We often fish from the shore on Lake George. We thought that maybe this year we would go out in a boat one day. For some reason we had a lot of winds this year on Lake George. They said that it might be better by Wednesday and it looked pretty good that day. Well let's just say it didn't stay that way for long.
I took some pictures while we were fishing.
That's our cabin, take note of the people fishing on shore.

Water started getting real choppy!
Well guess what? The motor wouldn't start. We tried and tried while we continued to fish as we drifted across the lake. We ended up eventually on the West side of the lake in a familiar spot where we have fished from shore at before. We anchored down and Mark got out to walk back the the boat shop.
You can actually hike around Lake George. We have done it numerous times although I haven't done it in years. The waters were getting worse and the boat was hitting against some rocks. I looked down at the water and OMG there were paint chips everywhere. I felt so bad so I started pushing the boat away and did that for a very long time.
Why? Because it seemed like forever before Mark and the guy came back to get me. People even walked by and asked if I need help. No thank you I said. So what happened was when Mark got to the boat house the guy was gone. The sign said "be back in 15 minutes." Well that didn't happen. I couldn't see Mark at the boat house from where I was. I bet I was sitting there for an hour and it took everything I had to keep the boat from chipping more as the waves pushed really hard!
Where the waves took us.....
The walk tug of shame....
Of course we were going right past the people fishing on shore. We tried not to look, it was so embarrassing! The man apologized and gave us our money back.
Back to the cabin for some wine.....
We had a great laugh over this one!

You had an adventure! And remember that adventures are good for bloggers. Otherwise we would be talking about seeing paint dry until the cows come home!
well, you sure have a memorable moment to share....
pictures were beautiful though!
LOL: Debby... I could just imagine the embarrassment of being towed in and having to ride by the bank fishermen. And you, poor dear, got stuck trying to save the boat!! I'm glad you could laugh about it later. I got a good chuckle from this story.
my motto in life is if anything can happen it probably will... or Stuff Happens OR like you said about the mice and men.
love the shot of the tug rope and the last one the view is amazing... and the view looking at your cabin is just plain awesome. I love the trees and rocks...
glad you got your money back!
Fishing from the shore, I bet was sounding might good to you while in that boat. Good you got your money back.
At least a storm didn't happen while you were stuck in the water, that happened to us once.
Beautiful place for a vacation....love the color of the water.
Mama Bear
Oh what a time you had! At least you can laugh about it now that it is over!
Oh my! What a fishing adventure that turned out to be :) All's well that ends well, right?
What a beautiful place to go on vacation! Your pictures look like something out of a magazine.
I'm sorry you're not connected back up with CBS yet. Maybe it won't be much longer. The inconvenience of it all is a royal pain :(
It looks absolutely beautiful there!
We have pulled one boat in. We love the lake. Fishing and tubing.
It's Beautiful! I think this is a great fun adventure story. I love the little mishaps that turn into family favorite:)
Bummer but with that view it could of been worse. What a gorgeous retreat!
Sounds like a fun adventure, lol!! Love the pictures.
What an adventure! It looks so pretty there.
I was once stuck for four hours in the middle of a lake. We were burnt!
It will get funnier and funnier as the years go by!!
Oh Debby, I bet that wine tasted good! I love the way you told this story and it will be something you laugh over together for years. Ann
Debby, what a great adventure! I'm glad no one was hurt but y'all will talk about this for years and enjoy the story and the day all over again.
Oh my... Well it makes for a good story... Beautiful photos
This made me laugh.
The whole idea of choppy water, however, made me queasy.
And really.
I'm laughing with you.
Not AT you!
What beautiful photos. I use to love sitting in the boat when my dad would go scubba diving. I'd read a book for hours and he'd bring fun stuff up for me to see and touch. Like my own touchable aquarium.
I'm so sorry about the boat :( But the wine sure does look nice. I so miss wine.
