Anybody else loving the Olympics like I am. I'm watching the 3 to 4 hour shows each night on NBC and biting my lips a lot, especially watching the skaters.
I have to say that I loved the opening ceremony. I'm a little tired about hearing about the ring not opening. Sure it sucked that it didn't work but the rest of the show was excellent in my eyes. I really liked the use of color and the choreography was impeccable.
These dancers were one of my favorites. The men and
woman in the background were amazing!
I also enjoyed this colorful one too!
I made some Chicken Enchilada Soup in the crockpot on Saturday. It is delicious and definitely my favorite so far. I will be making this one again and will also be eating it for dinner every night this week. My friend Alexis at Running Away! I'll Help You Pack! posted it last week.
Mine didn't come out as dark as hers or the original post but I'm thinking it is because I didn't have chicken broth so I used vegetable! Otherwise I didn't change up anything else. Give this one a try, it's so yummy......
I also spent a lot of time this weekend working on my address book. My old book must be over 20 years old and has about 100 crossed out address. I'm surprised I could even find an address in it with all the note and post its along with the little return addresses torn off of envelopes!
So I spent time working on address labels on my computer and putting in all the important names, addresses, phone numbers and children's names, etc. Then I printed them out and put them on the proper pages under the proper alphabet letters in a new address book. It looks absolutely amazing and definitely organized. I tried to take a photo but without giving out names and addresses there just wasn't a good way to capture it.
I'm enjoying getting my things in order....this is the year to get organized and implementing a "less is more" attitude.
Mark landed safely in Europe at 2 am this morning and I will be spending Valentine's Day alone this year....sigh! But I'm going to keep busy and look forward to him coming home over the weekend. Right now I have sweet potato chips in the oven for the dogs and I even had some mashed sweet potatoes for breakfast.
We went to see Inside Llewyn Davis IMDb almost two weeks ago. It is a simple story about a folk singers life and we thoroughly enjoyed it!
"A week in the life of a young singer as he navigates the Greenwich Village folk scene of 1961."
We had the opportunity to see Blue Jasmine IMDb on DVD from Netflix. We are Woody Allen fans and this movie was in true Woody form and very enjoyable........
"A New York socialite, deeply troubled and in denial, arrives in San Francisco to impose upon her sister. She looks a million, but isn't bringing money, peace, or love..."
Happy Monday!

OK that soup looks amazing. Love those colors. I took a trip to Russian and it is really beautiful. I was working Friday night so I missed it. Try to catch up this week.
glad you are enjoying the olympics coverage. i've had it on in the background from time to time.
The soup looks delicious. We would like this one a lot.
I enjoy watching the skating too. I'll admit to biting my lips, too!
The soup looks good. Are sweet potato chips good for dogs? Are they easy to make? And are they human food too?
I know, I know...too many questions. Just wondering?? Always interested in healthy snacks. :)
Have not gotten into the Olympics like I used to. Guess I do not know the skaters like I used to.
I really like Woody Allen flicks but thought Blue Jasmine was a bit too depressing for my taste.
I haven't had a chance to watch any of the Olympics yet, but do plan on it...enjoy your time organizing....
Oh yes, watching the Olympics! Every four years, I am sleep deprived for these two+ weeks! I did that to my address book a couple of years ago...helps a lot!
I have not watched any of the Olympics, but that colorful one looks interesting.I really need to do what you did with my address book, it is a horror and is so marked up i can't read who goes with what.... i need to add that on my to do list
That soup sounds delicious, Debby. I saved the recipe and will plan to make it soon!
I didn't catch much of the Olympics so far, not sure why as I usually enjoy watching them. Probably will do so over the next week.
Good for you for organizing; I like the idea of how you did your address book! I bet it will be easier now to find the addresses when you need them!
betty
OK, Olympics, chicken enchilada soup, movies, sweet potatoes, dogs...can I come over for a few days to your house?! :-)
Loved this post, Debby!
I didn't see the whole opening. Partly because there were some nitwits at the Norwegian channel who thought it needed sprucing up with a commercial break. It annoyed me so much, I changed channels. I went back later, but by then they had lit (or not as the case may be).
I have been watching a lot though. Mainly cross country and biathlon of which I am a huge fan. But also some figure skating and of course the speed skating. I was jumping up and down while watching the 500 meters yesterday willing the Dutch to go faster and the Japanese to fall (not nice, but you know...). The Japanese did not fall, but he was not as fast as any of the Dutch, which made a second clean sweep. The first one having been the 5000 meters.
I tend to keep all my old address books. You never know who you might want to find the address of sometime in the future. Mind you, I would have to find the book first then, since they are somewhere in a box!
I love the Olympics and try and watch as much as I can!! And I am needing that soup about right now, it is freezing here in Tennessee and we have no snow!! :-(
I need to try that soup! Looks great!
I haven't been watching any t.v. Lately.....will blog more about that later.
Sorry you'll be alone at valentines! It comes during tax season so we don't do anything,,,,,lots of things come during tax season!
I too am loving the Olympics Debby! Every night, we settle in with our coffee and watch until bedtime. What blessed doggies you have...
Don't fall off your chair! Yes, I am finally making the rounds to the blogs.
Loved the opening ceremonies.
Staying up too late watching different events.
Liked Llewyn, the movie, he was an anti-hero for sure. LOVED the music!
Blue Jasmine was fabulous - Woody aside.
Soup! Must try it! Going to try those potatoes for the dogs this weekend (maybe)
Big Hug!
Ann
Debby I don't know where I have been or what I have be doing - I know the Olympics are on - and I haven't gotten to watch a thing. I love the skating too - dang.
And that soup looks wonderful.
Sandie
On my list of projects it will take me a while to get to is transferring all the addresses in the book to my computer, so I can more easily edit.
We've been watching the Olympics every night since it started. I've even got my husband watching figure skating and commenting in a non-making-fun-of-it way. He's also recording a lot of hockey since it's on while we aren't home.
