Happy Birthday Tristen!
Tristen is 32 today. We are so proud of her. This picture is from her web page at The University of Pittsburgh. She is teaching a class which is something she has never done before and it is new to the university. She teaches the class twice a week and is enjoying the experience. (If you don't know this already Tristen is our son Adam's fiance)
They also gave her the space at the university which is for her research which goes along with the grant she was given. She is working on getting it set up which of course is also a new experience for her. She has been interviewing students to hire to help with this research.
I know that Adam and Tristen are looking forward to the Spring weather to arrive since this was their first year experiencing Winter in Pittsburgh. They were told by the locals that it was one of the worst ones they have had in many years.
I think about Tristen all the time. She started this awesome job after Christmas which I know comes with a lot of responsibilities. Also the fact that she lost her father right after Thanksgiving last year and that she now lives 2,427 miles away from her mother who she is super tight with.
Having a Doctorate in Psychology doesn't mean you have all the answers to hurting on the inside. I pray she is healing and taking time for herself to grieve.

Happy birthday Tristen! She is such a beautiful young woman, inside and out! How neat she pursued what she wanted with schooling and got to be where she is today. It does figure the year they move would have been one of the worst winters there.

Happy Birthday, Tristen.....How impressive to be doing all of this at her age....we all grieve in different ways but we all must go through the stages if we are to be healthy.....sometimes we don't know it is affecting us negatively until we become ill......I moved to Pittsburgh Fall of 1993 and the winter was kind of rough after living in the South all my life...the grey winter days were depressing...
I'm wondering: Are you the one who makes a book of your blog each year? I've never thought about doing it but looking back on some of the posts from previous years, I'd like to have them in book form.
