My thought and prayers are always with those
who lost their lives and their families.

1. What's the best thing about growing older?
I'm still working on figuring this one out....I'll let you know!
2. When did you first feel like a grown up?
I think when I had my children.
3. Chocolate cake with white icing or white cake with chocolate icing?
Probably chocolate cake with chocolate icing.
4. What's the nicest thing a stranger has ever done for you?
Well when I was in H.S. a few of us girls were hitchhiking and a very nice man picked us up. We were not going very far but he told us never ever to hitchhike because you never know who might pick you up. I learned a big lesson that day and never did that again. That was back in the late 60's.
5. What's something you learned from your grandparents?
Sadly I can't think of anything specific.
6. Wednesday marks a sad day in the history of planet earth-9/11...what's something you do (or can do) to bring peace to your little corner of the world?
Making donations to a worthy cause brings me some peace and definitely sending out my handkerchief's to grieving mothers has given me peace in heart. Of course being kind and doing things for the people I love will often bring me peace too.
7. Share a favorite quote, scripture, or song containing the word peace.
John 14:27 New International Version (NIV)
27 Peace I leave with you; my peace I give you. I do not give to you as the world gives. Do not let your hearts be troubled and do not be afraid.
8. Insert your own random thought here.

We shared the same verse for #7! ;-)
So sad you don't get to go... Hard to believe its been 12 years...
the thing i like about being old is I am retired, no more stress at work.. can do what i want when i want.. as for the getting old part, old is not fun except for not working
What??? you don't get to go? well, do something FUN while he is gone! I don't think I felt like a grown up until I helped my mom take care of her wound after her mastectomy. :(
Love that Bible verse! Well, that's just not fair that you don't get to tag along with Mark to Europe! I really feel for you!
choc cake w/ white icing sounds good. choc cake w/ choc icing w/ vanilla ice cream sounds better. :)
I loved your responses. Loved the bible verse...you know me...I was all about the song. :-) Have a blessed day.
I think if I was hitchhiking and I was picked up by somebody who told me how dangerous hitchhiking was, that would probably really scare me. I don't blame you for never doing it again!
You actively do great things for bringing peace! Debby, you are unquestionably doing your part to kickstart world peace. :-)
Number 8: you trumped my Arkansas! David went to Arkansas for a long weekend chasing trains I didn't get to go. I think if I had to choose between Europe and Arkansas I pick Europe. Agree = :(
Oh sorry you don't get to go to Europe. Not fair!!
I liked all your answers and hello chocolate frosting and chocolate cake..yum!
I hope your hubby has a safe trip and brings you lots of goodies! Happy Wednesday!
Chocolate on chocolate for sure!
I can't believe you hitchhiked! We've picked up a hitchhiker before. I told my husband never again!
GREAT bible verse so needed that!
It touches my heart you do the handkerchief's. You're a blessing!
What a perfect verse to share! By the way, I'm with you on the chocolate with chocolate. :)
I'm so glad you shared one of your handkerchiefs with me.
I agree on chocolate/chocolate too!
I am thankful for your kind heart Debby...Your sending handkerchief's is a wonderful Ministry! ~Blessings
Darn that you can't go to Europe! Maybe next time? Love the scripture you quoted here. I think you do great with your hankerchief ministry, Debby.
betty
I'm a chocolate/chocolate too. Ohh reminds me I must bake a cake for this weekend!!
Sorry to hear you can't go with Mark this time around. Hope you can make some plans to travel with him somewhere wonderful soon.
Enjoyed the read Debby.
I'm sure everyone remembered what they were doing that day.
I always love these hodgepodges. I learn so much about you.
I'll never forget that day and my heart breaks for all those families that lost loved ones and just for the fear it brought to so many. I have been deathly afraid of flying since that day and if I didn't have grands far away I wouldn't fly at all! I hate that bad people were able to make me afraid......I need to repeat that scripture over and over!!!!
I know you wish you were going along to Europe!
That was a good lesson to learn. So glad it was a kind stranger who taught you girls to know better!
i felt like a grownup at 14 when my dad passed away
wow...that older man who picked you up hitchhiking told you something very valuable. He could have been a creep...thankful he wasn't. wishes for a great day
I love your flag and I too will always remember!
And girl chocolate icing and chocolate cake - you are my kind of girl.
sandie
I'm sorry you're not going to Europe with him!! I remember hearing a horrible story about when my dad was hitchhiking... scary stuff! I never see anyone hitch-hiking anymore!!
I agree about chocolate cake with chocolate icing. I will also go so far as to say white cake with white icing isn't even worth eating!
