Adam was able to get a direct flight from Pittsburgh to LAX so he was arriving at 10:20 am Sunday morning so we picked him up at the airport and spent the day with him. First we took him to their condo so he could drop of his luggage.
Then we headed out to lunch at Lenny's Deli on Westwood Blvd in Los Angeles. I had a Reuben which is my favorite deli sandwich. It was delicious! Adam had breakfast and Mark had a brisket sandwich.
We made a quick stop back at the condo before heading over to Santa Monica Pier and the 3rd street shopping promanade. (Mark bought a pound of sliced brisket to take home. Had to put it in Adam's frig)
We walked the pier which is always fun. Nothing better than listening to the ocean and taking in some sunshine.
They have several plant covered dinosaurs along the shopping area. Adam was in need of a birthday gift for his best friends daughter who is turning one. He is going to the birthday party tomorrow. Mark ended up getting some Clark shoes and a belt. I bought a Pat the Birthday Bunny book for Jason's daughter.
After walking the pier, walking to 3rd St. and walking the entire promenade we decided to stop and relax for a little while. We sat outside and had a beer and some appetizers. The end to a perfect day. We drove Adam back to the condo and hung around for awhile before heading home.
Adam will be over late tonight (11:00 pm) to spend the night and then he will be heading over to the birthday party tomorrow. He will head back to his condo tomorrow night and off to Pittsburgh on Sunday morning. Love being able to see Adam each month but miss our time with Tristen :(

this is as close as i will ever get to Santa Monica and it sure is pretty. sand and water are my thing. i love a good Rebuen, they have a good one on River street in Savannah. so glad you got to spend time with Adam.. living 3000 miles apart is not easy i am sure. i like that dinosaur
We certainly are spoiled in Southern California, aren't we?! I've done some lovely *pier-walking* a little further south, and it's always such a great time. The sights, the sounds, the smells - I just love the ocean.
And, when you get to spend it with someone special like Adam - well, life just doesn't get much better!

I love Santa Monica. I love LA!! You need to check out Porto's. They have the most amazing pastries and sandwiches. I ate there 2 weeks ago when I was in LA. Looks like yall had a great time.
