1. July is National Anti-Boredom Month. When was the last time you were bored? What's your go-to cure for boredom?
Probably waiting on my flight from Houston to Ontario, CA. Waiting for a co-pilot to arrive from another flight and thankfully he was late because I was late from Tampa and would have missed my connection otherwise. At home my go-to cure is always to watch a movie!
2. What's the last thing you made a reservation for?
Would have been a reservation for dinner.
3. What's one thing on your summer 'bucket list'? Any plans to make it happen?
We have a groupon that we have to use for the Princess Diana exhibit on the Queen Mary in Long Beach.
4. What's your favorite summertime sip?
A very cold beer on a hot day! Otherwise my favorite sip all year long is ice water with fresh squeezed lemon.
5. What do you find is the best way to handle another person's hostility and hopefully ease the tension?
A smile, a touch and asking them a personal question seems to work for me.
6. Your favorite film set in summer?
You know I have too many to list but an enjoyable summer movie is "The Great Outdoors" with John Candy, Dan Aykroyd, Annette Bening and Stephanie Faracy from 1988.
7. What word are you using too much lately?
I find that I use awesome a lot, especially on Facebook. I also say "Thank God" often but you can't use that one too much!
8. Insert your own random thought here.
We left early Saturday morning for our annual trip to Mammoth Lakes. We left extra early in hopes of not having too much traffic during the first few hours on a two lane road that can be full of trucks and motor homes which Mark obviously has to pass. Leaving early made it a very pleasant drive! This was taken from my phone while driving on Route 395 as the sun was rising.....
I typed this post using the Verizon MiFi from Phil which could only pick up a 1X signal at 30%. Forget about a 3G or a 4G signal. We are too remote for a better signal but at least I got to write my post. Same service on our phone. Can get a random text out to keep connected at home.
I finished reading one book and just started the next one. Adam flies up this evening to join us for a few nights!!!! See you next week.

the lack of 'connection' can be frustrating, but at least you have some. but it's kind of nice, too. :)
i had never even heard of mifi until you got yours.. so cool.. i use awesome way to much and need to learn a few to takes it;s place.. my focus went right to hostility,. i am a if i get hostile i am hostile back a fact i am not proud of....
Hi Debby! The last time I was bored was this past week. While healing from surgery. Although I have to admit I did find a few ways to be non-compliant to Dr's orders. Even so, he says I am healing fine. I'll be in the boot for 2 more weeks. I agree, you can't say `Thank God` too much.
Since I knew you were at the lake, I was surprised to see a post! Glad you were able to join us--even with a poor connection :)
I forgot about The Great Outdoors! I love that movie, too. I laughed and laughed...
I am glad you had a great trip to Mammoth. I don't think i've ever been there, only Yosemite. :) Anyway I am always bored in airports, the worst part is having a delay when you're in the plane! ;o On my trip to NY we had to wait about 1/2 hour in the crowded plane.
Anyway hope you had a happy 4th! :) Take care.
Sounds heavenly right about now...enjoy your time away, your books, and your wonderful views!
That sounds like a neat Groupon.
Interesting tip on your #5 response. I bet that touch and personal question might just defuse some people. Good thought on that.
Enjoy your trip!!! Will be looking for pic's!
So neat Adam is coming up, Debby; I know you'll enjoy the time he is there! Seems like a relaxing time with getting some books read! Beautiful picture of the sunrise! I tend to be using the word "absolutely" a lot these days :)
Enjoy the rest of your week!
betty
I love that movie The Great Outdoors! I totally read that question wrong. I was reading it as "film set" rather than a film set in summer. Now I do feel really stupid! Oh well. Glad you had a great vacay! That photo is awesome!
anit-boredom months????? That's funny. Never heard of it. Sounds like you're busy and your life is full. Way to go. Enjoy!
We have MiFi too and love being able to use my lap top in the car on trips. I loved the sunrise shot. Gorgeous. There is nothing like sunrise....unless it a sunset.
HI Debby! Enjoy every sun-up and sunset. We all need our time of rest!
Blessings,
Ceil
"Thanking God" that you are having a nice stay!! :-)
Those Mifi's are the best! I never leave home without mine and I can have up to 4 people on it.
Yes the Great Outdoors! That was such an awesome movie.
I've never been to Mammoth which doesn't seem possible. My best friend that lives in Pacific Palisades goes twice a year with her family.
The Queen Mary is the best and I want to go back there and do the ghost tour. My husband has never been to LA longer than a work trip so we need to come soon.

I have never acquired a taste for beer but I will join you with a glass of wine! Are you home yet?
The Princess Diana exhibit that would be fun!
We love the Great Outdoors also, it always makes me laugh
Love the photo!
I'm with you - an icy beer on a hot day is the best!
