Thank you Joyce!
1. Summertime is a season of reunions, weddings, and other family celebrations and gatherings...are any of the above on your calendar in the next two months?
Well of course you know about my time here in Florida celebrating my Dad's 90th Birthday. It was definitely a family reunion. My nieces Michele and Melissa hadn't seen my son Adam in 17 years. The last time they saw my daughter Amber was 10 years ago.
2. June is National Iced Tea Month...are you an iced tea drinker? If so, how do you like yours (sweet, flavored, etc)?
No I am not an iced tea drinker.
3. When were you last nervous? Looking back, was the 'event' actually nerve-worthy?
I know I'm nervous when I fly. I do know that looking back being nervous is seldom worthy!
4. The bristle toothbrush was invented in China on June 26, 1498...not sure how that date was pinned down so precisely but, on a scale of 1-10, with 10 being sick to your stomach and 1 being not at all, how nervous do you feel when you're headed to the dentist? Do you see your dentist twice a year?
10....very, very nervous yet I have never had an issue to bring this on. I haven't been in a long time.
5. What's making news in your town this week?
Well being here in Florida it is the trial of George Zimmerman. If I was home I would not know because I do not watch the news or read the paper. I live in my own little world most days.
6. Curtains, drapes, blinds...your window treatment of choice? Are there any bare windows in your house? Is that by choice or because you haven't gotten around to covering them?
We like doing wooden blinds. Hopefully plantation shutters in our next home. I use to do curtain years ago. Yes the sliding door in our bedroom does not have anything on it and that is by choice so we can see our view and the city lights at night. We have no one behind us and the neighbors can't see us either. It's really awesome!
We actually have a half curtain in our kitchen. Again the reason being the view. The curtain matches the chair cushions at the kitchen table.
7. Summertime is officially here (in the Northern hemisphere anyway)...whatone song is a must-have on your summer playlist?
I can't help but think of Will Smith's Sumertime. It is one of my favorites. YouTube wouldn't let me show it but you can go to the link.
8. Insert your own random thought here.
As of yesterday morning I had 2499 posts in my reader....OMG! Up until my family arrived last Friday I was keeping my reader around 35 a day deleting those people I don't read anymore, reading a few each day and saving those I want to read when I have time. When I get home later this week I see myself being glued to my computer for a few days! (I return home tomorrow evening around 11:00 pm)

Going to the dentist is horrible to me. The thought of going doesn't bother me, but when I get there, I have my fists clenched the whole time because I hate it so much.
I like blinds or shades that leave the window mostly unobscured, but I have some huge picture windows with curtains (not the I ever close them). In a bedroom, though, I'n a fan of sheers to let in the light.
Well, I've helped you out with your reader because I haven't posted in the past 3 weeks! (ha, ha!)
You have gorgeous views! I wouldn't put anything on those windows, either!
Sometimes I get so behind in my blog reading, I just have to press delete and start fresh! We have a few window with out anything on them as well because of the view...and the fact that no one can see in them anyway :) Happy Wednesday!
The night time view must be really pretty, how about a photo of that too? I don't like the dentist, well I like the man, I don't like going to him because he always finds something wrong. No matter what I do, there is something that needs fixing! YIKES
I was mostly offline last week, so know the feeling. I've read a few, but mostly am hitting all read because there's just too much going on right now and I want to be outdoors. Safe travels! I'm a nervous flyer too : )
I get a bit nervous flying too. I've never had a bad flight but I don't like being bounced around! And you DO have a beautiful view out your back doors! BTW, I like your blog background. Pretty!
I'm sorry that your visit with your dad is almost over. I know you've had a great time being with you family :)
Glad your dad had a nice birthday celebration! How nice to have great views from your bedroom sliders. Safe travel back home.
have a safe and NON nervous flight home... i am an 11 on Dentist visits... we have blinds on our windows, the old timey mini blinds and verticals at the glass door and living room picture window. i would love to have plantation shutters or wooden blinds, but will never have them because of the cost. we have to have blinds to block the FL sun but we leave them open when possible... all the windows have a valance at the top over the blinds.
falling behind on blog reading is tough! :) i have a few bare windows in my home and enjoy that we don't have anyone right next door.
All the curtains we hung are purely decorative ... and they're hung on the OUTSIDE the windows ... so nothing is blocking the sun shining in.
Have a safe trip! Which reader are you using? I am using bloglovin now. I didn't want Google reader to go away!! I liked its setup.
I love bare windows...my big plate glass bedroom window is bare it is also our "head board"....I love iced tea..decaf...no sugar...not a sweet tea person at all...have a safe trip home...
I love bare windows too. Our french doors have tint on them and nothing else. I love being able to see outside.
Oh I love that song!
I love plain iced tea. No sugar, no lemon. Just that simple bitterness.
I'm not a big fan of curtains. I do blinds where I must!
Sounds like you just need to hit 'delete all' and take a snooze. You've sure been busy.
Sorry it has been so long since I last visited your blog. Seems like I can't get back in the blogging grove. Have a safe trip home my friend.
Actually yesterday I spent the evening at the dentist & it was almost a relaxing getaway...no kids or crying ...sad huh? :)
Interesting read.
I not too afraid of the dentist.
I'm terrified of anesthesia.
Love your view from the kitchen. Ahhhhh summer. I wish it could go on forever.
I am not thrilled with the dentist either - but I do love iced tea. I know you have been having a crazy busy wonderful summer. I am glad you are home!!!!!!!!! sandie
I'd never heard of Plantation Shutters before this Hodge Podge. I Googled them and I've seen them, just never knew what they were called!
Just love your view!
Oh man haven't been to the dentist in a while, I'm kind of scared to go in.
Yikes maybe it's good you accidentally deleted your reader :)
