On March 1st Mark and I went to see Jupiter Ascending (IMBd). Mark wanted to see this movie and I of course liked the actors so I didn't mind going. Turns out I liked the movie more than Mark did. I thought it was very entertaining.
"A young woman discovers her destiny as an heiress of intergalactic nobility and must fight to protect the inhabitants of Earth from an ancient and destructive industry."
On March 3rd I went to see McFarland USA (IMBd). This movie was excellent and based on a true story. Who doesn't enjoy a feel good movie. One of those movies where you are crying because your sad and also crying because your happy!
"A cross country coach in a small California town transforms a team of athletes into championship contenders."
On March 11th I went to see The Second Best Exotic Marigold Hotel (IMBd). Have you seen the first one? If not I would suggest seeing it before seeing this one so you know the story line of the characters. This movie was fun and entertaining. They are pretty simple movies that I have enjoyed.
"As the Best Exotic Marigold Hotel has only a single remaining vacancy - posing a rooming predicament for two fresh arrivals - Sonny pursues his expansionist dream of opening a second hotel."
On March 16th I went to see Unfinished Business (IMDb). I knew going in that this movie was going to be silly. I happen to like Vince Vaughn a lot so I thought I would see it. I actually enjoyed this movie for the story line with him and his family. That part was heartwarming. I could have done without the sexual parts. I just don't see why they have to throw that in.
"A hard-working small business owner and his two associates travel to Europe to close the most important deal of their lives. But what began as a routine business trip goes off the rails in every way imaginable - and unimaginable."
Also on March 16th I went to see Cinderella (IMDb). This movie was everything I expected it to be. It was so charming and enchanting. I thought it was excellent and hope you get to see it.
"When her father unexpectedly passes away, young Ella finds herself at the mercy of her cruel stepmother and her daughters. Never one to give up hope, Ella's fortunes begin to change after meeting a dashing stranger."
Yesterday March 22nd Mark and I went to see The Divergent Series Insurgent (IMDb). I was a fan of the first movie, Mark not so much but he did go to see this second installment with me. I have to say that we both enjoyed this one and felt it was better than the first one.
I really do enjoy the young main actors in this movie who have gone on to do some other excellent movies since the Divergent series started. The Fault in the Stars and Whiplash to name two!
"Beatrice Prior must confront her inner demons and continue her fight against a powerful alliance which threatens to tear her society apart with the help from others on her side."

I would like to see McFarland - since I do love running so much.
I've read a bunch of people that loved Cinderella. I'd heard a lot also say McFarland was good and had no idea what it was about!
It sounds like you've been doing a lot of movie watching :) I always enjoy hearing your reviews of what you've seen. Have a great Monday!
I definitely want to see Insurgent sooner than waiting for it coming out to Red Box :) I was wondering about Cinderalla, thanks for your review. You wonder after a movie has been made so many times if there is something new to add to it, know what I mean?

I feel so out of the movie loop! I haven't seen any of those movies, but Cinderella is tops on my list :)
I've heard good things about Cinderella and McFarland!
I really want to see McFarland USA, being that Brittany was a cross-country runner. Looks very inspirational!
I hope to see Cinderella soon. Because I love Cinderella stories!!
I want to see the Marigold Hotel one... I didn't realize there was a 'first' one. Thanks for telling me, so I can try to find it first!
I have heard about or have seen the ads for most of those movies. Have not seen any of them however.
These movie posts always remind me how very few movies I see!
Hi, I always like to read about your movie going....saw The Second Best Exotic Marigold Hotel last Thursday....It had been a while since I saw the first one so I didn't remember everything about the characters.....but it was so good....Maggie Smith especially.....I want to be like her and say what I think, maybe when I"m 80.
Mama Bear
I know Cinderella had two characters in it from Downton Abbey.
And I saw both Marigold's - loved the first one - cried at the second one.
Thanks for the summaries.
I loved seeing Cinderella! The movie was well done without being cheesy, and loved Lily James. Who knew the girl could sing. I loved that some of my favorite Downton characters were in it even through the series is done for this year. Now my youngest dreams of getting a Cinderella dress for prom one day.
I haven't seen any of the other movies you have listed but hope to get to see Insurgent and Do You Believe in the next week or so.
Love and Hugs ~ Kat
You are like my movie guru.
