NO HODGEPODGE TODAY, WHAT WILL I DO?

I have nothing. Sure things are going on here but do you really want to know about them? We had a nice evening with Adam on Friday night and Mark made breakfast for us in the morning before Adam took off for a birthday party.

I actually opened my Mother's Day gift on Friday night since Adam was here. It was a group gift that I asked for from my family. So I ordered it and it arrived from Amazon during the week. Do you want to know what it is?

I asked for a Toshiba Chromebook 2 for travel. I have had a Toshiba Netbook that I've been taking with me for about 6 years now when I travel. It is very, very slow now and especially when compared to my Toshiba laptop I got the Christmas before last.

When I go on my laptop each day I click on Google Chrome and that is where I am all day so the Chromebook 2 was a perfect choice for a travel computer. I will probably use it in the house too from time to time.

So everything is in the cloud and all I had to do was put in my password. It was ready to go! I just have to figure out a photo system I want to use so I can put pictures into blog posts when I'm traveling.

Skye has been having trouble with an ear infection. Just one ear and I had her at the vet last April for it. It was okay for awhile but as I think back I had actually used the medication several times since then. The last few months it has been bad again and I've been trying all kinds of natural approaches.

She is good for awhile and then it is itching her again. You know something is up when she hides under the bed. I've tried grain free, gluten free food and did a lot of research on food allergies. Purchased a lot of different ear products too.

She has been on a poultry free grain free salmon food for about six week now. It has definitely helped some general body itching she has been having. She has been happier and playing more, however I just couldn't put her through the daily ear care anymore so I took her to the vet yesterday.

The ear is bad and the only way to really know what the issue is through blood work which will test food and outdoor allergies. The blood work is $380. dollars but at this point I feel it is worth it to know. I could spend the rest of my life trying to eliminate things from her diet to see what it is.

She has three medications and will be checked again next week. Actually the doctor couldn't get her instrument into her ear because is was so swollen. The blood work will take at least two weeks for the results.

For many years now when I get out of the shower after washing and literally scrubbing my armpits with soap and a nail brush I can smell b.o. in the armpit area. I even talked with my doctor about this. Yet I don't smell during the day, a scented deodorant covers it up.

I've tried all kinds of approaches to deodorants over the years but really want to us a natural one. I would use hydrogen peroxide, lemon, rubbing alcohol to try to rid of this odor but that hasn't helped either.

Well I found it and I'm only posting this in case someone else has ever had this issue. I don't know why it is working but it is and I am thrilled. Take my shower and my armpits smell nice & clean without any extra scrubbing and the deodorant is awesome during the day. I'm in love.......

So sad to hear about Skye. I remember what happened to Wuppie when he had his blood ear, so please take care of Skye!

I do hope the vet can figure out what to do to help Skye, poor baby. I can't stand it when something is wrong with one of our dogs, they can't talk and i fret about it. the lavender and sage must be what our foremothers used before they invented deodorant. i would love to have a chrome net book. keep us posted on how it goes learning on it. i don't think it has windows on it, does it?

poor little skye. i have one dog that has a chronic ear infection. we keep her on daily drops and clean-outs every few days. we had it tested to i.d. it but even the expensive treatment never got rid of it. *sigh* the vet, too, said it could be any range of allergic reactions and said it would be very expensive to try to track it down. at her age, we're just trying to keep her comfortable.

congrats on the chrome netbook! i love my toshiba laptop and hope it'll keep trucking for a while, yet. but i know it is slowing down, too.

Oh no, poor Skye!! I hope the vet can get to the bottom of this problem so that it can be cleared up fast. Congrats on your new Chromebook. It's so nice to have things working fast, once I learn the new tricks. Have a sweet evening, Debby.

Prayers for Skye! I hate it when our fur babies are uncomfortable. I know it was expensive but its worth it if the vet can have results and help with healing.
Very cool gift for Mothers Day. Congrats on the notebook.
Isnt it a relief to found an anecdote to help? Glad you found the Schmidts cream. It sounds like it would smell great.
Hugs!

Thanks for the product info, Debby; I'll have to look for it. Poor Skye; nothing worse than an ear infection I think, no matter who has it, a young baby or a dog. I hope they can find out what is causing everything with her so she can feel better. Don't you love vet bills? I should have been a vet and of course we pay them and agree to the services because we want to take care of our pets.

Glad you had a good visit with Adam and I like your Mother's Day gift!

Poor Skye!! I'm very glad you're able to pay the bill for the tests; it will give you both peace of mind.

Thank you for the deodorant testimonial! I love that it's also made in the USA. I followed your link and ordered the lavender-sage.

I got a laptop for my birthday, too. So nice!

I'm actually quite excited about your deodorant recommendation. I'm going to put it on my Amazon wish list now before I forget.
