing to have a lot of fruit at our Luau. And I am grandma too. I have learned a lot from failure too Debby. I have noticed that maybe something is wrong. I hope that you go to the doctor and have things checked out. sandie
I will be praying for you my friend. I am sorry about your aunt and having just lost mine I understand. I did not think of the colorado river...or the columbia...should have. I am not fond of swimming where I cannot see the bottom. I grew up in Florida....alligators creep me out.
I hope your appointment went well with the doctor. I'm also sorry for the loss of your aunt. Even when circumstances are difficult and there is distance, the loss of a family member still makes our hearts hurt. Take care!
Hope the Dr. visit is for something minor and easily fixed with a pill. I'll be watching for an update.
So sorry to hear about your aunt's passing. My heart goes out to you and your family.. But I wish you a safe journey, and much comfort and happiness as you visit your family in Florida! ~tina
