1. What summer activity most takes you back to your own childhood?
Probably going to the beach. My grandparents on my dad's side had a summer home in Union Pier, MI and we would go to the beach often. I remember the sound of the sand under our feet on the smooth wood of the deck of the snack stand when we would go to buy a drumstick ice cream.
2. What's your favorite summer smell?
Usually it is the smell of grass however we have that every Thursday in California, so I'm going to say when the Jasmine are in bloom!
3. It's beach season in the US of A...so how do you feel about sand?
I actually like it although I didn't always like it. It seemed like such a mess taking the kids to the beach when they were little but I like it now!
4. Sun tea, SunChips, sunflower seeds, Capri Sun, Sunny Delight, Sun-Maid raisins, sun-dried tomatoes...your favorite food or beverage with sun in its name?
How about an ice cream Sunday? Of course I don't eat those anymore but I do enjoy sunflower seeds.
5. What's your favorite way to cool off on a hot summer day?
Definitely in a swimming pool, however most of the time it is just sitting in an air conditioned house. Although I have to admit that if we are outside a nice cold beer is an awesome way to cool off!
6. Share a favorite song with the word sun or sunshine in it's title.
OMG, I pulled up the top 100 songs with sun or sunshine in the title and I could list so many! Actually I am going to list the first one from the list "Ain’t No Sunshine – Bill Withers (1971) " because I've been watching Notting Hill a lot lately with Julie Roberts and Hugh Grand...... they play that song in .
7. Tell us about a time you had an exceedingly good or truly awful customer service experience. If it was awful, did you report it? Ever go back there again?
I'm sure there have been several over the years but most recently is our issue with AT&T and our internet. We have talked to 5 people over the last 2 weeks who say they will have our service up that day and it is still out!
The last I heard from Mark is that we are cancelling our AT&T phone/internet and doing a bundle with our Time Warner cable. Kinda sucks since AT&T was going to give us $500. to go with a bundle from them. We have never had an issue with them before this.

Happy Birthday to your handsome dad! About your anniversary post yesterday, I didn't know the story about you and your husband marrying two times. I have a dear friend who has married two husbands, twice.... total of four times. ;))
Happy birthday to your dad!
Seems many of us love the smell of freshly cut grass, though your right. we do get that alot in California, lol. Great picture of your dad! HAPPY BIRTHDAY to him! Enjoy the celebration!
happy birthday to your dad..
i love sun raisins and sunflower seeds and all things beach, which includes my toes in sugar sand...but not the hot sugar sand... i love the smell of the beach and the breezes but not the water. i sit in the edge but am afraid of what is under that water and undertows. but i love the beach...the only thing i can think of in my child hood summers was wading in mud puddles and playing hide and seek at dusk and scaring each other. we also playded red rover red rover and other games like that
I loved your answer of "ice cream sundae"! LOL
Happy Birthday to your dad! You really are blessed to still have him with you. Enjoy!
Wishing your dad the happiest of birthdays...he looks wonderful! What a blessing! I could eat an entire bag of sunflower seeds in about 2 seconds flat!
You're singing my song with your answer to #5!!! Yep, a cold beer hits the spot alright! I played in a tennis tournament in Charleston once, and the temps were 120 on the courts. The Preacher's Wife who was on our team saved the day with a cooler of beer! :)
happy birthday to your father! so glad you can be there with him.
i loved the notting hill montage where hugh grant walks thru the marketplace over the seasons to that song.
Happy Birthday to your dad! Great song choice. And I agree with the ice cream sundae.
HI Debby! Happiest of birthday's to you Dad! And you are a wonderful daughter to be with him to celebrate :)
Internet companies are the worst. We were going to drop part of our bundle to save money. When I called to find out how much we'd save, they cut our bill by a third. WHAT?? They said it was a 'sale'. What a crock. If I hadn't called, we'd still be paying more.
I like "Sunshine on My Shoulders" by John Denver. It makes me happy too! And ice cream is wonderful. I don't eat it much anymore because of stomach issues, but it is yummy :)
Enjoy the sunshine!

Happy Birthday Debby's Dad! I'm so glad you get to celebrate with him. He looks great! I hope you get your internet issues resolved soon. That is super frustrating.
The smell of freshly cut grass and Ain't No Sunshine. Loving that today Debby!
Happy Birthday to you lovely dad. Or, as we say here in Wales - Penblwydd Hapus!
I did not think about a Sundae. I love Bill Withers. Happy 91st Birthday to your day. Enjoy yourself.
Happy birthday to your dad! And I am with you I love the pool!
Happy birthday to your dad! It does seem like we were just celebrating his 90th birthday! I hope you enjoy the time celebrating with him! Wise idea to go with another internet company if it has been that long that you have been trying to resolve this problem.
betty
Ah the pool and the beach! How I adore our very very short summer here!!
Happy Birthday to your Dad!
