It's a Star Spangled Hodgepodge!
Thank you Joyce for our questions.

1. What's one simple small pleasure on your summer 'to-do' list?
Our week in Mammoth Lakes, CA. Reading, hiking and Scrabble....no TV, phone, computers, etc.! (but I will watch some movies on my personal DVD player)
2. Do you have strong feelings or opinions regarding the immigration debate in your home country? Feel free to share your thoughts, but please play nice.
Yes I do. My ancestors came over from Europe speaking Bohemian. They had to learn to speak English and become American citizens. The standards to be an American Citizen should never be changed or given away for free. You want to live here you do the work!
3. What's something in your home or wardrobe that could be described as 'star spangled'?
I have some things around the house that scream America because I am a proud American but I don't own much in the way of clothes.
4. Is your house set up for a party?
If your asking if the house would make a nice setting for a party....yes, however we only have family parties which includes the six of us. The best part of a 4th of July party would be our yard since you can watch fireworks from all the surrounding communities because of the view.
5. What one never-before-visited city in America, would you most like to see?
New York City for sure but second on my list is Washington, DC.
6. Your favorite red food? White food? Blue food?
Raspberries, Dairy Queen Soft Serve Vanilla Cone, Blueberries!
7. What freedom do you value the most, and why?
My religious freedom.
8. Insert your own random thought here.
I am still having issues with the uncomfortable feelings on my left side. (Post: Here's What I Know) No answers yet and that is mostly my fault because of vacations. Had my Echo Cardiogram yesterday but that's all it was. No appointment with the doctor. If they see something life threatening they will call. Have a drug induced Stress Test on July 23rd and meet with the doctor on the 5th of August to go over the tests.
That will be two months after it started on May 30th which was before our Vegas trip. I'm actually taking my father's Tylenol w/Codeine when it is at its worse which works great. Never once have I had heart pain. It is annoying, like having a stiff neck which runs down your shoulder, across your back, under the arm to the elbow. Makes me pretty snappy!
HAPPY 4TH OF JULY...........

Sounds like the cardiologist appointment went well. Hopefully you'll get some relief soon!
sorry to hear you are still having those pains, all the test are so far off. is that by choice or the doctors fit you in like that...
Seeing all the fireworks from your own backyard? What a TREAT!
The symptoms sound like possibly gall bladder or GERD (gastrointestinal reflux diseases) because my mom had similar pain with gallbladder and my hubby had what seemed at the time , a heart attack or stroke, at work, with symptoms that struck hard and fast after ignoring milder pain. I hope you can get in sooner as these are things that need more immediate attention. Also be careful of Tylenol. Too much over a period of time builds up in the system and causes toxicity which can be lethal. But maybe you're not taking it like candy, which she was (and was taking other pain meds that have acetomenophin --sp?-- in them).
Now that I've been all cheerio, have a great 4th! LOL
Oops, by "she" I meant my SIL's mom. She died of Tylenol toxicity. She was taking it and other pain meds for the pain from an abdominal blockage that reduced circulation to her lower extremities that made her always uncomfortable.
Dang it... I didn't realize you were still feeling those pains :( Hopefully some time away relaxing will help!
I'm sorry you haven't been feeling well. I hope you get some answers (and some relief) very soon!
Your backyard sounds like a wonderful place to celebrate the Fourth!
Fireworks from your backyard sound nice. Sorry to hear you are still not feeling well. It is hard to be nice and pleasant when you aren't feeling well. Hope you feel better soon.
I'm envious of your trip. I would love to go somewhere like that. Only, by myself. :)
I hope you feel better soon!
I'm so sorry it is still bothering you. I hope you feel better soon!
Yes, I agree with Zoanna, it sure sounds like it could well be gallbladder. Sure hope you get to the bottom of it soon.
Happy celebrating tomorrow!
Happy 4th of July Debby hope your pain is gone soon
Washington, DC is on my list too.
God bless America!
I hope you find answers - and relief - soon on your pains. I do have to agree with Zoanna and Cici and tell you that it sounds to me like it could be gallbladder.
Have a wonderful Independence Day!
Wish you healing and relief from the pain Debby.
Always fun to see your answers to the questions. Lady Liberty (IMO) is reason enough to visit my home town. I have never been to Honolulu - one day I might get there. And I so echo your answer to #7. Seems like most of our other freedoms stem from our religious freedom.
I hope you get some answers to your health woes. We're in the Smokies visiting family for the 4th. Rotten weather, but beautiful views for our cabin. Happy Independence Day!
I'm with you on raspberries and blueberries. I'd top that with coeur a la creme, a delicious sweet cream-cheese/whipped cream stuff I make.
I am excited for you on your upcoming trip and then for when you get home and get your health issues figured out and settled. Love, sandie
I'm so sorry you're still uncomfortable feelings :(.
My prayers are with you for good results for the Stress Test and Test Results!
Amen I think so many don't think of their religious freedom. To believe or not believe it is pretty powerful we can have that choice!
I've always wanted to see New York City!
