1. We celebrate Veteran's Day in the US of A on November 11th. When did you last interact with a member of the armed forces (either currently serving or retired)? Have you ever written a letter to a soldier, bought a meal or coffee for a solider, said an unprompted thank you to a soldier you encountered out and about somewhere? If you're not in the US, comment on a similar holiday in your own country.
It has been awhile since I have interacted with a Veteran. I have sent out cards in the past for Veteran's Day. It is not that I wouldn't, I just haven't been around any for awhile.
2. You can have fifty pounds of anything at all (except money)...what would you choose?
Nothing is coming to mind right now. For fun I will say Reese's Peanut Butter Cups!
3. When did you last receive an invitation in the 'real' mail? What was it for and did you attend? When it comes to RSVP-ing, are you an 'early responder' or a 'last minute, barely-under-the-wire' kind of guest?
It has been about a year since I received and invitation in the mail. I always respond!
4. What's something you really don't like to waste?
Water, food, time......the list can be endless!
5. Cheers, Friends, MASH, Seinfeld...of the ones listed, your favorite long-running sitcom
Those were all favorites of mine, I can't pick just one!
6. What decision are you glad you made?
We recently decided to go to my mother in laws for Thanksgiving. It was pressing hard on my heart because Adam & Tristen are moving by the end of the year so I wanted to make this Thanksgiving extra special. Well most of the time Adam comes here and Tristen will meet up with her family so we came up with a plan that I think will be good all around.
We will have our Thanksgiving dinner here on Sunday the 23rd which means Adam and Tristen will both be here. (Celebrating Mark's birthday too!) That way on Thanksgiving they can both be with Tristen's family and we can fly to spend Thanksgiving with Mark's family. Amber of course will be here too and has been invited to join Adam and Tristen at her families house.
7. In this month of 'Thanksgiving' what is one thing that's different today than it was a year ago that you're grateful for?
I'm happy that our son Adam and Tristen got engaged.
8. Insert your own random thought here.
So recently I made appointments with several different specialist that I have put off for some time. I am seeing a gynecologist today, getting my mammogram next week and have a colonoscopy interview appointment. I also have two follow up appointments, one with my primary doctor and one with my cardiologist. Will conquer the dentist in 2015.
I did finally see the Pulmonary Specialist on Monday. Really hard to see someone when your feeling better! Anyway we are going to be doing a few tests in the next few weeks to make sure all is well. I will keep you informed.

Wishing you the best with all these visits and tests!
Really good for you Debby getting all those appointments taken care of. I hope all goes well with each one. Glad you got your Thanksgiving plans worked out. I won't have either of my girls home this year either which makes me a little sad. My oldest is going out West to meet her moving van and car carrier and get things settled into her house before the wedding. My youngest is going to her boyfriend's house because they invite her every year, and it has never worked out before. This felt like the year. She'll be home three weeks later for her Christmas break. Enjoy your day!
Decisions about the big holidays can be so tricky. I'm glad yours are working out for you.
You are really going to be a busy lady with all the doctor appointments. They are important and praying that all is well and you find answers.
I find that if i make an appointment with the doctor for anything, it is always better by the time i get there.. great idea on TG dinners, everyone wins with that plan. we did that several years for Christmas, had family on Christmas Eve so the sons and wives could be with the wives family...
I want fifty pounds of GOLD
glad you're getting thru the medical stuff! and sounds like a good plan for thanksgiving, too.
50 pounds of... hard to choose any food item because it would get stale or go bad before i could eat it all! :) that's one sack of horse feed - gone in a blink of an eye. dog food would last a couple of weeks (maybe). bird seed - same thing. shoot, even 50 lbs. of hamburger would get freezer burn before i got to it... :)
Good luck at all the doctor's appointments. Hoping you get some answers!
Sounds like a great plan for `Thanksgiving`
We will eat at Ryan's on Thanksgiving and I will fix a big meal for Christmas.
xoxo
I'm glad you got to finally see the pulmonary specialist, Debby. Now that you have made contact with them, maybe if there is a crisis in the future (and I hope there is not), they will fit you in sooner since you are an "established" patient.
Good plans for Thanksgiving :) I know on my side of the family with brother and his family, we are celebrating on that Sunday too, the 23rd. Its good to be flexible when it comes to planning out events like this :)
betty
Love your thanksgiving plans. We did much the same thing with our family. Just had my mammogram - passed!
Good job on planning Thanksgiving-glad all is going to work out.
This month is turning out to be my doctor appointment month, and I have the dentist next month. It's good to get them done and out of the way, so good for you!!
Another fun Hodgepodge!!
My hubs is an army vet. You and me with the peanut butter cups! My favorite sitcom was Everyone Loves Raymond which i did not watch until it went into reruns!
So glad you got your Thanksgiving plans worked out!
Wow, you're going to be a busy lady for the next little while! I have a yearly mammogram coming up in a couple of weeks, then the gynecologist right after Christmas. Fun times:)
I interacted with several veterans on Veteran's Day, at a program we attended over at the school. I would take 50 pounds of flavored coffee k-cups for my Keuring brewer!! I received an invitation in the mail a couple weeks ago for my nephew's wife's Holiday Open House at her store. I don't like wasting food.
Good for you getting all those doctor appointments taken care of! I'm overdue on a few of mine, so you're inspiring me to take care of business!
I'd take 50 pounds of rocks - I love rocks! Hoping that in that pile there might be some geodes or gems!!
GOD BLESS!
I liked your answer to #2! My Secret Sister gave me a fall bowl filled with Reese's PB cups, i enjoyed it!
Hope your dr. appointments go well.
Gosh that is a lot of Doctors! I hope every test works out well and you get peace of mind. I am in the middle of waiting for another test from my pulmonologist and it is hard to wait;( We have often celebrated the holiday on a different day so we could all be together, I think it is a perfect solution!
Sounds like a wonderful Thanksgiving. I know once Kat and Brian married it was tough to split the holidays up.
