MAYBE.....

I did not want to leave the house last week. I very much wanted to go to the show but could not get my act together. I honestly did nothing for several days last week. Probably one the laziest weeks I've had in a long time. Each day I had plans but never did them, putting them off until tomorrow. Then tomorrow came and I put them off until the next day.

Finally by Thursday I went out. Why? Because I had bowling and I never want to let my league down so I made myself go. Then since I was dressed for the day I convinced Mark to go to the show that night.

No more pajama days for me! (okay, technically I am always in my PJ's until sometime after lunch except on Thursday's) What I mean is no more days where I shower and put on clean pajamas in the middle of the day.

Friday I attended a funeral for my boss from Hallmark where I worked for seven years for her and her husband who owned the store. She passed away in her sleep. Her husband passed away last May. I couldn't stop thinking about their three daughter and how hard it has to be to lose both parents so close together.

When you see the video of pictures of a persons life it really makes you think how quickly our lives go by. Let's make the most of it while we are still here! She was my buddy on Facebook and we emailed each other often. I will miss her.....

After that I ran to our local Von's grocery store to pick up a few things for Saturday. Adam was coming over. I picked up vegetables and berries. I knew we were going out to eat for his birthday dinner that we didn't do the week before and I wanted to have something to munch on if we got hungry.

I'm just so tired of the bad snacking that the holiday parties bring on. We are back on track...well at least until Super Bowl Sunday!

We had a wonderful lunch at the Wood Ranch, went for a walk around a pond next to the restaurant and then we came back home and played a game. It was really a perfect day. Adam flew back to Pittsburgh yesterday. Mark took off to Georgia this morning and I plan on keeping busy this week. Hopefully I will see a few movies.
We are expecting storms today....
My plan is to go see  Whiplash tonight
but I'm not holding my breath on that one ....

glad you're back on track! but it sounded like you needed the down time, too. nothing like a funeral to put life back into precious perspective, though.

Whiplash looks like a really good movie. I can't wait to read your review on that one since I know I won't be going to the movies this week. I'm glad you're out about now, too... :)

Debby,

I am so sorry to hear of the loss.
Sounds like a terrific couple.

Glad you were able to do some R&R last week.
Continue to relax and go see a show while Mark is in GA.

We are expecting more rain today.
This has been some winter.
Lots of rain, cold then warm days.
I hope to see some snow, at least.
If not, we'll have lots of bugs in the summer.

I do the same thing: If I don't make myself get up and get going, I'll sit on the couch on my laptop and the next thing you know it's time to fix dinner! :)

When I see a video of someone's life at funerals it makes me want to capture more moments of life... it does go by so fast.

i was thinking all the way through if you might ought to go see a doctor since you did not go to a show all week, i mean that is what you LOVE.. glad you are going to see one now, you are on the upswing...

Hi Debby! You know, sometimes we all need some time to just putter and recharge. Maybe that was your last week?
Glad you are up and at 'em now. Sounds like you rebounded like crazy. You were busy!
There are so many movies I didn't see that are up for Oscars. I'm not going anywhere for a while, but I would like to see them eventually. It is fun!
Hope you had a great Monday,
Ceil

I personally appreciate a fellow *jammie wearer* - and I can identify with those couch potato days. I'm working on getting myself literally moving again. Seems that physical inertia has gotten the best of me lately. Sigh.

So sorry to hear about your friend. Always such a tough time for family.

Life is short - so we do well to remember that, and enjoy every day the good Lord gives us.

GOD BLESS!

So sorry about your friend! I think we all need times when we just are lazy and stick around home. I realized until I started taking walks last week that there were times I hadn't left the house for a few days since I work at home; hadn't even gone outside to check the weather, etc. Now I'm trying to get out for a 30 minute walk most days of the week.

Sounded like a really nice time with Adam!!

I hadn't heard of Whiplash, so looking forward to hearing what you say about it if you see it!

I'm sorry to hear of the loss of your friend. We saw The Imitation Game over the weekend-really good. Benedict Cumberbatch plays the lead and he is so so talented! We're under about 2 feet of snow (at least) today, so no plans to leave the house : )

I'm so sorry for the loss of your dear friend. I am a PJ wearer too.... if not pj's.... yoga pants. And yes, I have showered and put on clean pj's many times. As a second shift worker, I tend to get started later in the day, too.

PJ's, shower and clean pj's? Sounds like a great day in. Especially if it is raining and windy and cold outside! Bring on the hot chocolate and the Christmas films!

Lazy days aren't all bad...I think they're needed from time-to-time to just sort of regroup, if you will. So very sorry about your boss passing away. Losing someone is never easy, is it? I adore your view, Debby...GORGEOUS!

I've been having a hard time getting motivated the last few weeks. I was sick after Christmas for two weeks and haven't gotten back my mojo since. Make room on your couch... we can entertain one another! =D

I have spells like that too Debby. It's hard to shake the funk sometimes. I am so sorry about your friend, I know she must have been a lovely person.

Your time with Adam sounds like it was fun and relaxing. I hope they find great success in their new city.

So glad you saw Whiplash! That was the movie that made the biggest impact on me this year. I hope more people will see it.

While a pajama day is healing once in a while, mostly I agree that its best to force yourself to get back out there. So good for you!

Aww, the news of death was very sobering. Thank you for the reminder that nothing is guaranteed.
