1. My hubs spent last weekend pheasant hunting. Are there hunters in your family? If so, what do they hunt? Which of the following have you tasted-pheasant, rabbit, venison, duck, goose? Which of those would you most like to taste, or be mostwilling to taste? Vegetarians keep calm and Hodgepodge on.
Mark has been hunting but it was years ago. I'm not a fan and do not want to taste any. I have had duck because his family use to cook it. It was definitely a part of a Bohemian meal years ago. They only thing Mark hunts now are Targets.....he belongs to a gun range.
2. What high spot have you visited that gave you a wonderful 'bird's eye view' of something below?
The top of the John Hancock Center in Chicago is one place I have been for a great view. Of course Mammoth Mountain is another place with a great view along with our own backyard!
Yes I do have a few decorative bird figurines in the house. One is my new Jim Shore Blue Bird! I did have a love bird who lived for many years back in the 90's.
4. Tell about a time you 'killed two birds with one stone'?
Nothing is coming to mind right now but I know I have done that many times in my life!

5. Your favorite song with a bird in it's title?
The first thing that came to mind was "Yellow Bird" which I think I heard Harry Belafonte sing but apparently The Kingston Trio is known for this song along with the Mills Brothers! Yellow Bird was first recorded in 1957.
6. What most recently gave you goose bumps?
I think I need to start keeping a list of different emotions so I can be ready for these questions. I never think good on the spot!
Goose pumps for me, as a rule, will often come from something emotional. Usually a deep intense feeling from God. I recently felt them watching Super Soul Sunday on OWN with Oprah. She had Madonna Badger on who lost her 3 daughter along with her parents in a house fire on December 25, 2011.
7. Halloween is this Friday...any plans? Did you trick or treat as a child? Carve pumpkins? Share your most memorable costume.
The only plans I have is to hand out candy. We had about 70 kids last year and we buy the big candy bars at Costco which is really fun. The kids get really excited when they come to our door.
Yes I did trick or treat as a child. Those are awesome memories for me. Never had any special costumes. (as an adult I would never dress up, don't like it at all) I don't remember carving any pumpkins as a child but of course we did with our children. We have a pumpkin on the kitchen table waiting to be carved right now.......

i always got sick on halloween as a kid (now I think it must have been allergies) so my mom kept me inside. However she'd let me trick or treat int he house. She'd go into each room, close the door and then give me candy...
I am not familiar with those bird songs. Not sure where I've been that I didn't know more on that one.
The costumes are great - I especially like the German costumes and the dogs are adorable! We try to give the kids more candy than expected, too. They love it.
Skye and Charlie are soooo cute!
My hubby, like yours, enjoys a gun club. Hunting is behind him these days.
CUTE halloween costumes! :) LOVE that blue jay!!! i used to collect duck decoys and bird figurines but got rid of quite a few except for a few treasures. love it.
love all the costumes, so creative.. and especially the cute canine costumes. with all these questions today i drew a blank on most. no songs came to mind and no birds in the house was my best answer. i like those high views you posted
Nice sky view photos! Have fun handing out the candy! Have a great day!
I enjoyed listening to 'Yellow Bird' by the Kingston Trio. I'm not sure if I've heard it before today, but I like it.
If I were a kid, I'd want to go trick-or-treating at your house :)
I missed reading the post you mentioned in 'random', but I'm off to read it now.
Cute costume pictures :) I remember we went to a few Halloween parties in our before kids years. It was okay to dress up, but I wasn't fond of it. Thankfully we have never been hunters here. I know it was big in Montana; weird going by a pick up truck and seeing a deer in the back of it, LOL :)
betty
You have a spectacular view! I'm all about a great view : ) I think when it comes to costumes people either love it or hate it. I don't love it. Happy Halloween! Are your pups wearing those costumes this year?
I have had no desire to go to the top of that building on any of our trips to Chicago. Call me coward, but just not doing it. I also listed the same song(s) on my blog.
Wonderful photos of places high up, and if the third one is from your backyard...how do you stop looking? I would be mezmerized every time I stepped out my back door. Breathtaking! This was another fun Hodgepodge!
I have been on top of John Hancock too - it's tall!!!!!!!!!!
I love the puppy costumes!!! I'm sure they are a hit on the trick and treat circut!
I'm not a fan of wild game either. I prefer to raise my own beef and have that.
Hope you have a great Halloween. I bet you are the most popular house with big candy bars!
What fun pictures you posted today!
We don't allow hunting on our land. People ask (and sometimes we have poachers) but I feel like the deer need somewhere safe to go.

My husband usually just hunts deer and doesn't do that as much as he used to. He'd love to hunt geese, but hasn't done that since we've met!
You have such a beautiful view from your home!
You do have a beautiful view from your backyard.
That's one thing I miss about living in the mountains.
I had not heard of Madonna Badger.
I cannot imagine losing a child, much less 3 children and parents in a fire. On Christmas Day.So sad!
70 kids...wow. We only have a few.
I don't dress up as an adult, either.
I would like to go to a masquerade party, though.
Love the pictures of the costumes!
Have a great weekend!
Hi Debby, I have to say of all the game you mentioned, I have tasted them all; also Elk, Crodile..and love Elk the most. I grew up eating rabbits we raised by was told that it was chicken. Loved reading the rest of your answers.
Hope you have a fantastic, joy filled Friday.
Hugs, Noreen
That blue bird is amazing!
Love their previous costumes! I so didn't get to carving again this year .. ugh
Enjoyed your hodgepodge.
Wow, full size candy bars are like every trick or treaters dream.
Two bird's eye views that immediately spring to mind are the two revolving restaurants I've eaten at - the Skylon Tower in Niagara Falls and Windows on the World at the World Trade Center in New York (surreal to think it's gone now).
You are a trick or treater's bonus with large sized candy bars!
I've been on top of the John Hancock. Loved it!
I'm from Texas and my mom lives in Montana. Hunting is a way of life. Its not cruel.
And you know how I feel about Halloween from my posts. LOL
Hope you had a great weekend!!
