Half-Past Kissin' Time
Wasn't sure who was hosting today so I put up both.

Okay this picture was taken from inside the house and it was a hazy day. If I had opened the door Skye would have ran out and scared him away. The baby bird  that we helped came by for a visit last week. His parents were also around watching him. I was so happy to see him.

If you follow me on Facebook you may have seen this already but for those of you who haven't seen this here is my new obsession! I find all these great quotes on Pinterest which I pin to my board but some of them I will save and put into my pictures.

Well I decided to print some of them out on the matte photo paper that I have. I hope to someday frame them. They would be awesome in small places.

I love a good sale and free shipping!

My poinsettia from Christmas 2012 is doing well. The one from Christmas 2011 is also still alive and outside in a pot.

I can't believe it is August already. The months just seem to be flying by again like they do every year and I just keep getting older. The only fun thing about the month changes is that our premium channels on cable get a new selection of movies. I don't watch any daytime TV but I do have movies playing while I'm on my computer.

Is anybody else loving this season of Big Brother 15? I have been a BB fan since the first show aired on July 5, 2000. The very first version of BB started in 1999 in the Netherlands.  I even watch BB After Dark which I tape every night and watch while I'm on my computer in the morning.

I am not a big fan of reality TV but this one is a keeper. I also watch The Housewives of New Jersey. Amber got me started on it several years ago and she doesn't even watch it anymore. I'm sure you have seen the Giudice's in the new lately. They sure made a mess of their lives!

So last year I lost 39 pounds. Then I started having some medical issues and was put two different medications to lower cholesterol that made me gain weight even though I wasn't eating differently. Then you add in 17 days in Florida and a week in the mountains and I put a few pounds back on. I took myself off the drugs and lowered my cholesterol on my own!

Very depressing but I am not giving up. I've already lost a few pounds and hope to be back down to the 39 pounds very soon. Then I plan on moving beyond that point where I plateaued back in January. Please keep me in your prayers, I really need to get this weight off for my well being and for my health. Just wanted to share this so I can be accountable.

Also I go on Monday to see the cardiologist to find out the results of my two tests. I feel fine so I am hoping all is well. I will keep you posted.

I am starting to work on those vacation posts but need some more mojo. I have ordered a few canvas pictures from vacation for our wall of canvas. I can't wait to add them.

Here is Bodie State Historic Park (Ghost Town) which I will show you a lot of awesome photos from. This park has only 5% of the original buildings still up and in 1962 it became a park and is maintained in a state of "arrested decay." I can't wait to show you them up close and personal!
Have A Wonderful Weekend

Love that view Debby! And do not ask me about cholesterol meds. Currently I am taking an OTC flush-free niacin that seems to be keeping mine down. Seems to not have the bad side effects of the many drugs I have been prescribed in past years.

I am so sorry the Dutch inflicted Big Brother on to the world. Although you seem to like it, so it mightn't be that bad. I only ever watched the second Dutch series. Other than that I like real life shows like American/Australian/British/Norwegian/Swedish/Dutch etc Topmodel, Project Runway and the Australian version of Masterchef. I caught the American version a few times and when I saw Gordon Ramsey I got the shivers and had to turn it off.

The only show I can't wait to see again (well, two really) are Person of Interest and Doctor Who. Although the latter will probably come to me courtesy of a friend of a friend.

Can't wait to see more of the ghost town. We have a bird that sits in the same spot on our roof top very often. I like to think of him as my father in law, checking in. :) When he died, I remember we arrived at my MIL's house around 4 am... and there were birds everywhere! I like your should try to frame them and sell on ebay or etsy. I hope your tests have good results!!

Love the quotes - I collect a lot of them on FB and Pinterest but haven't figured out what to do with them.

Good for you - for your weight loss and for sticking to it when it gets tough. I've "found" a few of my lost lbs also but I just keep plodding along.

Joe and Teresa. What can one say? I only feel sympathy for their kids. Reality is not always fun.

Good wishes with the weight loss, Debby. That's a tough one, but it sounds like you are on the right track and I know you will get it done! I hope your test results are spectacular and since you are feeling good they most likely will be. I will be in the weight loss mode along with you. Ann

I like those sayings. And you've got a great idea on how to display them. I though this summer was going to be MY summer for weight loss. Wrong. Hope all goes well at the cardiologist. You're always in my thoughts and prayers!

How sweet that your little bird stopped by for a visit!

You're the only person I know, other than my MIL, who can keep poinsettias alive past Christmas! Good job :)

We've been fans of Big Brother for several seasons. I'm bummed that we've lost Dish Network coverage of CBS, at least for now. Guess I'll have to watch on the computer until we get our antenna.

Wishing you lots of luck with your weight loss. It's so hard to get off, but so easy to put back on :(

Happy about your bird! Yay!

I need to be accountable for my weight as well. We would all be healthier and happier. Meds do make it hard sometimes.
Bless you.

Love the picture of the bird. And you must have a real green thumb to keep those poinsettas alive! I'm rooting for you on the weight loss. Got some pounds to lose myself, and it's so hard to get motivated to just do it. Hope you have a great weekend!

What a great picture of a ghost town. I love ghost towns, but it's been years since I've been o one.

I'm sorry about the weight gain. It's hard w/ meds and vacation on top of that. Good luck w/ losing those pounds again - you did it once so you can surely do it again :-)

Debby, you made my day! Thanks for the tip about watching the week's recap of Big Brother on Fridays, on the other channel! That's what I'll be doing from now on.

I can't believe you keep those poinsettias going - mine always keel over in the late winter.
