1. When is your next big deadline? What's it for?
I don't have a next big deadline at this time other than packing for some future trips!
2. May is National Barbecue Month. Do you prefer cooking indoors or out? What's the best thing about a barbecue? What's the last thing you cooked on an outdoor grill?
I believe the last thing we cooked were pork chops on the grill. We love the really thick ones from Costco. I suppose the clean-up is easy so that would be the best thing. I am not into actual BBQ sauce so we don't do that very often at all. If you don't have the GrillGrates you should try them. They are amazing.
3. What is one thing on your "never again" list?
I'm still working on this one. I am trying to say "no" to my never ending desire to fall in love with things and buy them. That same goes for lotions and cosmetics. I swear there isn't a week that goes buy were I don't have something new to try coming in the mail. I'm supposed to be decluttering our home, not adding to it!
4. What's something that annoys you about people your own age? Something you love about your generation?
Well in my opinion, as I have aged, I find more things annoying about everything. I'm trying to work on that because it all seems to fall on Mark. I wish he would put on his reading glasses when he is in the kitchen so I don't have to see the counter top full of salt that next morning from something he thinks needed more salt!!!
Something I love about our generation.....their love and respect for our country.
5. Lilac, iris, hyacinth, pansy...your favorite purple flower?
I'm going to say Lilac's. We don't have them here in California but I remember them well from growing up in Illinois.
6. Whats a song that always calms you down?
I can think of several songs that will calm me down. One of my favorites would be "Shout to the Lord." Of course some smooth jazz will always calm me down.
I'm also going to say that honestly for me it would be putting a favorite movie into the DVD player. That always calms me down.
7. What's the last thing you donated?
Actually the last thing I donated was $12 dollars to Unravel Pediatric Cancer Give Us 12 program. Did you know that only $.01 from each dollar of donations made to cancer funds goes to find a cure for pediatric cancer? This is where I got that figure:
8. Insert your own random thought here.
Happy Birthday to my brother in law Bob!

me to, no deadlines in my life, loving it. no BBQ the grill is broken. i dont sing to calm myself, i quote scripture.
the last thing i donated was to a blogger who is in financial trouble through ill health.
PS surprised a DVD will calm you down.. hee hee hee from one movie lover to another.
lilacs for me, too. had them in wisconsin but not here in this part of texas. :(
We love pork chops on the grill. I'm going to have to clean our BBQ (after the winter and now all the yellow pollen) and get it going. I'm trying to get rid of stuff too. It's amazing how quickly stuff adds up! "Shout to the Lord" is a great song. It revs me up ;)
Never head of grill mates but I looked and they look like a good thing. I buy to much too and we are trying to move - someone is looking today. I bought that lavender deodorant yesterday on Amazon you wrote about a couple weeks ago - you are a bad influence on me. lol
That's a really sweet donation. :) I recently donated to pediatric cancer as well a few months back.
I tend to buy a lot of cosmetics and lotions too. I've been better about it now and i can't wear eye make up because i keep getting itchy eyes. I don't know what product to use.
Good for you donating... pediatric cancer ... I just have to ask God about that when I get to Heaven. Those sweet babies.
Debby, the thing that has basically stopped me from bringing anything new into my house is picturing it in an estate sale after my kids go through everything and shake their heads wondering what I was thinking. Have a great weekend.
I am with you on collecting makeup and lotion. No matter how much weight I have lost or gained I can always fit into makeup and body products! LOL Oh and Skye is a cutie patootie, and LOVE your grand pup Charlie. I have a Westie too!
Hub loves to grill and of course I do not object!! I do find the older I get, little things tend to bother me more.
We did pork chops last too.
deadlines I so which I had none ... lol!
Pork chops sound amazing. During this remodel maybe I'll have to BBQ some :)
Planning for future trips is always fun. Where are you headed?
Hi there, I loved reading your answers-but one surprised me. I too, love Lilacs and had them at my childhood home in Palo Alto and then in Sonoma County. Maybe there are some varieties that will grow in your area.
Hugs, Noreen
I love the patriotic answer! And I almost said Shout to the Lord... I love that song and it's one that takes the focus off of me, which is always good.
Ha! Putting a favorite DVD into the player always calms me to the point of falling asleep. LOL Packing for future trips sounds interesting! In my opinion, de-cluttering is highly overrated. ;-)
Debby, thanks for the sweet comments you left on my blog today. I appreciate your encouragement :)
I, too, am constantly struggling with the desire to fall in love with 'things' and add to my own clutter. It's hard!
I agree, the older I get, the more things tend to annoy me, too...
For sure Lilacs. We have a row of them between us and our neighbor. I last donated to the Montana Sheriff's Association. One of my favorite songs is "Precious Lord, take my hand, lead me on, let me stand . . .
I do like that song "Shout to the Lord"; it is so pretty. I think it is good not to have too many deadlines, especially as we get older :) I used to be really impulsive to buy books on Amazon until I realized I had more books than time to read them so I stopped looking and stopped buying, though it was at first hard to do. We live in such a society that they do encourage one to buy; so many fancy gimmicks out there or new products to try.
betty
I so agree with your #6 Debby.
It's nice having no deadlines but I find it's not helpful at getting things done. My rate of decluttering is way too slow. Nice cause to donate to.
Lilacs for me, too!
Your answer to $4 reminded me of the research that shows people get grumpier with age.
OMG I'm caught up! I'm so sorry to been so behind on commenting.
